Club Fit has two locations, Jefferson and Briarcliff, offering the same services, yet despite an already expensive monthly fee, members must pay an extra $25 to use the other club's pool. They block peak hours by renting lanes to outside groups to push this extra charge. On top of that, two swimmers are forced to share one lane, causing frequent collisions (face, legs, chest, fins), making it unsafe and uncomfortable. This is abusive to paying members. read more

Earlier today I had an encounter at this facility that was a bit disturbing - while in the restroom (which is located in the locker room) a man was walking around in a towel a few feet from the entrance of the room - the man dropped the towel and walked around completely naked, no consideration for any one else who was there - yes I was uncomfortable but I couldn't help but think of the young boys that are there in the gym and what the would experience, not to mention the type of people in this world, who's to say that that guy isnt a pedophile or someone with bad intentions. I brought it up to the employees and they just shrugged it off - which is why I'm leaving this review now so that people, parents, etc are aware that the restrooms/ lockers / showers etc are all together Perhaps having a "kids" bathroom or a safer place would be good - the facility is large enough for it Just my thoughts... read more

Best tennis club/gym in Westchester... 2 clubs that have 14 har tru and 4 hardcourts in total 4 indoor. Which means in the summer if it's raining I can still get some tennis in. Love the option for Jefferson valley and Briarcliff...def join both way more class options read more

I'm not sure what's going on here. The staff isn't as diverse or experienced as I'd like. Showing up for my first massage at club fit, the masseuse barked on me telling me I shouldn't have barged in like that although I was instructed to go to that room at that time. No one asked me what kind of massage I wanted, which was a bit odd. She proceeded with the massage with nothing at all, no lotion, oil, nothing. Then put some roll-on substance with arnica? Super weird. If that was weird enough she put a frigid ice pack under my neck one minute and hot towel on my back the next. And because asking if I had ever had surgery wasn't enough, the masseuse called me a" negro" woman to my face as she continued to gave me the crappiest massage ever. Her nails were super long and scratchy. She had no method to providing a proper massage and always had something to say. When I spoke to management, they claimed they would address it. Treadmills are positioned so ceiling lights reflect in your eyes. A lot of the controls don't work. Otherwise it's a great gym. If you're mostly a treadmill user, you'll want to find another gym. read more

The kid's summer camp and the aftercare program when camp ends have very low standards for the safety of the kids, inexperienced staff, short-staffed with not enough employees to manage the kids, and a director who could care less. She runs out the door at 4pm knowing the aftercare program doesn't have enough employees. They hire young kids with no experience who have no idea how to handle or manage the kids. read more

For the amount they charge, which is on the higher end for a gym you are left wanting more. Their basketball courts are often reserved and unavailable at peak times, bathrooms are disgusting, you have to pay hourly for tennis and there staff is unattentive and inept. Would only attend if you have no other options. read more

I quit this place several years ago because of the spa not being hot enough. After saying for a month they were "working on it" nothing changed. The tipping point came when I complained and one of the staff persons answer was, and I quote "it is what it is and you can cancel your membership if you don't like it." Which I did immediately. I joined again a few weeks ago and the problem persists. And I got another rude response from a staff member when I complained. I'm likely on my way out the door again. Poor poor customer service. The cycle studio has been closed on two weekends in the past month. Saturday is the best day for me to go to spin, but I can't if they keep closing. New bikes weren't worth it. Also, they blocked me on Instagram when I voiced my displeasure. I pay $117 a month and now I can't even follow the gym I pay for on my preferred social media platform. Really poor handling on their part. A message would've been nice instead of being forced into oblivion. Also, the people who play pickle are mean. read more

With all due respect for how this has grown from a small fitness center to the huge facility it is today, my wife had a horrendous experience there. She simply asked the front desk for a brochure or more information if the pool could be used a la carte. Yes or no question. Front desk drone proceeds to antagonize my wife, sees the damage done, and brings in the heavy hitting salesperson from the back. Heavy hitting sales lady, who no doubt is skilled at suggesting as to "why" prospects might want fitness membership, brings up my wife being pregnant. The only problem: She isn't pregnant. She doesn't even look pregnant. Not cool. Very poor judgement by heavy hitting sales lady, and no, we will not be going back. read more

The epitome of "down hill". When I started this gym it was truly an amazing gym: a diverse array of classes, a variety of machines, clean and well kept, the pools (yes, plural) and hot tub was a huge plus over my old gym and the staff was attentive and helpful. I had even recommended it to several of my friends and co-workers and some joined as well. Fast forward a few years and all of the above have gone way down hill and sadly the gym did not take very long at all to become almost unrecognizable to me. I will start with the staff; with the exception of a few, the floor personnel are mostly inattentive and unhelpful and worse, it seems the management treats the staff terribly, even forcing a few to leave. I will direct my disgust particularly at those in the back office who have become unresponsive, dismissive and at times downright rude. Classes have become a smaller selection of mostly watered down cross fit type episodes and machines disappear without notice or replacement. Prices literally have doubled or even tripled for food items, rentals and other amenities over the past two years. The men's locker room has become filthier by the year and there always seems to be a burst pipe somewhere, usually resulting in closures to the family locker room or the pool area. I must also add, the cost of membership is more expensive than most gyms in the area and Club Fit Briarcliff has slowly provided very little in return for what you pay. I paid for a quality gym and this Club Fit location is no longer that, hopefully they can right this ship before it sinks. There should be a sub 1 star rating especially for companies that fix what isn't broken; I do not recommend! read more

Easily the worst run organization I had ever made the mistake of joining. Management is a complete disaster. The gym is beginning to look more run down than ever and their amenities are no longer far and above better than other gyms in the area which cost a fraction of the price. My entire family was treated rudely by management on numerous occasions. Another wonderful trick they pull is increasing your already outrageous monthly membership fee $30 on your 30th birthday. My issue with this was I was never notified my rate was being increased and had to find out when paying my credit card bill. Dealing with this gym is a nightmare... avoid it like the plague. read more

I love this gym, it offers everything I wanted/needed and more. Because I attend other gyms, I can compare them in quality, and ClubFit is first rate in my book. Everything you need is here and can be done indoors, including a track for walking, jogging and running. They even have indoor Tennis and access to instructors (for fee) should you need them. I started going there last year for my first 6 months (I'm bi-coastal), and have taken many of the classes, and so far every instructor is first rate, truly impressed with the quality and professionalism. I also do the lap pool and have had no issues with water temperature or being able to go swimming at preferred times. And their staff and those that greet members at check-in are also very pleasant. The many amenities offered are more than I expected, truly it seems they care about the members. Really hoping they keep up the good work. read more

A once great gym has fallen apart in the past few years. 1. Equipment is now overly cluttered and also old, dusty, with worn off stickers/instructions. 2. Equipment is also always misplaced. Even the trainers have no respect for the gym and you'll see them just toss equipment anywhere. 3. They put in new turf, but just out equipment on top of it - completely ruining the entire point of turf that can be used for more rotational exercises 4. They should not have a "women's section", not only is it sexist if you're having men and women pay the same amount but men aren't allowed to receive the same services. Also very annoying when there's no benches left and a woman is using it when they could be using the benches in the women's section. 5. Now a member for almost 9 months, my appreciation for and love of Club Fit has grown exponentially. This place is just a fantastic gym. Staff is friendly and helpful and there's an ever-present cleaning crew in the locker rooms and around the facilty. The gym is large enough that even when there are a lot of other members working out, one never feels suffocated for lack of space or unavailability of machinery or weights. In the past month or so, the club has acquired two new woodway (self-propelled) treadmills, 5 (or 6?) new stairmills and a Jacob's Ladder machine. New flooring was also installed in certain areas. I love that the club continues to use our dues to improve upon and add new equipment, etc. I now use the women's only room and I love it! It's a small space and the room is never over-crowded. Depending on the time at which I use it, I might have the whole area to myself. One of my favorite things about living in Ossining is the opportunity to use Club Fit. As of August 2013, Astro turf and other functional-type workout equipment was installed/added in the large weights area. I appreciate that Club Fit constantly strives to keep up with the times and adapt its fitness vision to what its members and the current exercise trends demand. They now have many kettlebells, bouncy medicine balls and even a sled pull (!). read more

Club Fit is the top fitness club in Northern Westchester. The Briarcliff branch tends to cater to a more well-heeled crowd, and you'll see a lot of BMWs and Mercedes in the parking lot. It's the kind of place where Muffy drops off the kiddies for their private tennis lessons, then heads to a workout in her designer togs, followed by a massage, then lunch in the cafe. Don't be scared though - everyone is pretty nice. The staff are great, and the quality of the facilities is excellent. The pool in this branch is particularly good, and there's a very shallow section for the smallest kids, which is great if you have toddlers. Tennis is a hallmark of this Club Fit, and there are tons of courts, indoors and outdoors, and the tennis staff are great. There are racquetball courts too, and excellent fitness classes. Go try Kevin's kickboxing class. It's not aerobic foofoo stuff, he's a real martial arts guy who will push you to your limits, all to a beat. My only complaint with Club Fit is cost - rates creep up yearly, and there is not much competition around, so they know they have a lock on the market. read more

What? No reviews of Club Fit?! I came as my stepdad's guest a bunch of times. It's a huge facility, with two sets of locker rooms, track, classes, pool, jacuzzi, and virtual "training computers" which I don't really understand, i think you plug in your personal number or something and the computer tells you what to do based on what you did last. Or something. My description doesn't do it justice, sorry. They have a ton of machines in several rooms, but many of them were malfunctionng. No real complaints, though, because I always ended up with a treadmill that worked. There are a row of TVs that line the ceilings in case you want to watch something. The locker rooms are alright ... Nothing special. They do have towels, and the shower comes equipped with body wash, shampoo, and conditioner (and they smell really good, too!). one positive thing about the lockers is that you use your plastic card to release the key, so you don't have to worry about bringing a lock. (Guests leave a set of keys and get a loaner card if desired.) In general, this place reminds me of a NYSC in many ways, except I guess it's a lot bigger. And, based in the fact that I'm not even a member yet have worked out at Club Fit four times, I'd say they have a pretty great guest policy. read more

Best gym in the area. My entire family uses it. On weekends, my wife and I drop the little one off at the nursery and get our workout on. Hours are super convenient. I'm there at 5 am every morning before I catch the train to the city. The facility is clean and has all of the equipment that one would desire. Staff is courteous and knowledgable. Prior to moving to the area we were in Manhattan and were members at LA Sports Club. While this place isn't as shiny, it's as close as you'll get in the 'burbs. Highly recommended. read more

I travel a lot, and I've been to a LOT of health clubs. I like this club a LOT. Nice layout, good gear, popular so it's busy a lot (full of energy) but rarely so busy that you have to wait for gear, and it's got lot's of "extras" like creative exercise classes, racquet-ball courts, tennis courts, snack bar, good towels, and a basketball gym that seems to always have a welcoming pickup game going on. The place is old..the help are all nice. It's over priced - so many new clubs in the area. Real problem here are the clients that are members. Some of the most nasty, elitist women I ever met. I have belonged to this gym since 2008 and have always enjoyed my time there. Last Friday night I was there very late trying to get in a work out before closing time. The gym closes at 11 pm, while walking on the treadmill one of the gyms employees comes up to me and signals with her fingers that I have 4 minutes left before closing time. In all the years that I have been a loyal member, never have I lagged behind or made the staff stay late for me. I'm fully aware of the time and planned to stop my workout at 11pm and leave the gym. Perhaps the member or customer is the problem in this gym and I should reconsider going back. Her intentions where rude and unnecessary. read more

I went to Club Fit mainly for swimming and basketball. This club is good at first. Then the management close men's pool locker room because of women's locker room renovation(I cannot understand this logic). From Monday to Friday night, the gym always occupied by events until 10pm or close, I don't have any chance to play basketball. If you just need workout, Club fit is too expensive, 5X price than NYSC Blink 3X than YMCA, I don't think it worth to won membership of this club. read more

Never visited the Briarcliff location until today. I am so thrilled I did!! So excited to continue working out at this gym. They have a lot of fitness classes in various studios. The biggest positive for me is that they hold TRX classes in a studio as well!! It's next to impossible to find TRX classes in studio settings. Very excited about this becoming my gym! I think the isolated negative reviews here are definitely outliers. Was considering a much more expensive membership at Life Time Fitness, so so so happy I checked Club Fit Briarcliff out instead!! read more

Find the Liz L. comment regarding employees really surprising. I'd say the friendly and helpful staff is what motivates me to use this particular gym. But everyone has their own experience and, to be fair, I pretty much worked out on my own w/out a trainer most of the time. The personal training experiences I did have were always excellent. My only criticism is that I joined specifically to use their pool facility but you really have to wake up at the crack of dawn or go there later in the evening to get a lane. There are swim classes all day.. Plus -- very young crying and whining children brought in the swim locker rooms escorted by inattentive parents -- Can be annoying and in come cases totally inappopriate - ie little boys who are not so little in the ladies swim locker room and, believe it or not, in the sauna. I have kids, so I "get it" but c'mon people. My advice is if you can schedule going to this place while kids are in school it is a much more pleasant experience. Outside of the pool issue - excellent gym and professional staff and I would encourage anyone to join. read more

Great gym! I joined this week and couldn't be happier. Lots of machines to use. It's such a large gym with many options to choose from. Morning hours are not as crowded as afternoons. Crowd skews a bit older and mature which is nice to see. Membership is a bit pricey but well worth it considering all that the gym has to offer. read more

This definitely the best gym in Westchester. Very clean, plus great equipment and knowledgable staff. I also love the fact they are only two blocks away from the best bagel shop in Westchester, Briar Bagels. After a workout, I love to get an egg white sandwich on a scooped out whole wheat bagel. Club fit is my local gym and is by far one of the cleanest gyms I've ever been too. Even though it has high prices you will not be disappointed with your experience. I especially like the Zumba classes with the hot instructor Nick Logrea;) there is usually a line out the door waiting for his classes which take place on Wednesdays! read more

I have been a member here for over 20 years. I just started tennis and can't believe how supportive they have been. My beginning level was really low and they encouraged me and gave me the opportunity to get better by going out of their way to arrange and find people for me to play with. Only downside... Tennis lessons are expensive! It's like hemorrhaging cash. read more
