    Chopped cheese fries

I've ate here 3-4 times, and was never impressed. It is just a great late night option since it's halal. But tonight, was different, who ever was back there cooking the food needs a raise!! The young man was so nice, quick, and my chopped cheese fries are sooo good. Last few times the food was lacking. But my expectations were exceeded today. I want to go back and tip that kid again, cause he really put in 100%.

If you're in the mood for a high-quality hotdog experience with a side of urban grit, Mad Dog's food truck in the Moosa Colony food park off Highway 6 in Sugarland has you covered. Or, at least, your hotdog wrapper covered. First impressions? The vibe is... post-apocalyptic chic. A dozen food trucks grace this lot, but on a Sunday afternoon, only two were brave enough to open their hatches. Ordering is via kiosk--convenient but a tad dystopian. The dining area is a charming mélange of greasy tables and trash cans on the brink of rebellion. Bring your own Wet Wipes and lower your expectations for ambiance. We went all in: an Elote dog, a chili cheese dog, chili cheese fries, and regular fries. The Elote Dog Let's start with my choice, the Elote dog. High marks for the hotdog itself--it's sliced down the middle, grilled to perfection, and downright luxurious for a hotdog. The bun was fluffy, fresh, and resilient (no soggy mess here). The toppings were lime-forward, which I appreciated, but the disappointment came with the cream cheese and corn that decided the paper wrapper was a better home. Honestly, scraping your wrapper for flavor shouldn't be part of the dining experience, but here we are. The Chili Cheese Dog & Fries My husband braved the chili cheese dog, which was tasty but leaned greasy. That chili worked double duty on the fries, which held up admirably under its weight. The fries deserve their own standing ovation--crispy, golden, and soft on the inside. Between the two types, we'd crown the plain fries the winner of the day. The Verdict Mad Dog's hotdogs are undeniably delicious, with premium beef and buns that are MVPs in the fast-food world. The chili? Decent, but perhaps it needs a spa day to relax the grease levels. The food park itself, however, is a chaotic neutral character in this story--serviceable, but not a place you'd bring someone to impress them. Final Thoughts Would we return? Sure, but we'd bring our own napkins, a garbage bag for the table, and maybe a hazmat suit for the trash cans. Mad Dog's is a culinary diamond in the rough... emphasis on rough.

Haven't had a hotdog place that I can go to and KNOW I will enjoy since JCI closed down. I stumbled across this location one late night when I was craving food. I don't like fast food restaurants. It only took me one bite and I knew I would be back soon! Just full of flavor and not skimpy like other hotdogs places you find, that really makes a difference. Ordering is simple and easy, and the gas station parking lot they are in is well lit, and has some tables to sit at when waiting or eating. They're many locations as well in the city so I hope this one stays here for a while.

Great hotdogs I know for a fact I will try more on the menu.. the smash burgers look very tasty .

This placed was really good! I had the Elote hotdog, and it did not disappoint. I felt like it was a little pricey. For two hot dogs, a side of elote, a Dublin coke, and a side of season fries, we paid about 35 bucks. I got the seasoned fries, but they were not seasoned enough in my opinion. Overall, I will be back in the future to try some other hotdogs. I did not give a five star rating due to the price and lack of seasoning.

These hot dogs were very good!! Definitely recommend! I tried the Mad Dog the way it comes & I went back for another Mad Dog is simple but seriously good, definitely going to try another on the menu next time. I am picky with weenies but these are beef links & are worth a try!

I love hotdog and I have never had one from a food truck. The food truck is parked at a gas station, and there are other food trucks in the lot too. There isn't a big parking space so I could imagine the bad traffic during peak hours. There is no tables nor chairs nor benches for anyone to sit around to enjoy the food. Car is the way to go. Menu is on the truck, and order and payment were quick and easy via the device outside the truck. I had the elote dog in non-spicy beef. While the beef link was ok, the roasted corn wasn't fresh and wasn't roasted enough. There wasn't enough Parmesan on the hotdog too. The bun was plain and nothing more. It could be better. Overall from what I had, the food didn't stand out nor wowed me.

So the Mr was in the mood for chili cheese dogs and had googled places that sell them near us and this place popped up. We initially thought it was a brick and mortar but soon realized that it was a food truck. The menu is pretty basic smash burgers, a few different chili dog options and loades fries. We stepped up to the kiosk in front ordered the chili cheese dog, loaded fries, and double smash burger combo person at window said it would be about 10-15 minutes it actually turned out to be 30+ minutes, they were getting constant pick up orders so we thought this place has to be good. We got our food and decided to eat there. Our food was lukewarm(very disappointing) the burger wasn't seasoned well (I would assume they rely on their special sauce) the fries were somewhat soggy. The loaded fries were actually hot. The chili was mediocre. We had sat there eating and the manager/owner walked out and asked how was it we told him it was cold and handed him the whole burger I wasn't going to eat and he apologized and made me a new one and said they had got bombarded he was very apologetic. The new HOT burger was better still not alot of seasoning though. We won't be in a rush to go back but we are willing to give it another go solely on customer service and the willingness to make it RIGHT. They were getting alot of business though..

    Heather B.

Ordered 2 double smash burgers, a chili cheese dog, a brisket dog, & fries - the fries were missing and the hot dogs were absolutely burned and charred. Everything else was good - but the bitter char on the hot dogs made it awful. Pics included to show how black these were.

We got the regular mad dog to get a basis of how the hot dogs were. If you ever had Yo-yo's hotdogs, then it's the same concept but if not, the meat with the condiments really do compliment each other. We also got the smash burger which was 9/10 amazing, it was pretty small for the price of $6 but the patty was very well seasoned. The fries... oh fries... 10/10. Just try them. We thought the lemonade was hand crafted however it came in a glass bottle but surprisingly I would get it again. I'd like to come back to try the other options as well but so far it's a good place to try especially late nights.

We came a little earlier and there was already a long line. I heard that if you order in advance, you can skip the line. While you wait, the employees walk around and you can order a drink. Which is nice if you're waiting a while and it gets hot. The employees were all very nice and ambiance is how you would expect a regular bbq restaurant to be. There are plenty of seating outside but limited inside. The seats are all first come first serve, so usually the inside seating runs out first. We ordered 1/2lb ribs, 1/2lb brisket, 1/2lb sausages, and some sides like Mac&cheese, beans, loaded potato, cobbler, etc. total was about $120 after tip. The food was very delicious and worth the drive. Although, I will say that it doesn't taste that much different from my other favorite bbq restaurants. I was still a great experience and very delicious. I highly recommend to try if you're in the area.

Since they were awarded their Michelin star, I've been wanting to try CorkScrew... in particular,…read moretheir beef rib. Beef ribs are my go to bbq protein, and not many places have them. I've tried those deemed "the best," including Salt Lick in Driftwood and Killen's. So how did CorkScrew measure up? In addition to the beef rib, we tried the moist brisket, pulled pork, and sausage. We also tried several sides, including those recommended in the Michelin review: potato salad, mac and cheese, smokey beans, and coleslaw, and I picked up a peach cobbler, as well. The beef rib: STELLAR. This was outstanding with its flavorful bark and an impossibly tender texture that truly melts in your mouth, unlike any other beef rib I've ever had. Easily the very best beef rib, without a doubt. The brisket was delicious, as well: tender and flavorful. The sausage was nothing special... on par with sausage elsewhere, as was the pork. As for the sides, I've never been a fan of beans, but since the Michelin review specifically mentioned them, I gave them a try. I'm a fan! I would definitely order these again. Their smokiness is gently tamed by a touch of sweetness. The rest? Very average. The mac and cheese tasted like the stuff I had in my elementary school cafeteria - very un-special. The potato salad was salty and was missing any semblance of potato chunks. The texture was oddly like lumpy mashed potatoes. But the other surprise for me: the cobbler. This was simply and divinely perfect with crisp, sweet buttery crumble. A wonderful way to end a hearty meal. I'm so glad I ordered our food online for pickup. When I arrived at 1pm, the line was wrapped around the building. Pickup was very easy: I texted them when I arrived, and they replied when they were ready for me to go in and retrieve it. But even if there wasn't a line, I would never eat there: the restaurant is too divey for me: very rustic, picnic-like feel both inside and out, and it was uncomfortably warm and humid (again, inside and out.) The staff was very friendly and cheerful. Glad i tried it, and when i get a hankering for a good beef rib, this is definitely where I'll be getting it!

Their happy hour ends at 6pm, but I arrived at 7pm so I ended up missing the discounted drinks. I ordered the cod and shrimp pita which ended up being slightly different than the regular gyro. I had to set it down after a couple of bites since the wheat pita bread is much thinner than regular pita bread and it kept falling apart on me. I also added a mango mojito. With a name like Island Grill, I sort of expected to see more tropical drinks or rum-based cocktails show up on the menu, but this was about the only one. But after that, I have to say that I will say that I like how quick the service was. You can see them making your food fresh after ordering and I appreciate that they tried to move quickly because there were people going in and out on the Saturday afternoon I was there. I personally don't like the thick bread and prefer the pita pocket style of rolls, but that's just personal preference. So I'm not even counting that part of the review. Because I expected it to have the thinner bread, I asked them to cut it. I usually like to have my sandwich cut in the middle, so I can eat half of it while driving since I'm almost always on the go. When they cut half of the sandwich, the aluminum foil bits were inside of the sandwich and that was really annoying because I had to pick off almost half of the sandwich from the ends of the sandwich just to make sure I didn't eat any bits of aluminum foil. I would ask them to either cut sandwiches in half separately before wrapping or have better quality aluminum foil (You can see the aluminum foil in the pictures). The sauce and meat was good and the veggies seemed fresh. I'm not knocking this place down, I'll definitely be back to try out again but just something to be aware of. I think the gyro wrap might just be growing on me. All in all, if you like a fluffy, smaller sanplacedwich like they do up north, instead of a longer shawarma wrap, definitely try this place out!

So if you've had Panda Express teriyaki chicken before, that's probably the closest comparison I could give. One thing that definitely made the bowls even better was adding the soy sauce packets they had on the side. That extra flavor pulled everything together for me. Overall, I enjoyed it.
