Just to start I paid for food I did not get I ordered the tender basket with fries and added fried pickles and a side of fries everything is very expensive already and to top it off you get your order and you missing the add on stuff and when you tell them they say oh sorry i will get it 5 min i wait 10 still nothing the store was about to close I was going to and they had no customers this is not acceptable i asked for a refund for the items i didnt get she keep saying 5 min i have already waited 20 min for the food to come to only be missing half the order and wait an additional 10 min i dont have all night i work i will never go back there again no compensation nothing my money just gone read more

I pass this place almost every day on my daily commute to work. As another poster said before me, the hot chicken craze has come to Houston and is everywhere. My gripe is that it usually does not involve the Nashville hot style of Hot chicken. There is only one place I've been to that does it right. Long story short, Clutch City Chicken is okay. In my personal opinion, I'm not a fan of hard-breaded chicken, and the hottest chicken was mild compared to other places I've been to. This place is also expensive, to feed two people some fried chicken you are looking at spending about $40, I won't begin to say what I can do with $40 worth of food. Sorry this post sounds so negative, the chicken sandwich is good and I like the signature branding mark on the bun. I've been passing by this place for a long time. Never when I needed food. Today was headed to church and needed to grab something on the way. Placed an order online and it was ready right on time. I got the sandwich topped with slaw with the Clutch it hot seasoning. It warm but in a pleasant way. Given that it is seasoned and not sauced makes the heat hit differently. But I love super hot and it was easily doable. Everything was fresh, slaw was crunchy. Fries were perfectly done. What more could you ask for. Don't wait two years to try it like I did. read more

My husband heard of this place off of instagram so we decided to find it's Spring location. We came for the milkshakes but decided to try the shrimp tacos as well. The milkshake wasn't good at all. It was so watered down I felt like I was drinking plain milk with chunks of Oreo cookies. I didn't even finish it. The shrimp tacos on the other hand were really good. It had red cabbage, 3 big pieces of shrimp on a flour tortilla. Although I love a lot of sauce my husband did not. It was drenched in their specialty sauce. He liked it but it was too much. This location is outside a small icehouse/convenience store. Location is good and they have plenty of parking. I gave this place because the milkshake was very disappointing and a little overpriced in my opinion. As you can see in my picture it really does look like plain milk and cookies. This food truck serves your typical fried chicken; tenders and sandwiches along with fries, tacos and salads. They have drinks selection as well, albeit very limited, along with some family oriented menus. I've been to this place a couple of times and I've had their sandwich with one tender and the tender basket. The chicken is cooked to perfection and the spice rub that they use is the touch of Midas; it's flavorful yet spicy and doesn't stop you from digging into it more. Its kind of addicting... which is weird to say about a chicken tender, right? They have their branding on the bun which is a nice touch. Not everything about this place is excellent, the fries in my honest opinion, would need some kind of flavoring, it's just very plain compared to the chicken and isn't appealing. The prices also are on the higher end of the spectrum and the realization hits you really fast that this isn't a sit down restaurant. A take out food for 2 with some tenders and drinks will cost you anywhere from $35-$50, yikes! They do partner with food delivery services if you'd like to get food delivered, and the parking lot has ample parking space, should you choose to get takeout. Clutch city clukers is a predominantly fried chicken food truck with some serious spice. The quantity is plentiful, the service is quick and chicken is absolutely delectable. I've been so eager to try Clutch City Cluckers and they did not disappoint!!! We ordered the loaded fries, tender basket and the cheesy bun. Everything was delicious! The chicken tenders and big and juicy and the flavor from the spice is great! I'm a spice lover and tried out the extra hot and it was spicy but well worth the burn! My husband and I see this place on instagram often and decided to stop by once we found their food truck. I got a wing basket, and a chicken sandwich. My husband got loaded fries and an Oreo shake. My sandwich was very tasty. The bread tasted similar to challah bread... the tenders were cooked perfectly and so were the wings. I asked for them to be all flats and extra crispy. I didn't get all flats but they we're definitely extra crispy. I recently tried Houston Hot Chicken and I can say their customer service and food have nothing on Clutch City Cluckers. Had the late night munchies and been hearing about this food truck and saw the reviews on instagram and decided to check it out. Order myself the 20 wings with lemon pepper, barbecue sauce, and buffalo and man let me tell you that first bite was delicious. The outside had the right amount of crispiness and the chicken itself was extremely juicy. All meals are made to order. Waited about 20-30 minutes with about only two people in front of me so if you're in a rush, I highly recommend an online or call in order. Service was pretty decent also. This was the Louetta road location so I can't speak on the other spots. If you're a wing lover, I'm confident enough to say I don't believe you'll be disappointed. The lemon pepper wings were a tad salty but the wings itself was so good that the extra saltiness was forgivable. After a year I thought ild give it a try, whoever decided you needed 2 whole hamburger buns or four slices of bread on a sandwich is an idiot. And to charge 17 bucks for a bunch of bread is a sham. A couple of years ago I discovered Hot Chicken when I attended a cat show in Knoxville, TN. Since that time, the Hot Chicken craze has come to Houston and I've been trying out as many of these establishments as I come across. Clutch City Cluckers is a fairly new food truck parked in the Eskimo Hut lot. We ordered a no spice 2 finger chicken basket for $12.99 and large loaded tender fries medium spice for $11.99. The tenders were about the same size as what you'd find at The Cook Shack. Breading was crisp and the chicken was tender. You could tell it was freshly made. You get a lot of crispy fries and a grilled slice of bread. I wish it had come with pickles, but I did get what amounted to "Raisin Cane's" sauce to dip the tenders in. The loaded tender fries was topped with cut up tenders, cheese sauce but no "Cane's" sauce. It did come with a couple of pickles and was only slightly spicy so if your looking for spice , you'll want to go higher than medium. I thought it was good but they do not fill the box to the rim as shown in their photos. The wait for our order was about 20 mins so you may want to order ahead. This food truck is very similar to the Main Bird food truck that was on Louetta until a car crashed into it. The food is good but not amazing and certainly not on the level of what you'd find in Tennessee. Next time I visit, I will try their fried pickles! read more

Some of the best hot chicken in Houston. Very well spiced and good-sized. Extra hot is the right spice level for me, but it's generally pretty consistent for spice levels, which a lot of places vary widely on. Main area of improvement is the fries aren't great. If they worked on these and gave us Cajun or something more flavored, this would be really exceptional. read more
