One of the best glass shops you can go to in the whole state, great employees and great variety.

This place was incredible. The art, the pipes, the puppies, the fantastic crew and everything else! There was so many choices of things from pipes to art to pre rolls, etc. I bought a chillum that is blue glass with metallic colors swirled in, an interesting piece of metal wrapped on it & a gorgeous piece of quartz crystal. It was like $35, what a steal!!! The store has a very cool vibe as well. I'll definitely be going back! Highly recommended!!! read more

Clown Glass is awesome. The place is spotless! It's set up like a beautiful art gallery, and I suppose in a way it is. I love that if I'm going to buy a piece I don't need to go to some grungy hole in the wall shop. The selection is vast, and I mean it. They have little sturdy pieces that run you $10 or huge beautiful pipes that I don't even remember the price of because I will probably never be buying one. The employees are very courteous and let you peruse without hovering over you. If I am ever in need, I will be back for sure. read more

Clown is one of the premier head shops in Minneapolis. For those who indulge in the occasional use of "FULLY LEGAL TOBACCO PRODUCTS", this is the shop to visit when acquiring a new pipe. Other than a small selection of (clearly labelled) commercially-blown pieces, everything in the store comes from their own glassblowing studio in downtown. The pieces there are truly beautiful works of art, in a vast array of colors, shapes, sizes, and degrees of ornamentation: everything from the simplest, plainest, cheapest little pinchies to massive, oversized pipes featuring full sculptures embedded in them. The atmosphere is professional and pleasant. No dark, shady , incense-laden hole-in-the wall, this! The staff are knowledgeable and helpful. They'll only ask once if you need assistance, and if rebuffed, will not continue to pester you every few minutes. That said, when you do want help, there is always someone available to aid you in your quest. Besides all of the beautiful pipes, the store features a large fishtank filled with blown-glass coral sculptures, and it is a thing of beauty. The pipes are sturdy, solid, and well worth every penny. Most of my favorite pieces in my collection have come from Clown, and when it's time for a new addition (or a replacement, as the case occasionally may be), Clown always springs to mind first. read more

Walking by these places makes me wonder how well off glass blower incomes are doing. When you walk past a storefront full of blown glass and several hundred dollar pipes for smoking "tobacco products," I wonder the following things: 1) Who buys this crap? Do people really have $600 to spend on an apparatus for enjoying their "tobacco products" in this area? 2) Who makes this stuff? It's cool but damn is it expensive. 3) Is this someone's cover store? I wonder. It's something to see though. The entertainment of looking at amazingly expensive glass items and the colorful people in the store considering if they can afford what they're selling is at no charge. read more

Truly a wide selection, the sales people are not pushy and are actually friendly, love the music, it looks a like a polished museum, and is all in all a beautiful place to window shop or add to your collection. I walk into clown, expecting only one thing... A new piece. The second you really truly walk into clown, if you're a head, it is heaven!!! There are home blown pieces galore, and they dont skimp on price-quality. Clown glass has all your norms of a headshop, but customer service like NO other, you can find anything you may need there, plus room to grow... I bought my ex a piece here for his birthday and when I walked into the store I must admit, I wasn't really sure what to expect... but my unsurety only added to the amazement that followed entering their storefront. I was expecting it to be just like the neighborhood stores where you walk in and are ok with being in the environment, but would prefer not to be... But this was totally blowing them all out of the water. It's CLEAN! It smells really good, the people are friendly, and they play some kick ass music as well! For all you non-smokers I will say, they have such a wide array of items in there that it's still worth a peek! They have amazingly ornate smoking pipes, and all of the accesories to come with it which is nice, because it was a one stop shop! ((Fun Note: Ask them to do a drop test. They will know what you are talking about and it will scare the shit out of you and amaze you at the same time. They literally THROW a glass piece at the floor to show how difficult it would be to break)). I was so entranced with it that I actually went back and bought a few things for myself! I needed a replacement bowl for an elaborate glass pipe, a much more difficult quest in Minnesota than it had been in Los Angeles. The yellow pages led me to tobacco shops staffed by suspicious foreign men who neither understood what I wanted, nor carried it; "head shops" manned by semiconscious yet bored McDonald's rejects who didn't even much care what I wanted (I'm too old to be cool enough to merit their attention) and similar discouraging venues. Then I found Clown Glass! This place is SERIOUS about their glass. The young woman who was working there the day I went was smart, serious, and well aware of where and WHAT everything in the shop was (yes, I found my replacement bowls - she took one look at the pipe and said "the only ones we have that fit that style are...") The store is full of stunningly beautiful art glass of all sizes and shapes, and worth wandering about just to admire the gorgeous stuff that meets the eye on every side. Clown Glass, despite its unprepossessing name (as far as I'm concerned there are NO good clowns, and that includes the dead ones, because THEY come BACK), is one of the best stores I've found in Minneapolis and a great place to find gifts for that special someone! read more

Make SURE you do your own independent research before buying anything from Clown Glass. I purchased a vaporizer for $100 and it worked once. I called back 3 days after the purchase to trouble shoot and I was told that I had to deal directly with the vendor. You should be able to back up your product for at least 72 hours. read more

Cool place, custom work with great prices. A little pricy but its all handmade so Im not complaining. I got a really nice piece here, unfortunately I broke it (user error) I stop in here quite frequently, my friends love the place. read more
