Benchmark for what a man's barber shop should be. I've had three different barbers and all of them had me looking my best. The simple service they offer is all that you need: a great cut and straight razor shave, with a chat about Michigan football or hockey if you're in the mood. The ambiance is spot on: walls covered in memorabilia, a flat screen TV on ESPN, and Playboys on the table. So far, the hardest part about graduating and moving to Tucson has been finding a new barbershop on par with Coach & Four.

Probably one of the worst haircuts I've ever received. Yeah the place was cool but the cut was uneven and not executed well.

Best barbershop in town. Jordan does a quick and mean haircut. BooZe and a haircut with the gentleman magazines is a win win place.

Really friendly staff, nice haircut. The staff bleeds blue, and if you are a Michigan sports fan, you will have a lot to talk about.

Ask the Community - Coach & Four Barber Shop

How is this place for beard trims, been growing mine out and looking to get it tidied up a bit and don't want it butchered?

Schedule with James, he'll take good care if you. Great with a straight razor.

Every visit reminds me of those times. Dad and gramps would've liked it here. You need to call ahead or go online and get in the queue. Walk-ins are welcome, of course; you will be waiting. For a reasonable $30 I had the sides tapered and trimmed the top. I have a half dozen cow licks to contend with, two extremely large ones. That doesn't phase these boys. The cuts always come out looking great and the banter in the shop is typically funny and careless. The best place to try out a new joke. I've seen Kyle and now Brian. Both were very professional and both excellent stylists. My next trip to this area will be right around trim time. Good for me. 03/25

Jazzy music in the background playing. The barber closest to the window was open for a cut. He has long hair, back in a low messy bumtail. Clean cut beard. Seems cool. He let us know that a cut is $30 cash, so there's no confusion later. My husband asked for a shorter cut is all and the Barber got right to it. The Barber is very thorough and wants to make sure to give a great cut. The barber favors using the switch blade razor for trimming, it has an attachment for texturingthat's talent.

Since this is…read moreone of those "they employer the barbers" places rather than "the barbers own the place" situations, barbers have changed over time. So has the quality and excellence of service. My first appt, two years ago, was gifted by my spouse for my birthday. It was the $60 deluxe. I'd guess it was an hour of haircut, pampering, facial treatment, straight razor trim, etc. Really really wonderful. That barber was also the barber I had the next time, and that was great. Then she left. In the two years that have ensued, the quality of care and the degree of effort feel like they've steadily decreased. My first two visits were Special. Now it feels like going to a Supercuts. Well, two years later, I just came back from my latest T&C appointment, still getting the $60 "Haircut, beard trim with straight razor line up." These days I'm no longer bearded but this morning decided to not get a shave so I could get the full experience. If there's one thing you should pretty much be able to count on, it's that a package description that refers to a straight razor will include the use of a straight razor. The whole thing was about 20-25 minutes. In that whole time, a straight razor didn't get within a foot of my head. He did 'shave' me ... using a standard electric foil shaver. For what I got, I could -- should -- have spent a lot less than $60. I think it's time to move on and find another, more traditional, barber -- or go to the other end of the spectrum and actually go to a Nice[tm] haircutting place. This is sort of the worst of all worlds.

I was waiting to grow mine out and felt it was finally time to chop it. I showed June a picture and she cut it exactly as I wanted and even better! It's very affordable here at $28 for my medium length to almost shoulder length hair cut. My husband pays $23 (not including tip). Definitely recommend this place! I chose not to get it washed to save money and I can do that at home anyways. I just need the cut and it was performed exactly as I imagined!

The bad: I suspect anything that is *not* a $15 haircut that takes 10 minutes is gambling with your hair at New Age Salon. My wife specifically chose New Age for a perm, assuming they would have experience with Asian hair. She showed the stylist a photo of exactly what she wanted. I attached it here. The stylist set the perm and put my wife in a chair for slightly more than four hours. (We are not complaining about the time involved, by the way. This is normal for a perm.) After unwrapping my wife's hair, the stylist insisted on not drying it and told her to let her hair air dry. (Point is she left with wet hair, unable to see the finished perm.) Bill for this perm: $220. We went out to eat afterwards and I took a photo of the completed work. That's the second photo I attached. As you can see, what she asked for / paid for and what she received are two very different things. I suggest coming here for a quick $15 haircut. Not a perm.
