I had a disappointing experience at the appliance store where a salesperson rudely pushed us aside while we were examining an appliance. Bad Bad customer service. Unfortunately we bought our appliances there, they told us we will get them in 2 months max, it was 9 months until we got them all. We understand the shipping was hard due COVID but the way the manager screamed at me was not acceptable, he did it twice and hanged up on me, he even called me stupid, then I asked to speak with a higher person, he was kind of nice at the beginning but none took responsibility of not telling us they were going to take tooo long to deliver our appliances. We wouldn't mind waiting but it was the way they dealt with the situation, the way the deal with not satisfied customers it shows how lack of customer services training they have. The whole purchase went extremely smoothly, from Raj Srinivasala , who assisted us in the store,to todays installation of the cooktop. Raj was very helpful, and able to answer all our questions. He gave us a couple of names for installers, who he could recommend. The delivery was on time and efficient. The installer Han Appliances, liased with the delivery, and they proved to be an excellent choice. We would certainly use Coast Appliances for any further purchase if we needed one. Worst customer service ever. Bought a brand new Samsung fridge and within one year it proved to unreliable temperature-wise, and had a faulty function. It also had sharp edges on drawers, which cut our fingers as we were grabbing food items from the drawers. Did they honour the one year manufacturer's warranty? NO. Their customer service is horrible. The manager gave us the runaround for weeks, saying that they were having issues with Samsung, so they wouldn't exchange the fridge. (FYI that's the store's problem, not the customer's.) When we didn't hear back from the manager, we followed up with the staff, who were patronizing, to put it nicely. I wouldn't buy an appliance from here again even if it was next to free. read more

We spent a lot of money on high end appliances. Our Wolf Range arrived and the box corner was damaged. We had the box lifted and the damaged box corner underneath reviewed nothing but the opposite side showed our range smashed. Clearly they turned the box around to try and hide the damage. We were left waiting several weeks more for a stove and having to eat take out for so much longer. Then finally weeks later we have our stove in and the Range Hood Buttons are sticking and we have a hell of a time getting coast to do anything about it. Almost everything we bought from them was late and broken. Now we have an outdoor Kitchen and were promised a deal on some stuff for that to compensate for what happened to us. Yesterday we were told no deal regular rate. They don't care about not getting our business. We said if its the same price elsewhere we will go elsewhere. We went elsewhere and what we needed was $70 cheaper than Coast and they were great to deal with and we don't have the long wait we get with coast. Dont buy from Coast they don't care. Since two months ago totem service people call to come and they do not show up. this action happened 4 times and when we call they say sorry we can not find the electrical part we call coast appliances and they pass us to totem service people I am surprised why there is no laws to take care of these thieves read more

I called to check on stock for a dishwasher at Coast Coquitlam. When I did not hear back from the sale person after an hour I consulted another company. The other company had stock on a higher end model of the dishwasher I wanted so I waited to ask my husband his opinion. After 3 1/2 hours the Coast Sales person called back and said they had stock so I thanked him and hung up. Later I completed the sale with the other company. Two days later the Coast salesperson called back and asked if I had decided yet and I said yes I purchased it elsewhere. He said "So you Lied " I said pardon me did you call me a liar? He said you lied when I called and told you I had stock, you bought it from someone else. I said no, I had not made up my mind by then and even if I had I owe you nothing . All you did was check stock. I told him we were long time Coast customers and have purchased many appliances from them in the past. I did a total kitchen renovation and purchased high end appliances from them. I have purchased laundry items additional refrigerators and freezers and have purchased items for my children for their homes from them. I emailed customer service to tell them my experience and of course they said this is not their normal practice and they would contact the manager and assistant manager and they would contact me. Of course I still haven't heard from them 5 days later. I do not want to speak to them now and my husband and I will never deal with them again. read more

We bought a fridge here 5 years ago and were sold an extended warranty that we were told would cover repairs. In the first week of September, our ice maker broke, so we called the extended warranty's repair company (Transglobal) to book a repair. Not only did the repair person NOT fix the ice maker, but the repair was done incorrectly and ended up completely breaking our fridge/freezer. We have been on the phone with Transglobal repair company almost daily for a month now, and they have been an absolute nightmare to deal with. The wrong parts are constantly ordered, repairs are not done correctly, and no one seems to care. After waiting a month for the repair appointment, the guy showed up today with parts for a washing machine instead of a fridge. Our family with 2 small children has gone A MONTH WITHOUT A FRIDGE. Management at Transglobal is nowhere to be found and won't respond to our calls and emails. In fact, the receptionist hangs up on us when we call. We called Coast Appliances to try to get some help, and we were told by Coast "Customer Service" that it's not their problem. So basically, Coast has no problem selling these extended warranties, but they don't want to take any responsibility for them. In our case, the extended warranty they sold us is essentially worthless and Coast will not do anything to help us. read more

Worst customer service I've received in a long time. Bought my washer and dryer little over 4.5 years ago. Bought the extended warranty (direct from Coast). Never received any official paperwork from them other than a receipt stating my washer was covered for 5 years. Washed a pillow which caused an off balanced load; the washer stopped working the door was locked wth no way to drain it. This was Saturday evening of a long weekend. No one works in their service department on weekends. Had to wait until Tuesday to get a hold of someone - who gave us the wrong warranty contact information (apparently they have an in house and a third party program). Finally getting a hold of the right person on Wednesday - who basically just told me to wait for a call from a tech. I couldn't get their number (which I asked for because I'm a busy person like everyone else). Tech calls Thursday. Doesn't want to have to drive in traffic so he refuses an appointment after 3pm in COQUITLAM. Had to wait until Friday - We book it for 1pm and he tells me not to be late. I cut a client meeting short to make it in time. Buddy shows up at 2p (so glad I cut that meeting short; but whatever) Buddy expects me to help him cart his tools through the house. I help because I'm able. He unlocks the washer while I'm on a call and all I hear is a bunch whining about how he wouldn't fix it in place because of liability issues, blah blah blah (I was later told by another repair company that the problem is super common and can be fixed on site). So buddy leaves, calls the office. He calls me back and tells me I have to pay for his service call - ITS SUPPOSED TO BE UNDER WARRANTY. I politely refuse to give him my credit card information. It's Friday at 3pm and my family of 4 (incl. 2 kids under 5) have now been without a washer for 6 days and are pretty much out of winter clothing. I'm told, I'll try to have this resolved by end of day - Claims manager went home early so we didn't get a reply. Called claims Monday at 10:30a because I still hadn't heard back from them. It was "still under review". Claims manager gets his receptionist to call me and tell me that my claim is declined because the load was "too small". I asked to talk to the manager. I was clear that our warranty was still valid for another 3+ months. He refused to cover it because the care guide says that you should "avoid small loads". When I asked how you would quantify a small load - he said "use common sense". Well the pillow was 1/3 the volume of the drum and weighed less than 2lbs. How the heck would someone that's not from the industry know that's a "small load". He replied with "well it was was a pillow". What the heck is that supposed to mean. I made my position clear. I told him I wanted my washingachone fixed because it was still covered under their "if anything goes wrong we fix it warranty". One minute later, after I asked for his manager (he was so arrogant that he told me there is no one else - I said, you have to report to someone) he hung up on me and refused to answer my return calls. It's been 9 days without a washing machine at home (thankfully my parents live in town) with no end in sight. My options are fight with them or pay out of pocket. Given that my 1yo appears to have come down with the flu - it might be the latter; but I will be telling every friend, family member and trade contact I have to avoid these guys at all costs. I recently purchased a new fridge, stove and dishwasher. The sales guy was okay, but did not mention that there was an extended warranty available for the appliances so I had to call back the next day to purchase it. The sales guy said he would email me the extended warranty papers but never did. 3 phone calls and 3 responses of "I'll send it right now" later, still no papers. I had to go back to the store in person to get my receipt and paperwork for the extended warranty. Poor service to say the least. The fridge arrived damaged with dents, chips and scratches down to metal on the fridge door. I called immediately and was told they would order a new one but there was no guarantee that one wouldn't be damaged either! I spoke to the covering manager Saeed and he stated that since I purchased "lower end appliances", damage was to be expected! What!!!??? I personally don't think spending $2600.00 on 3 appliances qualifies as "low end" and even if it does, who says that? Whether it costs $5.00 or $5000.00, people expect the goods to be intact and not damaged. How offensive for someone, especially a manager to say such a thing. I have dealt with Coast Appliances Coquitlam store for over 10 yrs, however, the dealings I experienced this time with the manager Joel has led me to believe that this store no longer values customer service or the value of honesty...perhaps the store cannot find any genuine, honest, hardworking and dedicated managers that care about customer retention and service, they are forced to hire employees such as Joel. It took over 10 days for someone to follow up with me with a full price quote and information, Joel never returned my calls when he said he was going to, he took out his personal issues on me and yelled at me on the phone for something that was not even my fault or issue, in the end he lied about the invoice total... I was truly frustrated and disgusted by the end result and behaviour... I will never shop with such an un loyal and non customer service oriented company again, nor will I any longer promote Coast Wholesale Appliances to friends and family like I used to it is just a waste of time and frankly quite upsetting..they maybe #1 in price and product selection but they are a BIG ZERO when it comes to loyalty, trust, and customer service....beware... read more

Had an excellent experience dealing with salesperson Donna at the Coquitlam Coast Wholesale Appliances. Got a fantastic price on my new appliances, less than the sale price at Sears. Delivery was scheduled for the day I requested, and the delivery team was very professional and careful not to damage anything. I actually missed the delivery by accident, and they were able to come back the same day for a small fee, which saved me a lot of hassle. We purchased all our appliances for our new house from Coast Wholesale Appliances in Coquitlam on United Boulevard. Finalizing the sale was no problem of course but once it came to scheduling the delivery, our salesman was argumentative and rude. We had taken in our quote from Trail appliances with all the model numbers already listed. We spent a total of $15,000, only to find out that we were sold the wrong double oven (a discontinued model JJW2830WP) that doesn't even work. It keeps showing an error message and shuts down. We were specific that we wanted the newer model as we handed the salesman the brochure of the one we wanted. When we called Coast to complain, they couldn't care less. We now have a $6000 paper weight until Jennair comes to fix it and we risk taking on cost of damages if any of our new cabinets are ruined. In addition, our microwave was scratched, our cook top came with no clamps, our fridge/freezer was missing knobs for the handle to attach and our hood fan had to be repaired within the first week of installation due to the lights not working on it. Our appliances were delivered while we were at the hospital (I had just delivered our 3rd baby) so our appliances were not signed for. When this was brought up to the sales manager, we were told "thats not our problem, you had 24 hours". Needing a gas range urgently, we went to coast appliances and bought one at a good price. We informed them that we needed it installed urgently as we had sold the place and the new owners were taking possession the next day. Everything was fine and they said they would send their sub-contractors, a company called Arjay Mechanical Inc based in Coquitlam, the very next day. I waited ALL day for Arjay Mechanical to come and they kept calling me to tell me they were delayed. Finally at 7pm they called and asked if they could come do the installation the next day. Due to the lateness of the hour and, feeling sorry for them, i agreed and gave them specific instructions to call me in the morning and let me know what time they would come as i have a baby that needs to nap and i will be unavailable while she is napping, probably for about 2 hours. The guy agreed and said they would call me. Nobody called. I sent them a text message at 12.01pm asking them what time they would come and that she was sleeping now. I received no response. 2 hours later i see that they just showed up without any advance notice and then they leave. I called them back and the owner of Arjay Mechanical was rude and extremely unprofessional! He was hostile and was yelling and screaming at me in the hallway of my building and then threatened to leave without doing the job and leaving me stranded. To cut a long story short, nobody at Coast Appliances bothered to take responsibility and basically passed on the buck to Arjay Mechanical by saying it wasn't their business and they had no control over anything even though I bought the range from Coast Appliances! All in all, i will never go to them again! read more

I purchase 5 major appliances from Coast on United Blvd. 4 were delivered on time as promised. The stove was not, I was told it arrived in Vancouver damaged and would arrive the following week. The salesman DW said he would call me on Monday to update. I did not receive a call and learned that he did not work Monday, Tuesday when I called him on Wednesday he could not find my stove on the order and said he would get back to me. He did not call me at any time except to return my calls, he took no initiative to keep me informed. On Friday morning he could not provide me with any update. At 5pm when I called again he put me on hold and eventually came back on the line to say yes he thought my stove was in but it would not be delivered the next day. I asked to speak to a manager and was connected with Joel, while he understood my frustration with DW and the lack of follow up and customer service advised me that he could do nothing to deliver the next day. Eventually he said that he would contact another delivery service that they sometimes used to see if they would deliver on Saturday and would call me Saturday morning. I was reluctant in the first place to purchase from Coast Wholesale because of the reviews, but frankly should have listened to my inner voice in the first place. In future I would deal with any other appliance store and most assuredly not with Coast, they aren't particularly interested in keeping customers, I suspect they believe that the next fool will come in the door and that customer service and reputation and relationship building of a business is a thing of the past. It's now a week later , I have received no follow up call, still no stove and no idea of what is going on, shocking. Well I guess I will have to wait until tomorrow to see if it is delivered. This week I have persuaded 1 person from choosing Coast Appliances for their appliance purchase, to go elsewhere, 1 down many to go, I intend on telling anyone that I know who is purchasing appliances to shop elsewhere. Word of mouth is still the best advertising, beware of unhappy customers, they tell one person, who tells one person and so on. read more
