So yea there's a lot of visually arty things going on, but at the same they also do stuff like Media. Definitely worth a look if you want to do something in journalism, etc.

They do evening undergrad and postgrad degrees as well as diplomas. Well-structured lecture halls, so you've plenty of room and the acoustics are good. There's a decent enough canteen, but there's also plenty of food options around the IFSC, including the Point Village market. Getting to and from is pretty easy too. The Red Line of the Luas will bring you right outside the door (make sure you're on a tram heading to the Point though. And if you're feeling energetic, there's a Dublin Bikes platform around the corner too.

I have nothing but praise for the History Department. The town needs the university and the university needs the town. Lunch in Elite Confectionary (bliss) or a quiet pint in The Roost are unmatched, and there is nothing better than a walk around the south campus if you've time to kill. The university is expanding rapidly, and you'd worry about it retaining its sense of community. Maynooth has a lot to offer.

I also started to spend an unhealthy amount of time in the student bar. It's a small college so the excellent thing is you really get to know people easily. The teachers that I had there were great and very approachable. The Old Campus crowds are spectacular and well worth the visit to walk around. History just oozes from the place. The college chapel there will stunned you to silence. Dublin buses and trains run there frequently, the train goes from Connolly.

It has a sense of community and generally everybody gets to know eachother eventually. During my 4yrs in the college, I enjoyed every day of it. St. Mac Daras is the type of school that you would naturally want/like to get up and go to every day. The kindness and respect that students and teachers have for eachother adds to the inviting atmosphere of the school. Teachers are extremly dedicated to helping students and are willing to give up their own free time in order to allow students to grasp difficult material or tackle any problems/issues that students may have with certain topics . The school is very strict on bullying and can be seen through the attitude that students of the college have towards it. Students have 0% tollerance for bullying so much so that if bullying were to occur in the corridors or at lunch (which is extremly rare) students of all years stand up and defend the student/s who is being bullied. This is a unique bond that students of the college develope with eachother in 1st Year. As a conclusion I would like to strongly recommend St. Mac Daras to all those who are considering a secondary school to select for their son/daughter. I would like to take this oppertunity to thank St. Mac Daras for all its help through my Junior Cert and in advance for my Leaving Cert. Kind of like UCD actually (acronyms apparently have more than letters in common!). It has a reputation for being slightly more vocational than either Trinity or UCD, and focuses far more on the science end of things, rather than the more traditional arts and humanities (which it still has, I hasten to add). The campus is very modern, belying its more recent development in comparision to Trinity and even UCD. However, it's lovely in its modernity and it's got some top facitilies too.

We were housed at Maynooth University while visiting Dublin for two days. We stayed in dorm rooms…read morewhich weren't super bad only because they were dorm rooms (so I didn't have high expectations going in). However, the stay was pleasant. The accommodations were mediocre, they made sure we had towels (a large dryoff towel and a feet mat towel), mini shampoo, bar of soap and body wash available. I was surprise to find out they even came in to change your bedding, fix your bed, empty your trash and replace your used bath towels. The downside was the bathroom and the continental breakfast. The bathroom was super small with a sink, toilet and shower head all in one. There was a shower curtain that separated the shower from the toilet but if you're not a size 0 than you might as well take a shower with the curtain open rather than closed. I founf this to be gross since water would spread all over the bathroom floor, leaving the floor wet. Also, I would recommend anyone who isn't comfortable taking a shower without a washcloth to bring a sponge or their own washcloth because one isn't provided. Lastly, the food was meh, nothing really to rave about. The trays looked dirty and the starchy food was overwhelming. The upside is the campus is walking distance from the cute little town center where there are numerous places to eat and drink.

She took the time to explain each area with care and details. It was so informative! The grounds are impressive! There are several places to sit and relax if you are not on the tour (or afterwards). Some of the old trees are massive. There are a ton of photo opportunities. The architecture, the long hall and the Book of Kells are all fascinating! We spent a couple of hours there all said and done. For me, this is place I would not likely come back to but should definitely be visited because of all the history. Highly recommended!

Trinity College is a beautiful and spacious campus (50 acres) founded in 1592…read more It's considered to be the Harvard of Ireland. My beloved Oscar Wilde is an alumni. The 18th century architecture is a mashup of Victorian Gothic, Neoclasical, Georgian, etc. It's wonderful campus for strolling to take in the architecture, green spaces, and people. The Trinity Trails walking tour is student-led and about an hour long. It's a great way to take in all of the campus.
