They're able to do as many activities as they want and there are SO many to choose from. However, you can have plenty of fun there without the wristband. There is a smaller corn pit, animals to pet and feed, and other free activities to enjoy. There are also plenty of food trucks and spots to grab drinks which makes it ideal to spend a few hours there at least! In addition, they do have some apple trees to pick apples from if that's something you're looking for. It does get VERY busy so I'd recommend heading there pretty early. I'm new to discovering The Trailhead at Theodore Wirth Regional Park, but believe me when I say I'll be back many more time. In the winter, they offer cross-country skiing and lessons. (You can rent a full set of gear for about $30- no need to have your own to experience skiing! They also have à la carte options for cheaper if you only need poles or boots, etc.) Besides skiing, outdoor winter activities also include snow tubing, snowboarding, snowshoeing.... You name it. (I haven't been in fall or summer yet, but I also hear great things about their mountain biking and trail running options.) Inside The Trailhead, there's food and drink concessions, ample seating, lockers, bathrooms, and even rooms for rent. The last time I was there, a family was hosting a young child's birthday party in the multi-purpose room. Altogether, there is an amazing assortment of services here to come and check out. They used to serve hot food, but they no longer have that option. The food was not consistent or anything all that special, but it was a nice option. This time we brought Thanksgiving leftovers and some breakfast bagel sandwiches. The space is well maintained and clean. It is spacious and has lots of room for young kids to run around and not be a disturbance. Always look forward to coming here.

Tee boxes, fairways, and greens were well kept. There is a river that hugs a couple of holes to make it interesting. Other than one or two blind holes, as a first time player, the course was easy to understand where to hit. It was a challenging course. I enjoyed the variety or the holes. Staff was welcoming. The club house was able to accommodate our large group in the downstairs area. I am looking forward to come back and play my own ball.

But the last few years we have discovered some really great wineries. They also have live music there pretty often and a full kitchen with food you can order. After our tasting we bought a bottle to enjoy on the patio with some sliders and music. The sliders were not the greatest, just really lacked flavor. Looking around at people's food we were underwhelmed but it is still worth a trip for the wine.

In the time leading up to the wedding, Abby was constantly checking in with us making sure we had everything we needed for our special day. When the wedding day came, everything was perfect. Everything was set up exactly how Abby and I had discussed. We had a brunch themed wedding and the food was absolutely delicious! The waitstaff and bartenders were exceptional. They anticipated the needs we were having but were never in the way. The weather was gorgeous! Abby suggested opening a door to the deck area so guests could be outside and inside. It was one of the best decisions we made for the night. Our guests were able to enjoy the first 72-degree spring day we were having in Minnesota with the beautiful views of the golf course in the background. The whole reception went off without a hitch! Our wedding day was perfect. My husband and I stopped looking at other venues options the second we found Burl Oaks. If you are looking for a place to have your wedding or event, stop.
