Avoid at all cost dr dirtkoff is impatient when asking questions yelled at my wife when asking for clarification on procedures. Sad part is he was the replacement for the first rude dr. You can't call anyone ever just endless hold messages then when you eventually have to leave a voicemail. Which I did leave a voicemail looking for verification of service and pricing for a surgery (never received) I left this message in the middle of march and am still yet to get a call back on it. I went there before Covid and I'll never recommend them to anyone. The nurses never know who they are talking to and I felt like I had to repeatedly tell them things about my medical history they should have already known or maybe just saw in my record. I once had a failed cycle and was told I had to wait 3 months to get a call from my doctor to discuss what might have happened. Then also told me I didn't need a medication, I emailed them multiple times confirming this. The day before we drove 6 hours to their clinic they told me I needed that medicine and had to take it by a certain time! I had to find it at a nearby hospital and spent a stupid amount of money that I shouldn't have had to spend in the first place to get it. After getting sick of the terrible service I called Dr. Kiltz and told him what was going on and he refunded us for their mistake. We never got pregnant, never got answers or possible new strategies because they are just a factory. It's basically a spa with medical services provided. I even had one of their social media people give me a massive attitude because I suggested they give a grant to a couple who had a failed full round through them. Apparently he didn't like my suggestion and replied with the most rude comment ever. Honestly I wouldn't ever go back even if I won a grant. Really disappointed with them oh and when I asked them to send my paperwork to my new clinic they said they did TWICE and never sent it even though I filled out a consent form. They just are the worst I suggest shopping around don't let the hype they falsely create lure you in! read more

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. I figured out how they are able to offer discount services. By ripping people off through their terrible scheduling policies! They are booked out for many months for appointments even for phone consultations. I tried to explain to the woman on the phone that I am 43 years old and every month and cycle counts. Waiting 3 months was really unacceptable. She was unhelpful, so I just booked to appointment in case knowing that I would probably end up canceling. They forced me to pay up front for the consultation 3 months in advance. Then beginning about 10 days prior to my appointment they sent a text asking me to confirm my appointment, but there was no way to do so via text. WEIRD. Usually all of my doctors send a text message that allows you to input Y or N to confirm or cancel or something similar. This message said to "go to my portal." I wasn't sure what that was. Apparently it was in a welcome email I had received 3 months prior. Hard to remember when it was 3 MONTHS AGO. Then everyday they proceeded to bombard me we texts early in the morning. They woke me up a couple of times, and then I just started ignoring the texts bc there were so many, and this appointment still wasn't really on my priority list yet since it was a week out. Fast forward to about 5 days before my appointment, and I finally received a phone call early in the morning on a Saturday. We were out of town, and of course I was asleep since it was Saturday. But I finally read that they were asking for my medical records 2 days prior to my appointment. OK. So I thought that meant Monday. I started filling them out on Sunday thinking I'd finish Monday, and that would be on time. NOPE. They canceled my appointment for not completing my medical records 2 days ahead, even though it wasn't clear if that meant 48 hours?? Or before the close of business?? So confusing. When I called they said I would have had to give SEVEN DAYS notice to cancel the appointment and receive a refund. WHAT KIND OF POLICY IS THIS??? And why didn't the original text message just state simply- confirm or cancel NOW, or we cancel your appointment, and you won't be refunded. Easy. Literally almost every doctor on earth has a 24 hour cancellation policy also. If your policy is this unusual, you should probably be more clear about it! Also, WHY did they never send me an email about any of this? Obviously if I'm on my phone I'm not necessarily at my computer so can't log into whatever portal they are talking about, which I had to go back and figure out. And seriously WHO cancels an appointment for an F*ing PHONE CONSULTATION bc your medical records aren't in 48 hours in advance?? To be honest I was planning to cancel this appointment anyway due to the fact that I had found out from a friend who tried them before that literally every appointment is this difficult to schedule. So there again NOT conducive to being helpful for someone who is literally running out of time for their fertility, which is most women who need a consult lol. Also, there protocol sounds like bullshit, and they are trying to push their own supplements. Basically they tell you to eat bacon and butter and take steroids?? Then they do recommend the typical vitamins that most practitioners do, but they sell their own formulas of them. It's just a marketing scheme. But seriously, keto is the MOST unhealthy diet, and I was already super skeptical of them, because I just can't believe that actual doctors would recommend a completely unhealthy FAD diet instead of like eating fruits and vegetables and unprocessed foods. Anyway, overall I'd say AVOID AT ALL COSTS. And now I know how they make their money- by keeping the consultation fee they make you pay up front and are likely to lose due to their extremely prohibitive and punitive scheduling practices. On another note, I ended up booking with another fertility clinic (Kind Body) who took my insurance, were completely positive and supportive ,and actually got me in for my consultation and full bloodwork and even my saline bubble test and HSG in under a week. I want to repeat. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. Time is precious to older hopeful mamas. I am bummed that I lost so much time waiting for this awful place to fit me in. read more

Had a first consultation with a physician, he laughed through the whole thing, didn't ask me one question basically read me their website and kept referring to my partner who is male as my husband which he is not, as if he's required to be my husband. We traveled 5+ hours to CNY Albany for treatment, and we are so glad we did! A word to those who are also traveling- communication can be strained. They definitely are spread thin there. They are able to charge what they charge because they are high volume. At the same time, at my old RE here in DC, we had similar communication issues, so there's that. I think the (very few) bad reviews you'll see here on Yelp are from "newbies" to infertility- perhaps new to this awkward, hard space, who haven't been seen at other practices and don't know how everything works... yet. I'm here to tell you, after nine years in this horrible infertility space, that CNY is top notch. Go somewhere else and you'll see. If there's anything I can tell you about IVF/infertility, it's that there's no one who is going to hold your hand and guide you through this perfectly- you need to join groups (many great ones on Facebook, etc.) and educate yourself. The nurses are incredible and they will be who you work with most of the time. Lean on them. Ask them every question under the sun. Use your online portal. There is no doubt that you have to be your own advocate at CNY. You cannot sit back and coast. You need to be organized and diligent- but for me, that was a small price to pay for being able to do the immune protocol (my old RE doesn't offer it) and to do IVF at a cost that was affordable. (even with travel, outside monitoring, etc. it was 12k vs. the 40k it would have been here in DC!) The clinic itself (I was in Albany) is beautiful and so comfortable. You don't feel like you're in a doctor's office which is such a nice thing. It might seem small, but when you're going through infertility treatments, any small comfort is deeply appreciated. They also offer massage, acupuncture, etc. at a very (very!) good rate, and I highly recommend that patients take advantage of it. I'll never regret going to CNY. After 9 years of ttc, they (Dr. Ditkoff, specifically) got me pregnant and I'll meet my miracle boy in six short weeks. read more

I was a patient here as a gestational surrogate, so I did not go through an egg retrieval, only embryo transfer. No major complaints. Sometimes they're running behind, and your appointment can be an hour late, which of course is annoying. All the nurses were very nice to me. The two doctors who did the transfer were also very nice. Our first transfer failed and the second one was successful (I delivered in March, 2019). From having been through the med protocol from the first transfer, I was able to recognize a mistake in the med protocol for the second transfer (they introduced an antibiotic too soon). Also their instructions aren't tailored for surrogates (for instance, they said I could have intercourse immediately after transfer, but surrogates should NOT until after heartbeat confirmation). read more

Went for an HSG test and they were not very nice. I said it hurt and they pushed harder on the catheter. It didn't stay in on the first try so they inserted a second one and pushed even harder then the first time. When it was over told me I would have spotting for the rest of the day. Found a puddle of blood under me when I got up from the test. Bled the rest of the day like I was on a period. Cramps were so bad after that I was nauseated and in extremely bad pain. Would not recommend this fertility place for anyone. read more

We just completed a retrieval and transfer here at CNY in Albany. I'm on day 4 of having my embryo back on my womb so I don't know if it worked yet. The pro's about CNY: They're willing to work with just about anyone. We have a history of very delicate eggs once they're outside of my body. What has worked for us in the past is fresh transfers as soon as possible. We have a son from a day 3 fresh transfer and another son from a day 2 fresh transfer. It's hard to find clinics that are willing to work with fresh transfers, let alone a day 2 transfer, but they didn't even bat an eye lash at the idea! The price, oh my goodness, the price!!!! No one does fresh, day 2 transfers for this price!!! And they used a minimal drug protocol so that saved me money as well. I'm super impressed. We traveled from Colorado for this cycle and I have zero regrets. Oh, and another thing, it is mind boggling to me why 99% of clinics SUPPRESS your ovaries before a cycle so they can batch all the women at once. It's like an oxymoron that you suppress the organ one month and then expect it to be firing at all cylinders the very next month!! CNY doesn't do that!!! Everything was based on my natural cycle!!! Also, I paid for acupuncture before and after my retrieval. It was so inexpensive! I paid $70 total for acupuncture! At my last clinic (CCRM Colorado) I paid almost $300, which is outrageous. The cons: I didn't find out until a few days before my retrieval that they're not open on sundays. This was concerning bc it seemed like that might be the natural day of retrieval for me, but they assured me that it would be better to retrieve on Saturday. Still, it would have been good for this to be more clear and I'm wondering how they're able to do natural cycles if they're not open on Sunday's, but I guess they make it work somehow. Also, I get that the cost is super low and therefore they don't have an endless supply of money, but it does seem like the building could be updated. All in all, we're obviously praying that this cycle worked, but even if it doesn't, I have no regrets about coming to CNY and I don't feel like anything could have been done differently in order to achieve a different outcome. I'll start testing at home on Sunday and praying for those double pinks! I'm turning 40 this year so my chances of success are rapidly dwindling. Love the staff and facility. This was our 2nd round with IVF and this was hands down a better option than the first place we went to - RMA. I'll write another review for them later. All the reasons you should go to CNY? 1. Staff smiles and makes you confortable. Pleasant. Accomdating 2. Calls returned right away or usually under an hour. 3. Cost is fair!!!! 4. You join the online board and they offer contests such as winning a free cycle. 5. I can't say enough about the facility. Not clinical AT ALL. The waiting room is like a living room. They offer the partners massages 6. The room I had my retrieval done was so relaxing. I kept asking, "when am i going to the next room?" They laughed. This is it!! 7. CNY Fertility Center is my third fertility clinic in my endeavor to have a baby. 1. I initially started at Columbia Fertility in Fairfax, VA-- the staff was cold, unresponsive to telephone and email, and very unprofessional, and super clinical. They rushed through procedures w/o explanation, then talked financial costs afterwards. 2. Switched over to Shady Grove Fertility Anandale, VA-- great corporate culture (educational tools, etc.). I had Dr. Levin based on my OB/Gyn's recommendation, loved him, but did not care for my nurse who was cold and clinical. Only provided answers when prompted. Didn't bat an eye when I told her I was switching to another clinic. Was sad about leaving SGF, but they were too expensive. 3. CNY Fertility-- I found this place by accident while perusing IVF Facebook pages. Read that it was super cost effective and high success rate with great doctors. a. Initial Consult: because they are so great, their initial consult takes a while. There's a very long waitlist. I called in May and for an over-the-phone consultation I got a September 14 appointment with Dr. K at Syracuse. I decided to fly in for my appointment instead and got a July 25 appointment in Albany with Dr. Ditkoff. b. Out-of-Town Patients: CNY has quite a few of out of towners (like I was), and even international patients. Explains the long wait list. c. Cost: SGF was asking approx. $28K for three rounds of IVF and not including meds which one can add anywhere between $2.5K-$5K; CF was asking for around the same amount; CNY on the other hand asked for $3,900/cycle (not incl. meds), and also offers veteran/military discount. d. Ambiance: CNY does not look clinical AT ALL. Not from the outside, and definitely not from the inside. I walked into a spa-looking and spelling building with soft music playing from invisible speakers. There was a board on my left that listed all the classes and services available at CNY (massage, yoga, acupuncture, dietary counseling, support circles and more...!), and the door leading to the reception was akin to a door into a spa more than a clinic. When I entered the reception I was taken aback by the comfy sofas, scattered pillows, low lighting, fireplace, reading books, music in the background, and the happy banter amongst the staff! It was delicious. My check-in was very smooth and quick and I thought I'd be able to avail of the soft comfy sofas since I had just flown into Albany and would have loved a coffee from their coffee machine-- but I was led to Dr. Ditkoff's office almost immediately. e. Dr. Ditkoff: what a sweet, happy, caring, sensitive, thorough doctor! I was nervous that we might not sync, I had prepared by reading his bio on the CNY website, but I was nervous about having him as my doctor over Dr. Kiltz (who is the founder and main honcho). But I'm glad I stayed with Dr. D. He explained the next steps very concisely, wrote out my plan to step 3, and I felt like I had got my money's worth for flying out there. I wasn't rushed, nor did I feel I was leaving with more questions. Best of all, he listened to me rather then telling me. I was sent down to proceed with blood work and an u/s. f. Staff: super friendly, very efficient, and every time I have called their hotline-- they have answered right away. Since my appointment I have had to call them at least twice daily (excluding the weekend). In fact, the staff called with my blood results the day after my appointment and followed up with me the following week. Today is Wednesday, Aug 01 and I have been able to reach both the nurses and the travel team right away (after navigating the VM system). I would absolutely recommend CNY Fertility to anyone who is trying to become pregnant. This place caters to EVERYONE and does not exclude based on sexual orientation (another reason I was happy with this place), age (i'm an "older" patient), or medical conditions (some patients have talked about having endometriosis, etc. and CNY has been patient with them and walked them through alternate medical procedures to help them have healthy pregnancies. I was initially drawn to CNY for their pricing, but I'm so happy I switched over. I wish I'd known about this place in 2016 when I started my IVF journey with other fertility clinics in my DMV area. If one can afford the flights, not need too much babysitting, is proactive with doing their own research in order to ask the proper questions, has the money, doesn't mind being an out-of-town patient (which comes with its own headaches), and really wants a baby but doesn't want to have to remortgage their home-- go to CNY! read more

This has been a very frustrating experience, leaving me and my husband feeling overwhelmed and frustrated. We were thrown head-first into the process, and I felt like the doctor and nurses didn't want to take the time to get to know us or listen to us, let alone help us through this hard process. The staff is cold and not willing to answer questions and go into detail about what's happening. When I call, the girls in the office always sound annoyed, like I've greatly interrupted them. When I use the online messaging system, no one ever fully answers my questions, so I have to call anyway. Also, I have been prescribed multiple medications with no explanation whatsoever, and all of my questions are met with annoyance. The next time we want to get pregnant, we will absolutely go elsewhere. read more

worst place i have EVER been to! Yes, it's very beautiful, but they did NOTHING FOR ME! They treated me like i was in a factory. Did not do any previous tests, just an ultrasound. The tech and dr said i only have a fibroid, but we should be ok. I had 2 fresh cycles.... Well, after getting pregnant on the last try, at 7 weeks, the heart stopped beating. When i asked the nurse, where do we go from here, what do i do? She said I DON'T know ask the nurse, that was monitoring you in Buffalo. Like REALLY????? I paid CNY 10,000$ and you can't tell me anything now???? anyway, after some time I had to have a surgery bec. of that "fibroid" bec. it was getting bigger! (forgot to mention when i had the loss, they said the "fibroid" grew to a 4 month pregnancy.)....i was going to have it done robotically, which that's how they started the surgery, then ended up cutting me across (C-Section style) bec. my fibroid wasn't a fibroid! it was a non-cancerous tumor and i was diagnosed with "severe adenomyosis". I was very anemic and had to have 2 blood transfusions and spent 3 days in the hospital. IF THE DR., DID ALL THE TESTS HE NEEDED TO, MAYBE "LAPOROSCOPY" OR SOMETHING, HE WOULD KNOW AND THINGS COULD'VE BEEN DIFFERENT. not to mention that after my DNC, i ended up in the hospital with a huge infection! it was an IVF from hell!!!!! NEVER AGAIN! i guess, they take pride in cases that don't really have big issues. But if you're suffering from something, make sure (if you go to them) you get tested from Head-to-toe! Otherwise, you will be out of $10,000 and like me, with health complications afterwards! Also, when i wrote them a letter, no one even called me, nor did i get any apologies. i guess, once they use up your money and IVF cycles are over, YOU'RE done and so is their "sympathy and compassion" . read more

While CNY nursing staff is very kind and helpful, the follow-up in other areas is particularly inadequate. I called their finance staff SEVERAL times last year, to no response. Since they leave early on Thursday, I tried other days, too - no response. When we first tried to seek grant information; there was no response after several calls and voicemails. When we applied for the monthly grant and tried to obtain more information - no callbacks. Then, they were to send me an annual bill just after the beginning of the year (Jan 10), instead, they sent it three months ahead of time, then sent a "final notice" in January, as if we hadn't paid the bill for months. Then, once paid, they rebilled for it! Noting the lack of kind, professional BASIC Responsiveness from the finance team was enough to make me just skip the monthly mode of payments for the balance outstanding and pay in full instead, JUST to be rid of the need to contact finance team. Guess what? Once I paid in full, they just kept billing the monthly amount. So, instead of trying to call the finance team for the 8th time, I wrote a letter with the details Kindly asking them to call me, explaining in detail that I can NEVER reach someone who takes the call (without mysteriously disconnecting) or calls back. They NEVER called; my situation remains unresolved. It feels as though no one cares about me as a patient, so long as they get my money. There's such a disconnect, though, because that's completely NOT how the nurse team treats me when I'm there. It's time for CNY to do better in that regard. This process is stressful enough, and I'm Shocked by the lack of Empathy. I'd like to believe that this arm of CNY is better than it has shown itself to be, but I'm really, really unhappy about the way I've been treated. read more

Well hopefully this post dont get taken down like the review I made on there actually Albany site! I would have given them a 0 stars if allowed. I have been going threw this for 2 years and after 6 rounds of ivf my husband and myself said enough was enough! I had two miscarriages and no successful pregnancy! Let me start by saying there clinical staff has no idea! Evertime I call I have to explain my medical prognosis! You also never talk to the same nurse and when you do finally get a hold of a nurse they respond with a snarky response as if you are bothering them, or you should already no the answer to the question...not to mention their working from home and their kids are screaming in the background!You wait for hours on the phone lines and when u finally get threw to someone you get transfered and wait on hold for hours! They never change your protocol it stays the same everytime! Not to mention the founder belive more in pushing his keto then actually diagnosing issues! After 2 years I have decided to get a second opionion and found out my care was not up to standard. Also when asked for my medical records to be faxed to my new clinic cny stated they did it.The crazy thing about this is I had to reach out 5 diffrent times to cny when they stated it was faxed but never got there. Mysterious when I said I would personally go down to albany to retrieve them they got faxed...shocker! Makes you wounder if they are trying to hide something? Several things missed, you are just a number at CNY. Watch out for the double billing from financial,and when u try and straighten it out u are on hold. One thing also about CNY it is so impersonal they reccomend that you contact the nurses threw the patient portal.Lets just say that lacks as well after having a miscarriage and contacting them threw the portal I didnt get a response till 3 days later! PROS: Some nice staff; nice ambiance. Much less expensive than other clinics. CONS: Procedures and who is going to be involved (and why) were no longer explained. Non-medical personnel are involved in medical procedures. Communication can be difficult. "Policies" are not privacy-friendly. I had a few good experiences there, but my last experience was not something I care to repeat. First, the policy changed such that partners were no longer allowed into the egg retrieval. During prior visits, my husband was allowed to come in with me, which was very stress relieving. Then they said that due to wanting to maintain a "sterile" environment the husbands (who sat at the head of the patient) were no longer welcome, but no one told me that a lab tech (embryologist) was going to be there and he hung out at the site of the procedure. (Not sure how is a someone at the head of the patient more "sterile" than someone unnecessarily hanging out at the site of the procedure.) I should note that I only found out that it was now routine for this tech to be there after a friend of mine woke up to find him unexpectedly there, so it was not just me that they failed to explain things and get consent from. I found out that he was more involved than taking care of the embryos after he walked in during the transfer. Again, this was not done before and I was not informed that he would be there. (I would have kicked him out but he was carrying my embryos and was so shocked to see him come in, I thought for sure he was going to just hand over the vial to the nurse, but no he actually performed part of the procedure!) When I asked about his credentials, I got the run around. When I told them that I should have been told and that I would have refused since having him there was wholly unnecessary, the nurse told me that all the nurses were also confused as to why a lab tech was now so involved in GYN procedures but that it was now "policy". The billing office kept giving conflicting information, and I got billed for a procedure that the RE was unable to perform (seemingly due to problems with the equipment). When I asked about getting a prior authorization done for the medications (my insurance rep said that they would cover these with a PA), I was repeatedly told that it had been done only to keep being told by my insurance company that they never received it. Finally, I was told that CNY staff never bothered to put it through because "we know your insurance isn't going to cover it." I have been to other clinics where I felt my privacy was better respected and communication was easier. But for many couples, infertility is not covered by insurance, and the best part of this clinic is that they make having a baby more affordable. If you go to this clinic, be prepared to advocate for yourself! read more

This is actually two businesses - a fertility center on the first floor and a healing arts center (yoga, massage, acupuncture, facials, etc.) on the upper floor. The staff and practitioners on both floors are generally very friendly and helpful. Fertility service prices are very affordable (compared to other clinics in the area), while the healing arts services are priced comparably with other area spas and yoga studios. The atmosphere in both areas of the business is unbelievably soothing, which is saying something given the amount of stress experienced by those going through infertility services (and I speak from experience). I also like the way the business appreciates bosh aspects of healthcare in this area - the Western medical approach and the Eastern holistic approach. read more

After a shocking initial visit (I was not prepared to hear that I was not capable of getting pregnant) the process was excellent. The staff was always kind and helpful. My process of being the recipient of embryos from egg donation and insemination was facilitated by a nurse who followed me through the whole process. The staff was always upbeat and easy to work with. I chose CNY because they incorporate holistic therapies like acupuncture, stress reduction, yoga and they use bio identical hormones. I was successful and have a beautiful son from my work with CNY. I would rate them high even if I had not been successful. How many women can say they were joking with their doctor on the day of their IVF just before the procedure? Can't say enough good about them. read more
