I considered just walking away from the extremely disappointing experience I had with Mark Alano, but decided I had to speak up to protect others with upper cervical UC issues. Please read his website essay about himself starting with "nestled in the charming seaside town... "If you are one of those patients "from bustling Boston or quiet corners of NH ", or the Maine lobsterman or Wall Street executive needing "top-notch care tailored to your unique needs", I suggest that you save yourself the time and trouble of the trip. You will get 7.5 minutes per session. Yes, I have it in writing. And if you bring in a half sheet of paper with three questions on it, you will be scolded. No time for questions. Not even: What are you doing for me today and how is it going? He says that's doubting him. Then he will use up most of your limited time talking about himself or doing a rant on Dr. Fauci. The next patient comes down right after you do and sits outside the door watching and hearing you. This is as unsettling as it is a blatant HIPAA violation. The worst part is I checked his entire testimonial of himself because I had sensed that something was off when I saw him with a toddler. He is listed as a pediatric and extremities chiropractor. So his practice is kids and anything non-spine like wrists, knees, and shoulders. I figured someone like him would brag about UC credentials if he had them. When confronted, he reluctantly admitted to me that he is not a UC Chiropractor as getting certified was too hard. But he claims he is one. It's all over his website. Quite unethical and potentially harmful to the patient. This should not be allowed. As for me: Long drive, visit of mere minutes, no meaningful adjustment, no dialogue, no kindness, no expertise in evidence. I cut my losses and sadly looked elsewhere for help. I would venture a guess that he did not answer my simple questions because he did not know the answers. Stay away if you have a serious problem with your neck. There is no upper cervical help here. He wasted my time getting pain relief from a serious neck misalignment. After reading his reply, I must say I stand 100% by what I wrote. He is very taken with himself. The three rants he angrily did on Dr. Fauci bothered me and I told him that. No joke there. But I'm not going to pick The reply apart piece by piece, but it is quite inaccurate. Excellent man and chiropractor. Dr. Alano truly cares about his patients and is an absolute expert.

I love this clinic. I have seen a lot of chiropractors and many of them are ineffective or have a slimy salesman vibe. This place is not at all like that. The staff is smart, professional and friendly. The doctor is warm, attentive and effective. I would definitely recommend this clinic. read more

Not happy with Alano's services at all. For starters, people are asked to sit right outside the open-door treatment room and you can clearly hear his conversations with other patients which is uncomfortable. It truly feels like a conveyor belt- out comes one, in goes another for a quick 7 minute appointment, half of which is spent with Alano speaking about himself. I have been going for a few months with zero improvement of my symptoms. I honestly feel better when my wife is simply massaging my neck, than I do after a visit here. This practice is a sham, he does extremely little amount of actual, meaningful adjustment. Stay away! read more

Have seen Mark off and on for years - always satisfied with his treatment - plus he has always had the time to make me feel comfortable.

After going to countless doctors with no relief for my neck, shoulder, back, hips, and knee pain, I diagnosed myself with a atlas subluxation. I researched around and found that this place specializes in upper cervical manipulations. I was thrilled however.. I had to call numerous times to schedule an appointment due to office vacations and super booked schedules. When I finally had a consultation I had x-rays, posture tests, foot scans, the whole nine, yet no adjustment. I was told I had a "huge" subluxation, twisted hips, hypermobility, pronation of the foot and a few other small tidbits.He said he would fix me. Made an appointment for the following friday (8 days later). I was happy that someone had finally figured out what was wrong with me and Dr. Alano was VERY nice. After a week of discomfort and a trip to urgent care (for collarbone issues that were causing me to breath strange), I was looking forward to my appointment. When I got there the receptionist informed me that they had a lot of "emergencies" and that he would only be able to give me an adjustment, no time to go over my x-rays and findings. I was okay with that until I over heard the patient before me thanking them for allowing her to come in FOR THE THIRD TIME that week for an emergency visit. I would have liked to go over the findings before an atlas adjustment but I was in pain. Afterward I felt great. I made an appointment with the receptionist for the following week for clinical findings (should take about an hour). On that day yet again there were a lot of "emergencies". Got a 15 minutes adjustment while he stopped to take a look at another patients x-rays. Made an appointment for the following week. Now I've already paid $120 for a co-pays and an extra $50 for him to review previous x-rays and my urgent care x-rays. That's $170 without even discussing the findings. I can feel my spine slowly adjusting to the adjusted atlas but now my hips and knees are getting worst. I expressed this to the receptionist and she could only offer me a sooner appointment but didnt have an hour slot open for the clinical findings discussion. I declined since that would mean another $80 I'd have to spend before I can find out the details and severity of what's wrong with me. I'm a 26 year old young lady and extremely worried about some of these serious symptoms and I thought that this was the type of place that actually cared about my issues rather than making money.
