We had our ugly fire place resurfaced to a clean white face and electric insert. The insert has multiple colors and you can turn the heat on or off. The quality of work was amazing. The cost of the project was very reasonable. The project manager was easy to work with and did follow up visits or calls. He stayed with the project throughout. What a way for management to respond to a complaint. There was never a point where other services were discussed as an option, as I would have taken that route IF he had taken the time to come out and physically look at the home and what truly needed to be done if that was the case. Your service technician as soon as I explained the problem *this is what the majority of this 15 minute call was about* he went straight to excavating and said any other way would not fix it. Pricing was mentioned right after the problem was discussed. As I mentioned in my original review at no point did i never had an issue with pricing, the service technician REFUSED to come and view my property and the issues prior to giving me any form of quote to make sure what he was suggesting for repair was what was actually needed. THIS is why I rated this company what I did in the original review as well as why we chose to go elsewhere for a price that was higher but at least they came and viewed the damage first before making an assessment. I would also wonder how an assessment of my call was done with your technician when he called me from a cell phone and no one ever stated a call was recorded. read more

Since my review of Creative chimney, I have had multiple discussions with Ed, the owner. While my experience was as described, Ed did try and is trying to make amends. The chimney rebuild was excellent. I had a major leak which suddenly appeared a few weeks ago. I needed the repair immediately and many contractors refused the job due to previous commitments. We had a chimney lead and spoke with Ed, who had a technician(s) come out and fix it. As it's on the roof, I really have no idea what they did because I couldn't see it. I was promised an email receipt and pictures of the repair. I didn't receive them. I called and spoke with the rep at the company several times. Still no response. Spoke with Ed, said he's get it to me that night; he didn't. So I've spent over $900, it seem to have been a good repair but I don't really know (we haven't had the internal cosmetic damage repaired yet, so I wouldn't know if there is new leakage), and I have no evidence of what was done other than a cancelled check. I have two chimneys that needed to be replaced. Ed from Creative Masonry was very thorough in explaining what needed to be done in order to avoid future leaking issues. Everything he told me (we also received a signed contract prior to) he did exactly as was explained. His men worked diligently and they did a fabulous and professional job, as I had expected. Creative Masonry exceeded all of my expectations. They didn't leave a mess on the roof and they cleaned up nicely after they were done. The job took 2 days for 1 oversized chimney and another regular size chimney that they had to knock down and rebuild. Beautiful job on chimneys and I will, without a doubt, use them again for all of my masonry needs. Used these guys for recapping and repointing. They completed their work efficiently and professionally. Just as it should be. Now, fast forward 18-months. I am going to sell my home and some areas of loose brick cement are uncovered in the inspection. While one could argue that that should never have occurred given that I had just had recently had a comprehensive repointing done, what I think is most important is how CMC handled my call to them. I called, raised the issue and I will tell you that they were bend-over-backwards responsive. They had a crew at my house the next day. They fixed the couple of spots that were raised in the inspection, and they charged me nothing. As I've shared in my prior reviews, the best indication of how good a company is is surfaced when there is a problem. It is all about how well they step up and "has the buck stop with them". The absolute worst company! Their idea of taking care of my chimney was to hurl the bricks they were replacing down into the chimney. This was discovered by accident. It created a dangerous problem with high levels of carbon monoxide in my house as a result. Absolutely stay away! read more

I recently bought a house and the pre-close inspector suggested I consult with a chimney expert regarding some items the inspector thought needed work. I called 3 chimney/masonry contractors to get their opinions and estimates. The folks at Creative Masonry seemed to know their stuff the best vs the other guys, so I chose them for the work. I needed a fireplace rebuild on the inside - it was brick that was falling apart. I couldn't believe how awesome the finished product looked. We did a stone facade that transformed the whole room, it is now my favorite room in the house. The inspector didn't catch it, but the folks at Creative found that I was missing an ash grate at the bottom of the fireplace and a door on the bottom of the ash chute in the basement. The house is ~100 years old but they were able to locate the needed parts to remedy this safety concern. In addition to great workmanship, I was pleased with their professionalism and will be calling them back before winter to service and clean the chimney. read more
