I was left with numerous errors. Less cabinets than what I had. A truly non-functional kitchen. From lighting to flooring and everything else in between. Complete disaster. They made mistakes and tried to blame my husband and charge us for the corrections. Tried to install a shelving system in one cabinet which didn't fit so they cut a brand new cabinet to force it to fit. The shelving system (which they get a commission on for selling it) still couldn't be used to the full extent. Had them remove the system and they pieced together the cabinet they cut to make it fit. One month later my lighting works intermittently, some plugs don't work at all. Told someone will come out to check it out. Of course after 3 cancellations, when the electrician finally came the lights were working. Hasn't returned to fix them. I could go on and on but what is the point. I would NEVER recommend this company and advise all to stay away.

The patio and retaining wall look great. The project took longer than expected, but those delays were all on our side. We took longer than we should have to make various decisions about light fixtures, etc. We also changed the scope of the project a few times, adding more areas of walkways that we decided needed to be refinished with the stamped concrete. We would recommend KBR for any project that you might have. Karen was great to work with and even when we were not following through with things on our end, she never lost her cool with us and was very patient waiting for us to come to decisions on things. We had about 4 feet of countertop, this massive empty space in the middle of the room, plaster and lathe walls, and a ceiling fan in the middle of the kitchen. Hence, the need for a serious makeover. To save costs, we agreed to do the work ourselves. Mike and his partner Dean were great. We met with Mike multiple times to think about different ways to rearrange the kitchen. We love the final layout. The cabinets arrived as promised. When the materials arrived, Dean met the truck and checked to make sure everything we needed was delivered as ordered. As we were installing cabinets ourselves, we were able to call Mike and Dean and get quick answer to our questions. Mike was also very accessible via e-mail. Prices were also very reasonable, so that is a plus. :-)

This company installed granite countertops in my newly remodeled kitchen seven years ago. Unfortunately, I didn't realize this at the time and ended up spending thousands of dollars repainting my cabinets, only to recently learn from another contractor that water had been seeping through the faulty seam all along, causing additional damage. When I contacted the company, they asked for $300 to reseal it, which feels unreasonable given that this appears to be an installation issue. I even offered to wait until they were working in the area, since it's a quick fix, but they were not willing to accommodate. I would recommend looking for a company that stands behind its work and provides better long-term support. Also, if possible, avoid placing seams near the sink--what seems like a minor detail can lead to significant damage over time.

They painted over our brand new appliances, and had very limited respect for our home. They made very inappropriate jokes and conversations while I was working from home in the adjacent room, making me very uncomfortable in my own home. I would not recommend Modern Concepts, because Mike does not deliver what he promised in the finished product. His cost is much too high for what they can deliver upon.

Bottom line we had to pay Mike at Modern concepts about $4,000 more than he quoted and he took twice as long and delivered a product that was not satisfactory. Plus during the whole process he was very unclear about payments and anything money related which makes him come across as untrustworthy. Save yourself time and money and do not go with modern concepts.
