We've known Julia for 10 years. We trained our first lab puppy with her, and now she's helping us train our second lab puppy. We had 5 guests over for dinner recently, and our 4-1/2 month old lab pup stayed on her cot for the entire meal, almost an hour! That was even with the cat repeatedly walking past her and circling through the dining room. Our guests kept asking, "How old is she?!" Julia understands dog behavior, and is great at teaching effective training tools to her clients. Our pup not only understands what we're asking of her, she's enjoying the process as much as we are. Julia is knowledgeable, professional, and compassionate. She makes training positive and fun!

Julia helped me teach my fur child the importance of going to her bed when told and staying until releases. Here she is taking a snooze.

There came a day when my lovely quirky lab began acting out and became a bit unmanageable. I reached out to Julia owner of Coach for Canines for help. Julia was able to not only help my dog but also helped me in understanding her behaviors but taught me how to provide her leadership and guide her. She has a lovely large outdoor space for training and so much knowledge that I am constantly learning along with my dog. After 3 training sessions my dog has a completely differently mentality and is back to being obedient and working on some really cool skills like recall! Highly recommend giving coach for canines a call!

We began seeing Julia about 3 months ago. We needed help with basic training, but most of all my cattle dog Nova was very reactive to other dogs, especially after two attacks by a neighbor dog. Julia gave me the training and tools my dog and I needed to get comfortable walking around the neighborhood and being less reactive (sometimes not at all) around other dogs. We're getting better every day! I feel prepared to handle most situations and Nova has never been happier! I HIGHLY recommend Coach for Canines to anyone who needs training for their pup! She cares about the dogs and owner and goes the extra mile to make sure that you and your dog are working together harmoniously.

The trainers genuinely care about helping both dogs and owners succeed. While some of the feedback can be tough to hear at first, its all with the goal of creating clarity and consistency for the dog---and it really works. We quickly realized that many behavior issues came from our own mixed signals or inconsistent commands. The trainers are knowledgeable, patient, and make sure corrections are fair and appropriate. The progress we've seen has been amazing, and our home is so much more balanced as a result. The classes have also been great for socialization, which we know is just as important as training. Our pup absolutely loves going---it's fun, structured, and rewarding. We'll definitely continue with future classes and highly recommend this program to anyone looking to build a strong bond with their dog.

My cousin and I brought our puppies here, and while most of the trainers were great, our experience…read morewith Janet, the owner, was disappointing. As the only ones with smaller dogs, we felt she was unpleasant toward us. She spoke to us unkindly and repeatedly tried to push her collars and leashes, insisting that our martingale collars were cheap, even though they worked perfectly throughout the training. Another trainer was also unnecessarily aggressive, making us feel as if we didn't know what we were doing. This treatment occurred every week, leaving us feeling so singled out that we decided to skip the last class and never returned. The classes are also held in a parking lot, depending on the location, which wasn't ideal. After this experience, I found some free online classes that were more effective. I regret paying for the service we received and wouldn't recommend this place unless they take this feedback constructively. Hopefully, both the owner and some of the trainers can work on improving their people skills.

As a…read morenew dog owner, I'll admit the process felt a bit unconventional, and I decided to wait a few days after she returned home to write this review so I could evaluate the results objectively. Now that we are home, I am incredibly pleased with the outcome. Milot's behavior has shifted significantly for the better. Anthony spent two hours with me during pickup to ensure I understood the commands and techniques he used, and by implementing those daily, I've seen a massive difference in our routine. While the 'behind-the-scenes' of intensive training can feel a bit like a black box for a first-time owner, the results speak for themselves. If you are looking for a program that delivers a noticeable transformation, it is well worth the investment. I'm very happy with Milot's progress! Other things to note - Anthony was very responsive. Sent videos of progress and video chats as well - clean/brushed/bathe at least once before pickup - flexible with drop off and pickup Happy with the result. Highly recommend.

They let me know he wouldn't be able to stay unless he received professional training. With only two weeks before our trip, I reached out to PowerHouseK9. Anthony took him in for a week and made an incredible difference. He taught our dog to heel, walk calmly, and stop pulling on the leash. The improvement was obvious the moment we picked him up. Anthony is knowledgeable, patient, and clearly skilled at working with strong, high‑energy dogs. I'm extremely grateful for the results and highly recommend PowerHouseK9 to anyone looking for effective, professional dog training.
