My daughter has been going here for almost a year and we recently got an email that said that they are removing the 11:30am class all together because of low attendance. While I understand this was a business decision the way it was handled was poor and unprofessional to just receive an email like this. There should have been a call following up in regard to offering suggestions of a different time for level one, an explanation for how refunds for the month would be handled. Just more care and professionalism. For the level one, I feel there is an inconsistency of attendance from the same teacher and felt more like they are just interested in collecting monthly fees vs truly caring about kid's interest, excitement introduction to gymnastics as there were never communication of progress and the teachers updated the progress report twice out of the entire year. Over 3 months ago, my husband and I began to wonder if this was a place for level one kids to just come and have fun for an hr as there's not much development going on in level one. The way they handled cancelling a class infinitely that we've been going for a year was very unprofessional and a push for us to find another place to have our daughter join. read more

Great gym, my daughter who was aged 3 to 4 came here for her first gymnastics classes and the classes very much helped her excel in her athletic skills. Coach Lynn is wonderful with the children! And is the perfect fit for that age group. We live in Pt Loma and would drive up weekly all the way to San Marcos for the class. Thats how much we liked it. And gas aint cheap! They put on very cute show cases a couple times a year, which are fun and cute, and helps your child get that extra confidence with everyone cheering for them. My daughter was so excited to start doing gymnastics and today we had our trial and it went down hill the minute we walked in. Nobody was there to greet us, so we walked around to find sometime that we could talk. We saw someone that barely talked to us. I told her we were there for the trial and she asked us to sit and wait to be called. She called all the girls and she never even got a second to talk to my daughter to ask her age or if she had done gymnastics in the past. Her class started and my daughter was "lost" trying to do all the stretches and movements that they were doing, even back bridges and splits (my daughter has never done that before and even though without assistance she tried her best. After that the teacher asked the girls to go on the bars (I thought to myself that she would not let my daughter go because it was her very first time in gymnastics) for my surprise I was wrong and she asked one of the little girls to help my daughter to do the move (seriously???) My daughter tried many times on her own and the teacher never approached her to help or ask if she was okay. At the end my daughter fell hard on the ground twice, first time she got up and tried again, second time she hurt her nose pretty bad and immediately started crying. I called her and we left the place. Nobody tried to talk to us or ask how my daughter was feeling. Awful customer service! Awful experience! Never going back. read more

I have been going to this gym for years now and the patience and energy the coaches put into my now 6 and almost 3 year old are just wonderful! My son has been going to this gym now for almost a year. During COVID our kids really missed out on a lot and my son, really missed gymnastics which he had started at age 5. Boys programs aren't easy to come by and in North County, even harder. Every gym offers a girls program but to find a gym that offers a truly specialized boys program... that's something special. Coach Lalo and his team of coaches truly care out the kids and have taken my unruly, jokester and turned him into an athlete. My son practices 4 hours every week and is showing immense improvement all around in terms of discipline, concentration and coordination. I'm so proud of all he has accomplished. So much of that is because of the coaches and the incredible community and culture of PCG. You honestly can't find a better, more heartfelt place. read more

My son is in his 4th year on team. We drive from Carlsbad to go here because coach Lalo and Ryan inspire my son to do his best. Lalo and Ryan have both competed as level 10 gymnasts which means they know how to do what they teach. The boys on team are nice and the kind of boys you want your kids to be around. The boys have fun and the team is competitive. The gym is hot in the summer and cold in the winter. This is a family run gym and Diane knows most of the children's names. The fees are very competitive with other gyms and "THEY ALLOW MAKE UPS IF YOU MISS A CLASS!" I would recommend Pacific Coast Gymnastics! read more

OK OK, you got me. You won't find me busting out any cartwheels or parallel bar skills any time soon. But my daughter has been attending classes here for about a year now and she loves it. "We" are in the beginner level class and that works perfectly fine. The class sizes do range week by week it seems as well as by season depending on when kids are in school. However, I have rarely seen the kids left sitting and waiting for something to do. They keep them going and it does feel like you get your money's worth. The teachers have all appeared to take their time with the kids as needed and even when they are not all future Wheaties box bound, they still make them feel special and have fun. I might get in here and try out the foam pit though... it looks fun! read more

Our family LOVES PCG!! Let me share my family's experience with you. My oldest daughter Olivia (four years old at the time) began PCG mid-July of last year (2018). She began in the 4&5 year old co-ed class. She started out attending one day a week, then we went to two days a week since she fell in love with the class experience, knowledge she developed AND Coaches. Mid October BOTH Coach Ellie and Coach Lynn moved her up to level 1, which for her age was Seastars. She was still attending two days a week and wanted more. She loved it. And let me say, Olivia is a very shy, quiet- introvert till she gets to know new people and new places. Not here, she blossomed so quickly. She actually carried these values to school and grew there too. Teachers' were very impressed with how she came into her own since attending PCG. Forward to a month ago, mid January (two months later!) both Coach Lynn and Coach Allison moved Olivia to Level 2 -girls' class. YES, that quickly! Olivia turned five January 6th and is currently the youngest in both her classes.We also have my youngest daughter Alexis that just started in the 3-year-old co-ed class last month. She currently attends once a week and has Coach Lynn. Alexis adores Coach Lynn. She has so much fun walking in her sister's footsteps that took places only seven months ago. It's awesome to see Alexis and other students'- siblings begin their journey here. At the end of every class, all the kids and parents are just so happy. I've even met a few new mommy friends while watching my girls practice. The atmosphere is just so refreshing when we all know that this world can be so brutal. This place has become a part of our family and OUR network community. I've referred three friends that currently have a child that attends there and they too feel the same. I hope this very long, but HONEST review helps those of you that are looking for a place to help your child grow physically, emotionally and of course to have fun too. read more

Bernie and Dianne are by far two of the best, most dedicated people that I have ever met. The thing by that strikes me the most about Bernie and Dianne is just how much they love the girls, (and boys) and how much they pour into them. Recently we were forced to switch gyms because we moved and it was one of the saddest things I have had to do in a long time. We stayed for a year after we moved and made the long drive, because along with the training, the absolute best thing in the world was to see how much Bernie cared for our daughter, and how much she absolutely loved Bernie. I can't believe there are no reviews of this facility yet :) My son had his 5th birthday here in December and all the kids had an absolutely wonderful time. They got to use the equipment and play games and the instructors were fantastic and great with the kids. They had no problems letting the youngest child or the adults play. My son really wanted a place with a foam pit, and Pacific Coast delivered. :) All the kids loved this aspect. I was very happy they had available space as I waited until 2 weeks prior to call and with December being a big holiday party month, I think I got lucky. I didn't have to go in to fill out paperwork and just put a deposit on my CC over the phone. I had to laugh when my brother in law arrived very early and called to tell me no one was at the facility. I had to assure him they'd be there and were opening just for us. They let us arrive a little early to set up anything we had (including our own food) and gave us time to clean up after. No rushing us in and out like other places I've attended parties at. My son is now interested in taking gymnastic classes and I will absolutely look into the cost at Pacific Coast Gymnastics. And if he wants the same birthday this year I would not hesitate to call them. Thank You!!! read more

My daughter had her 4th birthday party here and it was fantastic! The coaches kept the kids interested...which is difficult with 3-6 year olds. They changed up the activities perfectly, moving from the trampoline to the balance beam and on to games. We ended with the foam pits which all the kids loved! Terrible! The instructors are rude and the owner doesn't care. My daughter said that it was hot in the gym and the instructor told her that she can buy them A/C and to shut her mouth. My daughter is 8 years old. When I confronted the instructor and the owner. The instructor had the nerve to give me attitude and did not care that she hurt my daughter's feelings. And the owner didn't care either. She just said well she has never had a complaint about her before. I got my money refunded and will never go back. I just wanted my daughter to learn and enjoy gymnastics. read more

I really love this gym. It looks to me like the parents that complain about this place are complaining about silly things. Maybe your child shouldn't be complaining out loud about the temperature, and bringing others down. Attitude is everything. And if your child doesn't like sit-ups and push-ups, maybe gymnastics training at a tough gym isn't for them. Exercise isn't a punishment, it's a REQUIREMENT if you want to be awesome!! My daughter isn't perfect, but she works out very hard at this gym, doesn't complain about the heat or the physical demands. She wants to be awesome and is willing to work for it!! Our daughter has been taking classes here for about 3 months now and we have been seeing such great improvements in her skill level compared to a previous gym we attended. They are super accommodating with letting you do a makeup class and everyone has been super friendly and helpful(teacher and front desk). As a military family, my 9 year old daughter has attended many gymnastics facilities (5 total), but this one is by FAR her favorite! We moved from San Marcos to DC area a couple of months ago and are currently having a difficult time finding a gymnastics program that my daughter is happy with because she misses Coach Bernie and Jessica and her pre team friends so much. Even though they knew we were military and not able to stay long, they still invested a lot of time into her and made her feel like she was part of the family. She wants us to move back so that she can have her coaches again. You can't find that warm and welcoming environment very often. read more

I can't say enough wonderful things about PCG!! My daughter has been on the competitive team here for a couple of months after we switched from the other local gym. Everyone has been so wonderful, welcoming and awesome! Coach Corinne is fantastic! She cares so much about the girls and that really shows in her work with them. Within days Bernie was able to correct some fundamental issues that my daughter had from bad habits which were taught to her by previous coaches. Due to Bernie's corrections my daughter was able to skip an entire level and competed a week later at a higher level and medaled in every event! The ironic part is that Bernie isn't even her coach! He's just such an amazing man who cares so much about the kids that he takes time to get to know each and every one of them, weather they are in his group or not. I'm so impressed at how organized everything is here, the gym has so much more equipment than our previous gym, a small child to coach ratio which means she gets more personal attention than our last gym and not to mention less injuries here. Lots of team building here too, pizza parties and rewards are common here to reward these hard working kids! There are no hidden fees like other places, it's reasonably priced and I'm confident that this is because Bernie and Diane are so devoted to the gym and all of these kids, they aren't looking to make a quick buck like our last place. They have been in business for decades and they know how to run this place the right away!! So happy we found PCG and the positive influence it has on my daughter is priceless.
