I rang a good number of garages, most of which told me a load of rubbish about what was needed to repair mums car, as a mechanic myself i understand exactly how the dsg box works despite not actually repairing them myself. I didnt tell any garage my trade and acted like a general punter to make sure I found a garage that told me the truth about what needed to be done sadly most didnt, being in the trade I know only too well alot of garage's sadly rip people off. I spoke to Jason and he told me what was likely to be the issue and gave me a min and max price estimate, the fault he believed it to be was exactly what I had found extensive research results prior to calling for quotes. The car was dropped off to them Saturday while they were closed and by midday tuesday it was repaired and ready right in the middle of his price estimate. When I picked the car up the workshop was very clean and tidy and well organised, and they had even given mums car a courtesy wash. I have always done everything to the best of my ability and believed in doing things right. I truly believe I've stumbled on a gem of a company with customer service at the core. I'm an honest mechanic leaving a solid review for a company which shares my values, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Stephens engineering and I will definitely only be making 1 phone call for any auto gearbox repairs in the future.

Rear bumper and side door and wing were to be repaired, they kept in contact all way through - fair enough, but when I received my car, it was absolutely filthy inside, looked like my car had been used as a jolly ride to eat in, the POLO sign wasn't even put back on and when I asked the driver why this isn't put on he said ' does it matter', no care in the world, but expected as he's just a driver. Told him take the car back and clean it thoroughly and put the sign back, car came back next day, seemed fine but now another problem, several marks on the driver door panel, looked to be smashed against something, driver again completely useless, so I said give my car back I don't want it wasting mileage and my fuel going all the way to slough and back. don't use this crap garage, absolute shit customer service in terms of giving the customers car back filthy and disgusting and no professionalism and care from staff

So the last thing you need is taking the car for a service and finding half the work quoted not being done or things going wrong after the service . Thus after having this problem with a few garages I decided to try out a service for the first time at the tyre specialists Kwik fit. Normally in the past they didn't do services but in the ever competitive market of car maintainance they have got into the act too. So popped into the Acton branch and pleasantly surprised with the customer service from the helpful staff. No problem in booking when I wanted and the work areas looked spacious and well maintained . They fully explained the costs and mentioned that a full check would be done before the service carried out. This to advise of any immediate action they felt needed to be taken or other things that the driver needed to be aware of. All costs of extra work would be discussed before being carried out Also the customer would be asked what type of part they wanted i.e. cheaper cost one or more expensive premium range. Have had experience before of expensive parts fitted when the more cheaper version would have been just as efficient. So having bought my car duly received call of checks noted. All was explained clear and concisely and costs given. On work completed given a checklist of all things done and engineers report Also had option of looking at old parts replaced. Overall happy with the work done and thought this branch was really good.
