I didn't want to give her commission - soon as she smelled my resistance to purchase with her, she literally wouldn't show me the size on the trench coat and at some point turned the jacket and held it to her chest.. Don't need to be treated like that and don't need the trench coat because nothing comes at the price of my dignity. Done with Burberry and their hostile approach.

I was really excited about the opening of a Burberry store in Toronto, since the selection at Holt Renfrew tends to be limited. The men's section occupies the first floor and the store does get most of the collection offered on-line or in their US stores. In my opinion, Burberry is the perfect place to build your wardrobe with classic pieces. Staff are friendly and attentive without any of the attitude one might expect from a high end retail store. I love that staffs would introduce themselves, allow me to browse the store peacefully and available when I need some assistance. Several times they went out of their way to search the stock room for a particular size or item in stock but not currently displayed in the showroom.

The staff is friendly and will most likely compliment you on the purse that you come in with. I find that the quality of their bags isn't that great though, with bubbles in the leather and colour that rubs off easily. If I really wanted a fashion, one-season handbag, I suppose this is an option to window shop in.

At the beginning, we were treated very nicely from the staff and Paul accommodated us and our requests. Instead of going with a custom fur coat, it was recommended that we went with an in-store coat and order the next size up. He put down an approx. $5000 deposit. Paul said the coat would arrive in 10 days, which it did, only to discover that the coat was too small. He recommended that they alter the original coat. The alterations were then delayed by a few days. Paul called me to let me the know that the coat was in, and thinking we'd receive the perfect coat, I acknowledged our gratitude to Paul and his team and kind service. When my boss stepped foot into Barrington's to pick up the coat, him and his friend were given the cold shoulder, which was rather odd considering how nice we have been to him. Paul was rude and downright disrespectful and made them feel that he didn't want them in his store for some reason. Then they come to find that the finished coat was completely messed up. He mislead us during the final process and was incredibly rude. He refused to sell the next size and refused to proceed with a custom-built coat. He said that he couldn't help them and strange that there aren't any more mink pelts in Canada. Without hesitation, concern, or remorse, he handed back the deposit, thus losing a $10,000 sale. Plus, future sales. It's very strange and rude behaviour for such a highly reputable store owner. It's like he was a completely different person. We will not be returning to Barrington's and have informed our friends, colleagues, and their networks (many of whom are his customers) of this unfortunate experience.

As for the bag, I bought an Anello Alton backpack. Quality is really good and it's new. I was worried that it could be counterfeit or could be used (I see lots of videos online about this issue). Overall I recommend this store for your bag needs. They've gaied a repeat customer for their personal touch and I'll be sure to support this local business for future bag purchases, either for me or for more gifts.
