I had three appointments, at the Hinesville,GA location, with them and all three times were definitely worth it. When I had to do root canals before, I remember the long visits because of the anesthesia waiting time and the root canal taking several hours with jarring pain every now and then. At Coastal, everything is up-to-date, i didn't expect a computer determining how much anesthesia to administer, the quality of X-rays, and more. Coastal is like my top meter level and I will start holding other dental clinics to their standard. The dentist was knowledgable but not arrogant or up-tight, like my previous dentists, he was personable, caring, and very professional. He definitely knows whats he doing and makes sure you understand everything that is going on, to include how to read the X-rays. The Dental Assistants, Alexia & Keely, were just as smart as the dentist and much more caring, focused on the procedures, definitely made me feel like I wanted to be there because they took the anxiety and stress out of the dental visit that most people would get when going to the dentist. They offered a blanket and a pillow for waiting for the anesthesia to take effect and because of the cold temperatures of the AC or when I was waiting to see the dentist. When the procedures were done, they gave me a warm towel to wipe my face, for a moment i thought i was traveling first class, i did not expect that at all. The conversation with dentist after the procedure to talk about follow-up care and a cool X-ray of what happened during the visit so you can look at the before and after was pretty cool. Monique was very helpful on assisting in navigating the coastal website and other signatory information that had to get done. These visits were definitely memorable dental experiences. If i ever had to go off-base to another dentist and was stationed at Ft. Stewart longer, i would definitely put in a request to go there again. read more

This was my first root canal and my experience was OUTSTANDING! From the ladies warm welcome to the office to the procedure and check out everyone was fantastic! Jenna was so kind and helpful getting my initial paperwork done quickly and painlessly! Jutta was my assistant and she was so warm and comforting in getting my x-rays and listening to my concerns. Dr. Jay Geistkemper was fantastic and so professional. He listened to my problem that brought me to the office, told me the plan, and walked me through every step during the procedure. I had such a poor experience at this place. I was referred to Dr.Lee by my new dentist, and of course he forgot to mention that it was out of network from my insurance. Jokes on me. But since it was an emergency I decided to proceed with the treatment. Every time estimated price would rise, on top of that they charged my insurance. During the treatment Dr.Lee left me for another client, while I sat there for about 40 minutes without being able to close my mouth. I've run into a Professor that only uses Cone Beam CT Imaging on the entire head. Bones, nerves, all teeth, etc for $200.00.. then I went back and looked at Coastal Endodontist bill and they have Cone Beam CT Imaging but only used it on 1 of my teeth, a healthy one and charged the insurance $455.00 for that one tooth. The broken teeth were ex rayed normally?? This is fraud and malpractice!! Just like trying to convince me I have a neurological disorder in that broken tooth was fraud and malpractice!! They have Cone Beam CT Scanning which is the best ex ray for teeth, make them use it but do not pay $500 per tooth.. that's stupid!!! Normal ex rays do not show infections, fractures or root breaks! read more

I had my first (and hopefully ever) root canal and I was so nervous about the whole procedure! Not too mention I am extremely uneasy when it comes to needles. Dr Lea was amazing and it went seamlessly. He made sure I was comfortable the entire time. By choice I was not in a rush to get a crown. I no longer live in Richmond Hill so I had my new dentist take care of it. He said it was one of the best root canals he has ever seen! I was referred to Coastal Endontics by my dentist because I needed a root canal. From the check in with Laura Lee to the checkout with Delaney, I was treated with the utmost care. I am handicapped with a scooter and there was a plant on the porch that inhibited me from going straight in the door. Laura Lee got up immediately and moved it with no problem. I felt great that she responded so well, which sometimes does not happen. The assistant, Jojo took great care to make sure I was stable when I had to stand to take 360 degree x-rays. Each step, they asked how they could make it comfortable and easy. Dr. Christopher Lea explained each step. He had fascinating, state of the art equipment, which made each step easy and painless. When I get nervous, I get humorous, they responded in kind. The even had a warm scented towel at the end of the procedure. They allowed me to set up a payment plan, as I have no dental insurance. I don't give 5 stars often but when you go to get a root canal done and the pain is about a 1 and the doc makes jokes and explains everything he is doing is a great plus in my book. The staff was friendly, they also had very clean equipment, they where also very knowledgeable and didn't hesitate to explain what they were doing. I'm sure the root canal experience here is great. But if your just getting a consult and don't want to pay $200 then don't come here. They will tell you that you will not be billed for their "state of the art" equipment they use that no one else has and the office will write it off. However, if you don't want to have the service they recommend done or make appt for it in the next 30 days be prepared to be billed for this so called write off. Unethical and unacceptable. Then be prepared for the staff to call you debt collector style about this so called write off. Just like a wolf looking for its prey. They saw my DENTAL INSURANCE PLUS HSA AND WANTED TO TAKE A BITE OF IT.. How can an office tell you one thing then bill you $200? Because they can that's how. read more

Unbelievably Relaxing!!!!! I was terrified when I found out I needed a root canal. My anxiety levels were off the charts. Once I arrived I relaxed a little. The decor of the office felt more like a beautiful home rather than a Doctor's office. The receptionist was very kind and pleasant. OK - anxiety level reduced by about 20% but I still had to have the procedure done. Dr. Lea was absolutely amazing. He first started by explaining the procedure and answered all of my questions. Anxiety level at 50% now. Time to get prepped....in other words time for the needle!!! With their state of the art digital technology I barely felt a thing. Wish I can tell you about the actual procedure but I went to sleep!!!! The cherry on top was a lavender infused compress with my aftercare instructions. I want to thank Dr Lea and the entire staff at Coastal Endodontics for their consummate professional services provided to me. Dr. Lea and his staff's attention to detail, patient centered focus and communication skills are refreshing in today's "get'em in and get'em out" medical world. They used high tech to communicate while wrapping it in the best "bedside manners" I've seen lately. An old root canal had caused an abscess under the tooth causing quite a bit of pain. My dentist had identified the problem during an 8am "emergency" appointment and called Coastal Endodontics for consultation. Coastal's response was to have me come over and they would work me in. When I arrived, Coastal's staff was being challenged due to one of the staff's involvement with an auto accident, but they still focused on patient care and maintained a friendly and calming environment. Shortly I underwent a 3d Xray and was seated in a chair while Dr Lea carefully described my problem supported by the video from the Xray. After administering some anesthetic and a short wait they completed the first half of my root canal's restoration. In order to fit me in without an appointment and treat me they worked thru lunch and I was completed before 1pm. Thanks Coastal. read more

I visited Coastal Endodontics earlier this year for a consultation. After review, Dr. Lea determined that a root canal wasn't completely necessary at that time, but prepared me with what may happen if my condition worsens and when to call if I started to see the "signs" of a dying nerve. I so appreciated that he didn't jump the gun on treatment just to make a few bucks!! When my condition progressed, Josh was able to accommodate my appointment last minute for a root canal, which I so appreciated. It was 4:30 in the afternoon, but all of the staff was pleasant, and I did not feel rushed like they were trying to get out and go home. Laura Lee checked me in; she was thorough & clear when explaining the quote and paperwork to be completed. Dr Lea & Christa were excellent during the prep for the treatment (explaining everything in detail), and it really was the most comfortable that you can expect a root canal to be! Christa assisted Dr. Lea flawlessly, and they communicated well with each other during the procedure. Dr. Lea used simple, easy to understand explanations for everything I had going on and what he was going to be doing. After treatment, Dr. Lea explained my care instructions and made sure that I knew how to get ahold of him if there was an emergency over the holidays. During check out, Serena smiled constantly. She was clear and concise in relaying the charges for treatment and made sure that I had all of the information that I needed upon departure.
