    Jambalaya with Shrimp
    Shannon R.

Stopped by spur of the moment. It had been a while since I visited 403 Eats and wanted to try the new food trucks. I wish I had stopped by sooner. I went with Queenie B's as the food sounded fantastic- the owner was so sweet and inviting. I ordered the Jambalaya with shrimp. It was so flavorful, packed with delicious sausage and shrimp. All the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh. As hungry as I was she was not shy on portion size, I happily have some for later. I am excited to go back and try other items!

Maverick loved the left over ribs Queenie gifted him!

Queenie B's is amazing! The food and the service is top notch. Queenie loved our pup and hooked him up with some ribs, he thought it was great too. Great people, we will be back.

Amazing food!!! Came on a beautiful day for lunch and the special of the day was gumbo, best gumbo in the area with great service!! If you're looking for authentic food this is the place!

The red beans and rice were terrible, and the beignets were overcooked and had wayy too much sugar. 403 eats was nice though.

Service was excellent…read more Ambiance--usual diner feel Food: Ox tails delicious--tad too spicy but I enjoyed every bite! Rice & gravy gummy with no seasoning! Cabbage was good--greens very spicy! Gave to my sister who rated 9 out of 10 would recommend. Cornbread was like hard day old bread and went into the trash! Bbq platter: BIL loved his plate! Said potato salad was meh but all else good! Hotlinks, ribs, and beans! Sister got fried chicken and added mac&cheese along with yams! Chicken was fresh but not seasoned much! Mac&cheese good for diner menu option, and yams were okay she said! Greasy spoon Mac is better IMO but Granny's oxtails the best I've had here in H-town! Although spicy/hot food is not my favorite I did enjoy them If the cornbread were softer & sweeter I think the rating would be 4! Would I go back? Hmm! Yea for the tails of course! I saw they have catfish & black eyed peas so I may try those next time as well! Overall 3.5 but can't do half stars By default I left it at 4

Everything was seasoned to perfection! The service was also professional, a huge plus. From the moment you walk in, it gives a homey feeling/atmosphere. Anytime we're in the mood for soul food or some real homestyle-like cooking - we'll be at Granny Dee's for sure!

The portions were generous, and everything was full of flavor. Cam was a wonderful host, and she is hilarious too! I visited for lunch on a weekday where they have daily specials which save a few dollars off of the regular price. Upon reaching the steam table their digital display still had the previous days entrees, so I had to wait to get up to the counter to see the selection for the day which consists of 6-7 entrees. With the regular meals, you receive an entree, 2 sides, rice and cornbread. They offer tea, Pepsi products and for alcohol, it's beer, wine and daiquiris. They have loud r&b music playing in the background. I chose the "red" meatloaf (they have brown or red sauce), collards and Mac n cheese. Keep in mind they serve your food and drinks in to go packaging, regardless of whether you dine in, or get it to go. Food portions are large too. The meatloaf portion I received was large, delicious and juicy. The slice was around 2 inches thick. The mac n cheese was good, and actually ended up being my favorite item. The collards are pretty typical with a lot of vinegar and cooked for a long time. Below the meatloaf was a base of white rice and brown gravy which is basically a filler. You receive 2 cornbread muffins, which I don't really eat but I ate a couple bites and they are pretty sweet. The owner/manager was friendly and greeted me while in line, stopped by my table to check on me, and even said goodbye as I was leaving.

I saw the sign for Catfish Station across the street and asked the locals about it, and everyone seemed to give it great reviews. Fast forward to now, they were absolutely correct. I ordered the combination plate with fish, jumbo shrimp, fries, and a side of Gumbo soup. This wasn't a dish sitting under a hot light waiting to be ordered; nope, this was cooked to order. It came out piping hot and crispy. Did you see the size of my Gumbo bowl? This was a side dish that was only 6 dollars. My niece ordered the chicken and fries basket; it was very tender and tasty. We also ordered a bowl of pasta with a side salad, which was good. Also, let me add that the dining area is huge, with plenty of seating. I wanted to mention that because you will see plenty of cars in the parking lot and for obvious reasons. Side note, the parking area is very big and accommodating. The customer service is superb, too. I had a friendly conversation with the nice man who took my order. As I said before, this was my first time here, and he was so nice showing, explaining the menu, and talking about other things in general.

Fried mushrooms are great, chicken noodle soup great. The flavor of the chicken fried steak and fried pork chop were good but the breading come off which is a bit of a deal breaker for me. I may give it one more try but there are too many more spots to try. Service one the first visit was better than the second.

Upon first glance of the interior, it looks like this space used to be a bar or something with a huge bar area in the middle of the space off to the right side. There are many circular cut outs in the ceiling where huge room fans are installed. They make all their dressings homemade, and hand bread many of their fried items like mushrooms, onion rings and stuffed jalapeños. They have salads, burgers, and 12 different comfort food entrees. They also have a daily special menu that spotlights a couple items of the day and their coffees, soups and dessert. They are a beer and wine restaurant. One unique item they have on the menu is a fork and knife hot dog which costs $13. Wow, this better be one awesome hot dog. The day I visited, they had a party for about 30 senior citizens that were celebrating a birthday. Normally that many customers in a single group would make a restaurant pretty loud, but it was actually extremely quiet in the restaurant. Every good restaurant does something slightly different to set them apart. Here at dinner, they give you a dinner roll slathered in melted honey butter and rosemary. The roll itself seemed to be made from frozen dough, but the tasty butter made it edible. I ordered the chicken club and kept the fries as my side. As far as presentation, I'd give it a C. The fries are frozen breaded fries. The sandwich tasted better than it looked thankfully. Service was good throughout my time here. Overall, the meal was good enough and I will be coming back to try other options.
