There's no premium or laser projection here. No reclining seats, either. So unless you enjoy spending your money on a movie that would look better on your own TV, you'll have to go to either Lakeland or east to the next county to see a properly shown film.

Yes, you might get misted a bit or some bubbles in your hair. Make sure to check the schedule to plan your day as each one only gets shown twice per day.

If you're looking for something a little stronger, they have a MacGuffins bar serving beer, wine, and other adult beverages. The theaters themselves are nicely set up with reserved seating and heated reclining seats that make a huge difference, especially for a longer movie. The screens are nice and large, and they now offer Laser at AMC projection, which gives the picture excellent brightness, color, and clarity. You can even order food and drinks ahead through mobile ordering and have everything ready when you arrive. My only disappointment really has nothing to do with AMC itself--it's the mall surrounding it. Lakeshore Mall has unfortunately been declining for years, and it seems like every time we visit there are fewer stores open. It's sad to see because I remember when malls like this were packed and were destinations themselves. Thankfully, AMC continues to give people a reason to come here. Kind words and professionalism. The only concern was something we believe is well, not profession or sanitary. We don't believe you should use your hands to open up the popcorn bag! We believe well- that's nasty. You can pop the bag to open the bag, or use the scoop to open but not your hands! Would you do this when you serve a soda- stick your finger or hand inside a cup to dry or clear debris? Look, we asked our cashier not to put their hand inside the popcorn bag and pop it like one of his employees did and we got a weird look- we asked in the most kind, super Disney kind voice- PLEASE DONT STICK YOUR HAND IN THE BAG. PLEASE POP IT OPEN JUST NOT USING YOUR HAND (that's caps here- not yelling). When the employee went to get the popcorn it looked- we believe- he told the manager this (we could be wrong) but even if he didn't , the manager looked to brush off what the employee said and OPENED UP USING HER HANDS THE INSIDE of the POPCORN BAG (yes here I'm escalating emotion). The theater itself was nice, with wide aisles and comfortable reclining seats. We were able to purchase a couple of alcoholic beverages which was a nice addition to our movie time, as well as some popcorn. The drinks were nice and cold and the popcorn delicious. If you really like popcorn purchase the 'extra large' and you get an additional refill. The concession staff were friendly. The young guys manning and scanning tickets to get to your designated theater were okay as well. But Sun-Ray moving in definitely pushed it in the right direction. While one of those big chain theaters is charging you $3 for a sampler size of popcorn seasoning you can get at Walmart, Sun-Ray has an entire bar of seasonings, add ons, butters, oils... You can also load your popcorn in yourself so you can even layer the flavorings. It's ALSO super reasonably priced with one free refill included! They do also have cocktails and mocktails to enjoy your movie with a bit of fun, and they do specials to add to the bigger movies. As for inside the theater, I read a few people complain that the seats don't recline. I'm honestly okay with that because, you know...eating. And the chairs are super plush, the kind you just sink in and nestle into. I love that a lot. The spacing was pretty comfortable, lots of room for guests and servers to walk in front of you. I also really liked that instead of Big Corporation Showings before the trailers start, they were showing fun videos and local ads. Will Oldham has one coming up in September before his performance on the other side of the bay) They show the blockbusters you can see everywhere, but they mix it in with indie films and documentaries that you would have to be in NYC or LA to see otherwise. They also specialize on showing movies on FILM. If you love watching actual film, this is the place that is showing the love! The ticket prices are cheap. The seats are comfortable. The staff is absolutely amazing. The food is far better (and affordable!) than it has any right to be at a movie theater, and they bring it to your seat. There are a TON of vegan options! Which is pretty rare when it comes to going to the movies. It's not just my favorite local movie theater; it's become one of my favorite places in the Tampa Bay region.

My only complaint was it took forever as the ticket kiosk didn't update seating correctly so I had to change my tickets for the next movie to have side by side seating. I am not a huge Spider-Man fan but the movie was good.
