Our group of 17, including five kids ( 5 years and under), was looking forward to a relaxing weekend getaway in a cabin with beautiful views. What we got instead was a nightmare that started in the early morning hours of January 25, 2025. We checked in around 4:15 PM on January 24, full of excitement. But by 3:30 AM (Jan 25), we lost power. It was pitch dark, and we were left scrambling to find anything we could to make it through the night. With five young children, we decided to wait until morning to figure things out. The power briefly came back on, giving us a glimmer of hope, only to go out again by 8:30 AM. The hosts assured us the power would be back on soon, mentioning that "their church still had power." As if that somehow made it better. We decided to go into town, spending a few hundred dollars on food that was as mediocre as it was overpriced while dragging five tired, cranky kids along for the ride. Fast forward to us talking to the locals and the electric company, only to discover that this was a planned outage, which we were never told about. Had we known, we would have rescheduled our trip for another weekend. But no, we were told the power would be back by 3 PM. Spoiler: it wasn't. We returned to the cabin, still holding out hope, but by 5 PM, it was clear we were getting nowhere. Our texts to the hosts provided no help other than suggesting going back into town to go have dinner and saying "well our other guests are making the most of it." By 6:30 PM, we were freezing in a house with no heat, no light, and only one lonely candle the hosts kindly provided. We were sitting in our snow gear and still could not warm up! We realized we had to cut our trip short. All of our food was spoiled--hundreds of dollars down the drain. We had no choice but to pack up and leave, braving the mountain roads in fog so thick we could not see more than 75 ft ahead of us while also dealing with snow fall and some hail. The hosts tried to claim the storm didn't start until Sunday night in a response to another review, but we have dashcam footage and photos showing substantial snow on the ground Sunday morning. I have attached a video of the END of our hour and a half Drive down the mountain. This is when conditions became clearer. The first hour and 20 minutes of the drive down were 20x worse than the video. While we don't expect the hosts to control the power outage ( obviously) , the complete lack of communication, preparation, and empathy was downright appalling. No flashlights, no candles, and certainly no offer to make things right. We had to fight tooth and nail just to get $2,000 back from a $4,000 trip. So, we essentially paid $2,000 to have a cabin with power for less than 12 hours, watch most of our food go bad, and then make a dangerous drive down the mountain with crying kids in tow. What a vacation. Hosts/owners of the company respond with snide comments and are rude to anyone who gives them ANY criticism. You can see for yourself HERE and on the AirBnB reviews. Shows you more about their character than anything I can say. If you're looking for kind, responsible, considerate hosts and a place where you might actually get what you paid for, do yourself a favor and book elsewhere. This place? Not it. You've been warned.

I contacted the larger property managers in Big Bear prior to signing on with RSVacations. Kenny was the only one to return my phone call and actually met me at my property to go over things with me to assure the property meets the city of Big Bear rental guidelines and made me feel at ease with my property management selection. We were a few days away from closing escrow on a house in Big Bear when we started looking for property management companies. Based on the 100% positive yelp reviews and great initial conversation with Miguel, we decided to go with CA Mountain Rentals to help us manage the property. Immediately paid off. The day after we signed paperwork with him (which was also the day we were to transfer the funds and close escrow on the house), Miguel decided he wanted to stop by the new place to check it out (a testament to his thorough nature... we didn't ask him to stop by, he just did). When he did, he noticed something that our realtor, property inspector, and seller/sellers agent all failed to mention or notice... the fact that both the parking spots and a decent portion of the stairs were built on city property, meaning it would not be allowed in the vacation rental program (a big part of the equation for us), and the city could tell us at anytime that we needed to rip the stairs down and move THE MOUNTAIN about 12 feet back, probably a 6 figure, months long project! After confirming this with the city (also coordinated by Miguel), we were able to get our deposit back and walk away. We were roughly an hour from going to the bank to wire the money when Miguel called to let us know. Major bullet dodged. Original real estate agent fired. Enter EXP realty. Working with Miguel & Amber on the real estate purchase side was equally fruitful and easy. They were incredibly responsive & insightful about the local market, introduced us to contractors, and even went by the local Spectrum office for us to help get internet setup when the corporate office was being uncooperative! We just closed escrow on a new (and much nicer) house 60 days later and couldn't be happier. Needless to say, they've gone above and beyond and it's been a pleasure to work with them. We couldn't recommend them highly enough, and look forward to doing business with them for a long time.

Simon is the proud owner and services the entire SoCal area. My pick was scheduled for 4:00pm in a Thursday with a flight was out of ONT by 6:00pm. I finished my meeting a bit early and jones'n about traffic this time of day. I called Simon to see if we could leave sooner. Damn, he's already here parked around the corner! Yes, traffic was terrible, but Simon was chill and told me not to worry. With a combination of surface streets and highways, we made it with plenty of time to spare. Safely too! I've had my share of black car experiences and my ride Simon was by far the best! It's his car and company. Simon had great pride in what he does!

I called them to inquire about their cancelation policy and was told they were not canceling rental properties and were essentially going to ignore the state orders. After a heated conversation with the owner Ryan, he sent me an email that my reservation was canceled because they wanted to offer the place to someone else. He said I'd get a refund minus 5%. Our reservation was $7k, so 5% is almost $400. Keep in mind - I didn't give authority to cancel my reservation. He told me it couldn't be canceled, then sent me an email canceling it. He canceled my reservation, immediately rebooked it, and still charged me $400. You could literally create a business by booking and canceling people all day long. What a scam. Horrible customer service, unethical, breaking the law, and thieves. I've already reported them.

Took the kids to the zoo. Also I left my travel jewelry box there after we left. I called Melissa and one of the cleaning crew turned it in. Melissa mailed it to me and I just received it with all the jewelry in tact. I'm forever grateful and would highly recommend their prompt customer service. Despite paying more than $XX,XXX, the home was extremely outdated, and the bathrooms were non-functional after they had mentioned everything has been recently updated. Out of five families, each with multiple children, we were forced to share one single working restroom--a completely unacceptable situation for the price we paid. We contacted the management multiple times, yet nothing was done to properly address the situation. The worst part? They promised a refund but are now refusing to return our money, holding it hostage instead. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. There are properties that are not only a million times better but also don't gouge you with ridiculous prices or scam you by withholding refunds. Avoid this place at all costs.
