I have been taking Agnes classes for 2 years ( took a break while pregnant ) and started back up a month post partum. In the beginner class, you can take it easy as you need if you're starting out and gradually add more to challenging yourself. She changes up her flow and class every week, so you are consistently working different areas of the body. I took yoga classes at random and used to feel it a slow boring waste of time more or less a relaxing class that does "stretching". I love to lift and do intense endurance cardio. It wasn't until going here consistently that I was blown away with the fitness aspect of yoga- the strength/flexibility/core stability/etc. involved. You will be challenged more than you possibly think and I promise the health benefits, both mentally and physically, will surprise you! I highly recommend Melt and the classes here. Side note: The owner rocks.

You walk in and the front desk is more of a hang out spot for the employees to chat amongst themselves instead of being customer service oriented. It's a higher end gym, you would think the members would be treated as such. The classes, have the right equipment, but the up beat energy of instructors to motivate and hype up the members and command a class is missing. I took a cycling class, great music, great ambiance and lighting, but the motivation, excitement, and hype at the front of the room from the instructors was sad and lacking. I tried many different times and different instructors, but sadly didn't find anything other than lacking. They seemed nice though. I do come from a high end gym, Club Studio, in Irvine CA. where their classes are all one big epic party while working out with great ambiance, great sound system, great mood lighting, and top notch instructors that elevate and motivate you throughout the whole class. Sadly, they do not have a Club Studio yet in Rockford and I did end up leaving Peak. Couldn't really justify the price of the membership at Peak when you can get close to the same amenities at any other gym in the area. Good gym. Nothing special. Not worth the hype.

I have a bad back Sondra has designed a Pilates program around my injury. After being her client for 4 years I am in the best shape of my life. She also has a wonderful staff of instructors.
