My experience with Coast Junk couldn't have been better. I am in the process of moving out-of-state and had a pretty significant amount of stuff to be hauled away. I had tried the day before to get Junk King to come do the pickup, but they were a no-call no-show, even after calling their operator and having her contact the people that were supposed to come get everything. I ended up having to stay in town an entire extra day because I couldn't leave without disposing of all the trash and old furniture, etc. Junk King not showing cost me hundreds of dollars in extending truck and hauling reservations. It also put me in a position of needing to find someone to take all of it away on a Sunday. Thankfully, Phil came through and went so far as to rent a uhaul so he could take all the trash I needed disposed of, even though the dumps are closed Sundays. He arrived exactly when he said he would, waited patiently while I finished some business with my property manager, and got my trash and furniture loaded quickly. A+ customer service, extremely reliable, and was one of the nicest people I've ever hired to do a job. I can't recommend Coast Junk enough! read more

I never write Yelp reviews - because I usually don't feel strongly enough about a job. But for Phil and his team at Coast Junk, I have to say I'm super impressed. I've worked with a lot of contractors across a number of different trades, and I have to say that Phil is the best. A few concrete examples: * He lives up to his word - When he says he is going to do something, he will. * He over-communicates, to set the right expectations and always keep you updated * He performs / excellent quality - Most junk guys take "the big stuff." Phil took everything. * His positive attitude - This can't really be emphasized enough. Such the pleasure to work with. So polite and thoughtful - to everyone. * He goes above & beyond - He found a few cats on site and gave them food & water Overall, Phil is the type that takes OWNERSHIP ("I'm here to solve your problem, and I will manage the situation / take responsibility / communicate so you know what is going on.") ... Coast Junk is the best! Thanks Phil! We setup everything via text messaging and I received a great quote for services. Phil contacted me the night before and the next morning to make sure everything was ready. I'm moving to Indiana and decided I wanted to donate most of my furniture... and some of the pieces were quite heavy (especially the LARGE solid-wood armoir upstairs). I had requested 3 people because of the weight and location of the furniture and Phil made sure he had the manpower for the haul. In less than an hour they had everything out and loaded on their truck... with not a scratch on anything. Phil and employees are kind, courteous and very professional. In my opinion it just comes across as a bitter Ex and might be better to say something more like this!!! Not Bitter. Just want no ties or connection to someone as shady as you are. But not bitter. I'm just done being nice. PERIOD. For any of you using Coast Junk I want to make sure it is clear that he does NOT have permission to use my address in Prunedale which is listed as his business address. He lost that right when he walked out 9 months ago and left me with piles and piles of his junk to clean up along with unpaid bills he left me to pay. VERY pleased with the prompt, friendly service we received from Coast Junk! I e-mailed the day before, sent digital pics for him to guesstimate the cost; we exchanged text messages with the price range, depending on the actual amount of junk (by volume not weight) and the 2-hour time window, and then they called before coming. SO convenient to handle all aspects of the process via a mobile phone. Phil and his employee were fast and efficient, and we are so relieved to be rid of the debris from a demo project. He is located not far from us, and we prefer to work with a small business rather than a franchise operation (with whom he has had professional experience). Coast is my idea of a professional junk hauling company. Phil is efficient, honest, responsive, and very reasonable price-wise--he even gives senior discounts! Just as important, he donates every item he can rather than just recycle it. All the furniture went to people who needed it. He kept me updated on his expected time of arrival, which I appreciated, and arrived when he said he would. Phil is also flexible--I reduced the number of items I was donating, and he was very gracious about it, even though the cost for me was lower. We had been accumulating a bunch of various items - some junk, some not - but not used by us for years and very heavy..... We finally decided it was time to make the move and I had luckily heard about Coast Junk Removal. PJ was very responsive and he & a crew member came up to Groveland and maxed out the capacity in the back of his truck and in his trailer. Great experience with these guys. We looked at a few and they had the best price. We set up a time and Phil kept in contact with us to let us know when he would arrive. They arrived right when they said and were very friendly and quick. After they loaded up the junk, they came back into the backyard and not only swept up the leaves that had settled under the pile, which wasn't part of their job, but they brought out a leaf blower and cleaned the whole patio and walkway! Coast Junk was truly amazing. Very patient, kind, experienced crew. I needed a service to pickup furniture at Big Lots in Watsonville and deliver to my home in Ben Lomond. They were extremely helpful. I even had to move it to a Sunday, because I had to work on a Saturday, and even though it was their day off, they helped me anyway. I went with Coast Junk after a quick on line estimate. I'm really happy with the service. I had a 10 yard drop box/trailer dropped off quickly and WAY less expensive than the normal green dumpster services. Friendly staff placed the dumpster exactly where I asked and picked it up when it was full. No extra charges for "bulky" items.
