Once we got there, she seemed to fit right in and the teacher (Marcy) was very helpful at taking time with her to get her caught up Classes in her age range (3-5 year olds I think) are a little less than an hour long. She seems to genuinely have a good time while learning basic gymnastics routines, coordination, listening, and patience. The facility itself is super clean and nice. We ultimately decided to cancel our membership because of the poor customer service. We needed to adjust our class times, so I spoke with both a front desk employee and one of the coaches. I was told the change had been approved, so we made the drive from quite a distance to attend. When we arrived, instead of acknowledging the confusion, the staff talked over me and argued that the coaches and front desk employees don't have the authority to make those decisions. That may be true internally, but as a customer, I relied on the information your staff provided. A simple apology for the misinformation and for the inconvenience of driving all that way would have gone a long way. Instead, the interaction felt defensive rather than customer-focused. Mistakes happen, but how a business responds to them is what leaves a lasting impression. Unfortunately, the lack of accountability and poor customer service led us to cancel our membership. read more

Love it here. My daughter is a year old and we attend the open gym time. Though the age limit is 0-7, the older kids are very polite and watch out for the little ones running around. Parents are also very cautious and remind the older ones to take turns and watch for babies. There is staff and teachers walking around engaging in conversation and playing with the littles. Our 3 year old daughter has been going here for about 10 months. She LOVES going to class each week and she has learned so much! She is in the Big Kahuna class and adores Coach Megan. Megan is so great with the kids no matter the class size. It can be difficult to coordinate young kids, but she does a great job giving them all the attention they need. Coastal Gymnastics has the PERFECT program for my very active two year old grandson! My 6 year old daughter has been coming to Coastal Gymnastics since May 2015. She loves it all the coaches are super sweet and nice. The only down side is that there is no A/C in the building. They do have 1 fan downstairs but it's not enough for all the parents to keep cool. But other than that I love this place. read more

I have one child in the dance program and one on the Xcel gymnastics team. My dancer loves taking jazz, lyrical, hip-hop and tap! The teachers are fabulous and the class sizes are small, which allows for a lot of dedicated time for each child to learn and thrive. The class times are very convenient, as is the location right off of Palomar Airport Road. I am amazed at how much my daughter has learned in the last year and a half. She is more confident and happy than I have seen her in years and I feel that I owe much of that to the fantastic dance program that Coastal offers. The Xcel team is a wonderful group of children that are blessed with incredibly talented and dedicated coaches. The children are challenged, but in a safe and caring environment. My daughter is currently enrolled and she just loves Coach Marcie! She looks forward to her class every week. I love how the open space for seating lets me see her the entire time she's in the gym space. The only reason I dropped it down a star was the sign up process. While the desk people are friendly the sign up process wasn't that breezy. We took a free first lesson and just signing up for that entailed me calling then being directed to the website then being directed to call back. They wanted my credit card information but I told them we just wanted a trial class. After our trial class my daughter loved it so I decided to sign her up. I was told the monthly cost and gave my information. After my card was already swiped the girl told me a different total which I guess included a registration fee. I don't mind paying that but it was a really sneaky way to add that cost after I handed over my card. A week after her starting they also sent out an email about increase in monthly rate. Like I said the coach is great with the little kids but the business aspect I'm not so sure. Will have to see how the next few months go. read more

Poor customer service when trying to contact the staff. No one ever answers the phones and you are forced to leave a phone message with hopes of getting a phone call back. I stop bringing my child in October because we moved further inland to Fallbrook. Paid services for November, December, and January (was charged membership fee). I left a message the first week of December and never received a callback, which led to charges in January $100. I had my wife call and eventually emailed them through the website portal and they said we would not get charged for February and that we were not eligible for a refund. They also stated that I never called and left a message, which was not the truth at all. Their website also gives you no option to cancel your membership. If they answered their phone as most normal businesses do, then I would have salvaged my charges in January. Unsatisfactory and is treating it's customers as if it operates on its rules with no real concern for customer refunds and satisfaction. The lack of canceling on the website coupled with not answering the phone allows this company to yield more fees, even if the intent of the customer is to cancel. read more

My daughter started at Coastal Gymnastics Academy about a month ago and goes twice a week. So far it is great! All of the coaches are very nice and great at coaching the girls of all levels. The coach will give the girls different tasks throughout the 90 minutes and the coach stays very attentive to each gymnast. My daughter does not feel lost or behind in the class at all and is always very excited to go back and learn new things. The monthly price is a bit high but every gymnastics place around here is pricey. I have already recommended Coastal Gymnastics Academy to other parents. read more

This gym started offering custom classes during COVID so we had a group of boys join for an outlet from being quarantined. At the beginning we were asked what they wanted to learn so they boys told them. The boys said they were interested in learning new things but never really learning anything and were not allowed to use some of the equipment. When I asked why this was, the coach said she didn't know how to use the equipment??? So then we signed them up for the advanced class in hopes to have them learn more and get a better coach. But nope, instead they isolated our boys and they never learned anything new. After paying for several months and going through multiple different coaches, the owner basically told the parents after class one night "this was not the right place for your sons and we should take them somewhere else". How very sad for our boys and for a company trying to survive through a pandemic. We will never be back and will discourage others from going there. read more

I absolutely adore this gym! Coastal gymnastics encourages a healthy training environment for every level and class available. As a member of their JO program, I am impressed by the passion and care for both the sport and the children training under them. In addition, the recreational coaches are well trained and understand how to work the equipment and spot properly. Their response to COVID was well thought out, as team members are expected to wear their mask while training and the equipment is cleaned in between each group. Also, each group maintains social distance practices for extra safety. All in all, this gym is fantastic and they make gymnastics ten times better. read more

My daughter, Layla, started at Coastal a few months ago and she can't get enough of it! She absolutely loves coach Yoselyn and coach Trace. They always know the kids names and are extremely friendly and caring. I started my daughter in the class that was listed for her age and they happened to be testing that day. They moved her up a level right away because she was able to complete the skills. We're loving the Summer Special and hope that they do it again next year! My 4 year old asked me out of the blue if she could do Gymnastics, so I came across Coastal Gymnastics on Yelp. It's been about 6 weeks or so an my daughter absolutely loves it. She looks forward to her class on Saturday each week and participates in all the activities, follows directions from the coaches and isn't distracted or bored like she was in Karate. They have a large sitting/watching area for parents and a cafe with coffee and snacks. The price for my daughter's age group is very reasonable. Very short sighted --- my GrandDaughter (4.5yrs) participated one month on a Living Social voucher... the Owner would NOT allow her to continue a second month, as her Mother had also purchased a Voucher. She would have had many, many more years and months of full fare gymnastics, had the owner been more reasonable and honored the 'fine print' verbage ...ie: Limit one per customer! It does not say "One per child". Pam, the instructor was great, unfortunately the owner is unable to view the 'big long term picture' and follow through with positive customer service. That's what running a public business is all about. So we all lose --- except Oceanside Gynmastics when she is now enrolled. BTW, I received a full refund from Living Social. My four year old daughter has been taking gymnastics at different gyms off and on since she was 1 year old. She has had some fun but with the way the instructors at CGA coach, she has been learning the most and enjoying herself more then ever. 6th Year Birthday Party was a hit! Thanks to Costal Gynastics for making a special birthday for my daughter. We had our original plans for her party fall through and called Costal Gynastics kinda last minute. They were accomodating and fit us in, answered our questions and made my daughter a very happy girl. Now my 3 year old wants her 4th bday party there and also wants to join so I'm sure we'll be enrolling our two daughters very soon. The staff was very considerate, engaging and focused on the kids. I was so hopeful about this gym. They have so many pros. I love how supportive the older girls are of the little ones. Overall, it seems to be a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. However, the communication is lacking to say the least. I never knew what was going on. I had to ask a number of times when I needed to pay when my daughter was first starting. There was never any upfront information. I even rushed to get my daughter to practice on Fridays only to realize we were 30 minutes early. Not once, but twice because they couldnt decide on a start time. It didnt really bother me until it came down to competing time. My daughter is level 2 so we're completely new to this. The owner signed my daughter up for all the meets before giving me any information such as dates, locations and costs. It was $300 worth of meets that were mandatory and non-refundable. Even after I expressed my concern about the lack of communication, the owner not once offered to meet with me to go over everything. Overall, it would have been a wonderful experience all around had the communication been better. Really sad it didnt work out. I was so sure it would be my daughters new gym home. No gym is perfect but communication is a big one. read more

I really love every thing about this place. I will start with the coaches...they are all super friendly and always greet your kid by name and with what seems to be sincere enthusiasm. The classes are small, I would estimate that any time there is more than six or seven kids, another coach jumps in. All the equipment is pristine and there is a definite emphasis on fun and safety. I love how accessible the coaches are. They always are providing feedback when you ask and you always know exactly where your child skills are and what they need to do before they can get to the next level. They give you a written assessment every 6 or 8 weeks that shows the skills that they have mastered. It is just a very positive and fun environment. There is a lot of space to hang out and watch your kids and I never have a problem getting on the wifi. I moved to this gym from another local gym a few months ago and am so so so happy that i did. read more

I think this place is wonderful. It's such an inspiration for my little one to come here, every morning she wakes up and asks if it's a gymnastics day. She's so inspired by the "big girls" on the team who are doing their training at the same time as her class. Watching those team girls gives me a lot of confidence in the coaching staff, and especially the owner. I see there is a bad review there, but that seems way out of left field. The owner seems very committed to giving kids a good experience, more so than adhering to any stingy business model.
