This is a great program. Duncan is the best there is in my opinion. He is very knowledgeable and a great personality. He explains everything he does. This is a great program. For $99.00 they go thru your house after setting up the fan in door opening to create vacuum throughout house, replace all incandescent bulbs with soft light CFL's, replace 4 locations of your choice with soft LED's, caulk all trim trim on outside outside doors, and windows, install weather stripping on all outside doors, inspect furnace and report to you efficiency, replace all shower heads with low flow and give you a choice of stationary head or wand type head. He sits down with you and goes over all the issues he finds which will increase your energy bill, wth no obligation to get them fixed. They send you a final report in about a week or two. The most amazing thing about this program is the rebates you receive if, for example, I got a $500 rebate from state for adding add'l insulation in my attic. I got a $50.00 for buying a energy saving refrigerator. In addition, Duncan goes over the entire rebate program with you from thermostats, hot water heaters, solar panels and a host of other you qualify for rebates. This is a really great program. The crew arrived at the scheduled time and were very polite and courteous. They explained everything that they were going to be looking at and after I gave them a tour of the house they set to work right away. I needed only one lightbulb replaced so they were able to spend more time on some larger issues I had on my second floor. There was another crew available that afternoon and they stopped by to help and were able to accomplish a lot. Thanks Duncan, Dyle and Tony! When they were done I sat down with Brett and he explained everything they did. He reviewed the test result with me. He recommended I get some additional insulation and gave me the details for rebate and special financing programs for that. The techs are very knowledgeable about all the different aspects of the program. Brett is very passionate about clean energy and it's positive impact on future generations. I am certainly going to recommend this program to my family and friends. It was no charge to me because it was offered free to Wallingford residents, but even if I had to pay for it is definitely worth it! You will reap the benefits for years to come. read more

Lenny and Andrew did an awesome job during my energy audit. They arrived about ten minutes early, introduced themselves and kept my house clean. They were very thorough throughout. From attic to basement and everything in between they didn't miss a single crack. installing weather stripping on all of the doors, caulking the floorboards, replacing lightbulbs, this was totally worth the $124. They had a reduction of just under 1000 for my house which is amazing. I had an issue with my attic door not closing properly, so they went ahead and installed plenty of weather stripping, and two locks for it and it makes a world of difference for my heating. They were also very approachable the entire time without any type of awkwardness. They answered any and all of my questions and took pride in their work. Today Nate and Rob did an energy audit on my residence and were here promptly at 9am and finished by noon. They measured and located all air leaks from my windows in all rooms, caulked and minimized the leakage; replaced 16 bulbs with energy efficient bulbs; replaced the faucet head in the kitchen and bathroom as well as replacing the shower head. The initial reading in my residence was 1200 after they simulated 25 mph wind leaving my home with their fan and tent set up at my back door, and when they left my reading had dropped to 615, a very substantial improvement regarding sealing leaks, door drafts, etc and making my home cooler in the summer and maintaining heat and comfort during the winter months. This is a great service that will save you money over the years, was very very satisfied with their professionalism and efficiency of their work. read more

An energy audit was performed at my home by Duncan and Moses today. I knew the audit was going to start off on an excellent note when they arrived 5 minutes early, in spite of thev long ride to Sharon, CT. They were very professional, polite, knowledgeable, and friendly. Before they stepped into my home they asked if I preferred them to put booties over their shoes. I loved the respect shown for my home. They explained the program, toured my home and went to work. Although they couldn't do a blow test on the home because of a problem with the furnaces lack of air exchange, they instantly did a referral to Healthy Homes where that problem will be addressed. These are young strong men, that did not have the courtesy to park their huge vans in the lot across the building. They could have unloaded their equipment first, next to the building, then park across the road in the spacious visitors lot. Instead these men chose to park in the allotted 3 small visitors space. In doing so made it difficult, for the mostly elderly disabled ladies that are residents, to park their car for less than 2 minutes to take their trash bags to the dumpster(these elderly ladies, put their refuse in the trunk of their car and drive to the visitor's parking nearest the dumpster). Plus several ladies almost fell on the ice and snow walking all the way around to the dumpster because CMC Energy men have NO manners, and are thoughtless inconsiderate workers. read more

We got a home energy audit with these guys, and it was very helpful! They found the drafts, fixed them all over the house, and gave some great suggestions. Plus we got some free LED bulbs, and there was a huge reduction in the air flow in & out of the house. Thanks Lenny! My only constructive criticism is that the attic stair cover could have been a little more well-designed. It is made of an insulating styrofoam material, which is fine except that the handles of the cover are attached with metal screws... and metal screws don't work so well in styrofoam. Hopefully they will switch to a different cover soon. But that's not the fault of the technicians. Anyway, the energy audit was easily worth the small cost, and I recommend Competitive Resources to everyone! read more

A few weeks ago they came out as part of our Solar Installation. Changed a bunch of light bulbs, put on some door sweeps and caulked some windows and open areas. They also went around my house and drilled holes in my walls looking for insulation. Well they never plugged those holes, so now I have holes in every room of my house that I have to plug. They also put a lock on my pull down attic hatch which defeats the whole purpose of 'Pull Down' As for the caulking work, they skipped 2 rooms that could have used some caulking, so not very efficient. They also installed weather stripping on some doors in my house and one is wooden so when it swells with the heat you can not close. Other than that they were very pleasant and knew what they were doing. read more

This is a wonderful program. They were thorough, and communicated everything they were going to do. Lenny took plenty of time to explain all of the results, the rebate program, , additional options that would save me a little more such as smart thermostats. 25 incandescent lights were replaced with CFLs or LCDs. I got a great low flow shower head, weather stripping on many of my doors and new aerators on my faucets,inspected my furnace and water heater. They cked for and correct leaks in my duct work as well as checking how much air leakage there was in my house. They cleaned up everything when they finished which was fantastic. Dave and his crew Liz & co did a fantastic job sealing up the house, thee was a lot to do and they squeezed it all in on one day. They replaced 25 light bulbs, put in a new low flow shower head, weather stripped all 8 doors, sealed in around windows, as well as the entire attic and basement! They also sealed up any seams in the ducts and around pipes. They worked very neat and walked me through every step of the process. With their diagnostic tests they demonstrated a 26% reduction in exterior air infiltration! I can already feel a difference in the house! We had a home energy evaluation with CMC. This is a really great service. Michael and Tony were professional, knowledgeable, and really helpful. They did a great job changing out our lights to LED's, weatherstripping, and testing our systems. They were here for 10+ hours and worked really hard the whole time. We were extremely impressed with this program and highly recommend it to all. It was well worth the small amount of money that we paid for it. These guys did some work in my apartment complex - Jairo was in charge. They replaced all the bulbs, sealed pipes, checked and caulked the windows etc. all to improve improve utility fitness and ready the apt. for winter. They were kinder than any workmen I have had contact with, didn't slug dirt all over nor mess up my carpet with their shoes and even replaced a non-working fire alarm battery for me.
