This summer I had the goal to work on my flexibility by doing yoga. I've done it here and there…read moreand knew about Flow Yoga as they do classes outside of the studio such as Rooftop Yoga at Titletown Brewing, and Yoga in the Park at Voyager Park in De Pere. What was great was their summer drop-in deal of $8. After attending a beginner's class, the instructor recommended me to try their Slow Flow Yin class on Sunday mornings. I started trying that out every week and really enjoyed it. It's more of a long stretching class than a normal yoga class. Val is a great instructor as she always asks what the class wants to focus on. If no one pipes up, she always has a great plan in mind. She does a great job of keeping this light with a little humor, but also staying calm and keeping us all relaxed. What I enjoy is that you don't have super bendy to get a good stretch. They have items such as the blocks, pads, and a stretching band that helps you get the stretch that you're supposed to get. Summer is at an end I'm now considering getting a membership there.

However, we tried Gladiator Yoga, which was a challenging yet rewarding 60 minutes. Allie was super sweet and helpful for us first timers giving us a lot of options for each move; beginner, intermediate and advanced. Safety first, she provided excellent instruction and focused first on her clients and last on her workout. She went out of her way to ensure she knew the first name of each person in the class. Finally, she refused payment stating that the first class is always free. We will be back, thanks Allie!

I dropped in for a class to see if it was a space I might like to continue in. Jen complimented my…read moreextension and then proceeded to hold my leg & stretch it too far backward which according to the orthopedic physician, injured a muscle & attached tendon in my inner upper thigh. This was over a year ago and despite taking good care of that area, I still experience pain and limited range of motion which I'm obviously not happy about, but I have no recourse due to signing her release of liability. Please be careful about following her instructions or allowing her to physically move your body, do only what feels right to you.
