Words can't even describe how thankful I am for Dr. Schnorr and everyone at Coastal. Dr. Schnorr got us pregnant with our first baby via IVF. I knew from the minute I met him that he was the doctor for me. He is realistic, extremely knowledgeable and truly cares. He really knows what he's doing. He came up with the perfect protocol for me and I had success with my very first transfer. Tavi, my nurse was so amazing. She was so comforting and sweet throughout my whole journey. She always answered on the first ring and was there for me for every question and step. Every one there was amazing but a special shoutout to Maggie and Barbara who always went above and beyond for me and always made me feel important during every appointment. I've had an incredible experience after switching from another clinic. I felt supported and that I was receiving the top quality of care each visit. I adore everyone here from the doctors, nursing staff to the folks at front desk. My Coastal baby just turned 1 and getting ready for another IVF cycle to try for #2. After 17 months of unsuccessfully trying for a baby, my husband and I were sent to Coastal. I was hesitant because I had been offered no other options by my OB, but this was because my day 3 labs were "normal" and I most likely had "unexplained infertility" ... my husband and I had already decided against trying IVF, but were hopeful that Coastal would offer some more digging on why I wasn't getting pregnant. We were told that Coastal offered more than just IVF and that they were fertility specialists who's goal is to get you pregnant. This could not be further from the truth. We were referred to Dr. Schnorr, which I later found out is the founder and director (makes sense). It was not an appointment, but rather an IVF sales pitch. He reviewed my day 3 labs from five months earlier and concluded that my AMH (on the lower end of normal, but still well within normal range) was the culprit and gave me a 2-3% chance of conceiving naturally, despite extremely regular cycles and confirmed ovulation. I expressed concerns over family history of thyroid disease and symptoms that could possibly point to an auto-immune disorder and endometriosis. My concerns were dismissed and he told me those have nothing to do with my infertility and that my only options were IVF or IUI, but IVF was the best option (of course- more money!). I asked about getting more extensive lab work done to find a root cause and requested trying letrozole, clomid, and/or progesterone. All of these requests were shut down. He weaponized my AMH against me to make a sale. I have no judgement towards anyone who chooses the route of IVF, but it is extremely disheartening to me that Dr. Schnorr preys on couples, women in particular, who are in desperate and vulnerable situations to sell his product rather than help the patient. I wonder how many women have walked the tumultuous and expensive path of IVF, with no guarantees of success, who could've actually conceived naturally with the right help. Coastal Fertility's end goal is not pregnancy, it's IVF sales. Please consider this before making an appointment with them! read more

I did not have a good experience here at all. I cannot recommend them. It started off good, & then the bills began to come. They have been wrong & it's impossible to get ahold of anyone, and it's frustrating & stressful to get it all figured out. I will say the procedures that I had done with them went smoothly but the billing has been a disaster. Afterwards there was one follow up conversation, I felt like a number not a patient going through something. I would never go back. read more

My body is messed up for life after donating and them taking out 38 eggs. 8 years later....I'm still having complications. Everytime I have to go get an ultrasound and get stuff removed from growths from cysts, it reminds me of this horrible place. read more

If I could give zero stars, I definitely would! I began my testing journey at this facility in 2021, and following my HSG procedure, they diagnosed me with hydrosalpinx in my right fallopian tube. Without conducting any further tests to confirm this, they immediately recommended surgery to remove my right fallopian tube and implied that IVF would be the only option left for me. Despite being insured, my husband and I had to pay a substantial amount out of pocket because they did not even bother to check our insurance coverage. It turned out that most of the tests could have been covered by insurance. Seeking a second opinion revealed that I actually have PCOS and my fallopian tubes were not blocked. The new doctor simply suggested IUI with medication instead. I strongly advise against going to this facility. If you prefer a local option, consider PREG! Otherwise, you may want to check out CNY, which offers payment plans for uninsured patients and costs only a third of the price. read more

Dr. Schnorr is great, my nurse and everyone that works there has been phenomenal and responsive. I haven't had any issues, my nurse responds to emails quickly which is great cause I can't be on the phone at work sometimes so I can just email. The Doctor has the best bedside matter and we are very happy in going to Coastal. read more

Unfortunately the billing department is highly disorganized and frequently did not respond to requests to fix incorrect bills or services billed multiple times. Pre-payment for cycles makes keeping up with billing (and errors) next to impossible. They say pre-payment is to reduce patient stress, however with lack of competence in the billing/finance, it actually makes it much more stressful. This experience has been expressed by other women I've spoken with. Unfortunately there were several medical errors by the nurse, as well. There are a number of good professionals there, but sadly the problematic areas are significant. I would recommend exploring other options. read more

Did not have the greatest experience here. There were issues, and when brought up, they got extremely defensive. I was just trying to have a simple conversation of what i experienced, and they jumped down my throat and took no responsibility. I found the staff workers to be short, and I believe that some of their practices are deceptive. There are so many other good places to go. I'd check on them first. read more

Dr. Slowey took advantage of me in the examine room. Dr. Slowey was also incredibly condescending, controlling, and unwilling to listen to questions or concerns. I do not recommend him or this clinic. read more

Unorganized office & their staff isn't on the same page. There's no online access for test results & I'm still trying to get mine. They said they'd call me within a week with the results (6+weeks ago) & they didn't even return my phone call requesting these. The doctor was nice and seemed knowledgeable but the support staff needs work. Also the financial consultant said lab work would be covered by my insurance b/c it was part of compiling a diagnosis but when I came back & had already gotten blood drawn they tried to get me to pay nearly $500 during check out. When I asked for clarification the cashier said it was fertility treatment & my insurance wouldn't cover it. Spoke with the finance person again & she said insurance should cover it but she couldn't guarantee it... still waiting to see how that plays out. They also tried to double bill me for my initial visit. I paid in office and then got a bill in the mail for the exact amount I had paid that day. I will not be going back. read more

The doctor is running a business first and foremost, so if you as a patient conflict with their ability to generate maximum profits, you'll find yourself in a tough spot. Dr. Schnorr's office (Coastal Fertility Specialists) was providing critical IVF monitoring to us during our IVF cycle, but left us without any medical care mid-cycle. Though they advertise Saturday hours to support such monitoring (because IVF isn't a M-F affair after all), they had no problem cancelling our appointment on the Friday prior, attempting instead to force us to drive to one of their other offices 2.5 hours away. When we protested, it was revealed by staff that Dr. Schnorr ordered our local office closed because there weren't enough patients scheduled for that day (ie- it didn't make financial sense for the office to be open that day). Beware of what you're signing up for with Dr. Schnorr and Coastal Fertility Specialists. They want your money...nothing more. We're now patients of Advanced Fertility in Columbia, partly because they did open their office to see us on that now infamous Saturday, and they opened it despite the fact that we aren't even established patients with them, and they did so without regard to profit. read more
