Usually my children are anxious about doctor appointments. Here, they aren't. The medical assistants know how to work with kids/put them at ease. There are 3 doctors so my child can always get in when they're sick. Dr. Nichols really takes her time listening and exploring options, so it doesn't bother me that we wait longer for her. Dr. Blank brought us a lot of comfort when my baby girl got really sick. Dr. Pecht always runs on time and is great with the kids. It just isn't worth taking them anywhere else. This is where all of their needs are taken care of no matter what it is. And I trust them. read more

I have been taking both my children to Coastal Pediatrics for about 5 years now. My daughter is 20 and aged out but my son still goes to Dr Nichols. Let me tell you Dr Nichols is the best pediatrician out there. My son had a medical emergency last year where we called for an appointment while at the hospital. It was late and she took it upon her to see us. The entire office was already closed. She treated his symptoms and I couldn't be more thankful. She communicates with us and follow up with emails. Whenever we are there to see her she is never rushed And always tries to pinpoint and think of all possible causes. Her kindness and dedication to her patients is truly appreciated. He is now 17 and I actually fear of finding another doctor. I hope coastal pediatric will continue seeing him as long as they can after turning 18. read more

Dr Pecht has a horrible bedside manner. Very rude and short, especially with new moms. the female Dr that also works there is worse. blatantly blowing off parents and their patients. So sad, you would think they would err on the side of caution and be more u derstand one with moms and or parents who don't know what to expect as first time parents. We went to a different practice because the service fhere from both the vta office to the oxnard office was horrible. one office didn't know what the other was doing and had given wrong appt places or appts all together. I really appreciate the level of care we get here. I can get an appointment within a week if I really need one. I am a person who wanted to do an alternative vaccine schedule for my child and they worked with me to find the right schedule but also care that we do that schedule correctly. read more

We cannot say enough great things about this great place. The physicians are outstanding and the office staff is great. The level of care and dedication to our children's health is exceptional. Dr. Nichols was my PCP for as long as I can remember. Every time I saw her, she would never fail to make me smile, and I always left feeling confident in the course of action we took collectively to be of better health or fix whatever problems. She always respected and cared about my feelings and symptoms, and always listened to what I wanted for myself. Dr. Nichols is knowledgeable and has experience that is evident in the way she provides care, which is centered around me as the patient, with the ultimate goal of health and well-being. I don't typically rate facilities but I do when it's concern for cleanliness.. The doctors don't wash their hands here specifically Dr. Pecht and go from sick child to child and only apply the smallest amount of germ x like it's the same as washing it with water and soap when there is a sink readily available. They don't change the paper sheet on the mat where they inspect the kids and there's soo many children that lay on top of it through out the day. Poor communication, rush with clients and little instructions for aftercare at home yourself. For example: I went to get my son circumsized and it went well, but the doctor gave little to no instruction on how to care for it. My sons circumcision skin got reattached on one side, I went in for them to check it and they told me I was supposed to pull it down all the way in a certain manner. I didn't know this I'm a first time mom and didn't think to do that. Sadly they do not help unvaccinated children because they are afraid the vaccinated children will get sick from the unvaccinated children. And are unable to assure you that none of the vaccines will not harm your child. The staff upfront if very helpful though in service. read more

I love Dr. Blank and Dr. Pecht but their office lacks in administrative organization and as a result, it impacts my overall trust in the medical staff. I came for an annual checkup for my 4 year old and we didn't leave the office until almost 2 hours later. Part of the reason for the wait was because they could not locate his immunization records from his prior pediatrician. Even though I signed all the medical release forms prior to scheduling my appointment, they requested I sign another one because they could not locate it. I asked if it was uploaded electronically (as I recall my other child's was retrieved electronically in my last appointment) and they said when they went into the system, my child was not found. After waiting 45 minutes I called my former pediatrician who confirmed that it was uploaded electronically and said they were viewing it as we speak. Dr. Blank's staff then said they forgot they couldn't access the system at the same time that the Ventura location was logged in which is why my son's information was pulling up as "user nor found." All this to say - if they cannot get basic administrative duties correct, how would I be able to trust them with more important things like proper billing, getting the right vaccines, proper protocol for medication, etc? Moreover when their admin team and medical assistants speak to me, it is as if they are processing out loud what they need to do and I am never quite clear on what steps they are taking versus which ones I should be taking. As a patient, we should not have to waste this much time coordinating with the office through repeated requests and ultimately, they should find a better system for filing their patient information electronically. read more

I have been taking my children here for over 10 years and have never had a bad experience. We see Dr. Heather Nichols and i absolutely LOVE her! Every concern for my children is treated as important and with the urgency. I never feel like the complaints are frivolous or unimportant and I appreciate that we never feel like she's rushed to get to the next patient. She takes her time and it feels great! My children are also teens and she always uses the end of the appointment to check in with them while I am not in the room. This is new to me and was something I wasn't quite comfortable with at first, but allows them the opportunity to talk with her without pressure from parents. We recently had an unexpected condition that felt very urgent to us and needed a 3 page medical referral to be completed. Without any pressure from us, she took it upon herself to understand how important it was to us and used her lunch the same day to complete the request... but that wasn't it. The worst doctors in Ventura county. They don't listen to the parents, my daughter had a really bad cough for two weeks with phlegms and they told me that I wasn't giving her enough water. When I was and I was doing everything they told me to do. I felt that they weren't listening to me . And they never prescribe any medicine to her. I'm extremely disappointed with their service. I would always recommend this center to friends and family. A nurse gave my one year old child vaccines in their arms today. She didn't even give me warning before administering the vaccine. My child was very upset and his arm was moving as she administered the vaccine. I was in disbelief as all nurses advise me before to help hold my child so they don't move. My child started bleeding and she didn't show any sympathy and continued to put the rest of the vaccines. I will not be taking my child here anymore as the nurses behavior is unacceptable!!! read more

I love taking my son here. We have been here a few times since we switched over and have had nothing but positive experiences. His primary doctor is on vacation and we needed to have him seen today so we opted to go with a different doctor. I like to give people chances but when it comes to a 3 year old child, I don't have much grace. The doctor we took him to , Dr. Blank ,was very uninterested from the start. Overall the visit was unpleasant and I was extremely upset at his way of handling my son. I will not go into detail but if you happen to take your child to this clinic, please avoid taking them to Dr. Blank. I will continue going here with my son's primary doctor but will make sure to never take him with Dr. Blank again. My son cried the whole way home and kept saying Dr. Blank was "mad". read more

Coastal Pediatrics in Oxnard WAS the "the place to go" more than 15 years ago! There is that one doctor still practicing that WAS a caring and delivered effective and sensitive care -- He doesn't any more. When called to schedule the appointment, I felt confident that they still were the caring people especially in this COVID times, it was very comforting when I was told to wait in the parking lot and call for instructions. We arrive and was told to go ahead and come up. Upon arriving to the building observed both dental offices on the first and third floor with a table and an employee ready to screen patients so immediately felt reassured that the SAME or at the least a similar screening process at Coastal pediatrics in Oxnard -- but there was NONE other than the typical signs or generic messages you would see at a grocery store! When we entered the office we were told to go to room ???....The front office lady didn't even take the time to make sure that I heard her given that the pixie glass and her "thankfully" wearing a mask muffled her words so I could not hear her and had to wait to get her attention to ask her to repeat what room to go to. The good thing is that we were the only ones in the waiting room--- good for them. Finally we get to the room and the lady that comes in the room asks the typical questions and does not take temperature or does any other COVID related screenings. My teen daughter is given a gown and told to remove her clothes, put the gown and she walks out. Of course this is my daughter's first experience in being asked to do this! Of course I'm explaining; we're left in the room to wait for the doctor And continue reassuring her that it'll be ok and this is routine and that I'm there with her. So we are there waiting for the doctor which my last experience with him was positive so expected the same. Initially, he was courteous but once I started addressing concerns, he got impatient and was no help. He was told about my daughter's uneasiness about being in a gown in the hopes that he would be extra patient, understanding and courteous towards her but he wasn't. Instead he became more irritated when we declined a couple of "optional" vaccines and even went as far as offering the flu vaccine to me and quickly pointing out that it's just $40 dollar. Very uncomfortable visit! It was also hard to ignore the overflowing trash can and dirty examining room. Will not go back here. read more

We have been going to coastal Pediatrics since my 23 yr old was born, so we switched our older daughter (3 at the time) now 26 and our 15 yr old is now a patient. Dr Fong was my 23 yr old initial pediatrician at birth. She had medical concerns and he quickly sent her to UCLA for evaluation. We have had the pleasure of seeing all the drs at some point and of course no disappointments over the years. Dr Blank is my daughter (15) primary now but when it comes to female concerns (what she calls it) she prefers one of the female drs. No problems with referrals/authorizations, immunizations, appointments, call backs, emergency calls. My 23 and 26 yr olds miss them and haven't found medical care to match the service and care they received. They listen to parents concerns. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this office and that staff that work there. Dr. Blank was the MD who had rounds at the hospital the day my son was born. I was recovering from a c-section hours prior and couldn't get up. As Dr. Blank was examining our new bundle of joy, he needed his diaper changed. Dr. Blank changed him for me!! I knew there, in that moment, that we had found a great doctor! I remember sharing that story with one of my nurses and she said most doctors don't usually do that and that we were lucky to find a doctor like him. I'm the coming months my son would end up in and out of Coastal Pediatrics and the hospital and Dr. Blank was there every step of the way - from fevers to ear infections, RSV and everything in between. We are SO thankful to have found such an amazing Pediatrician. We've also had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Pecht and Dr. Nichols as well and they too, are great doctors. NP Driscoll took one of our after hours calls and was super informative. She even contacted me the next day just to check in on my son! The office staff - nurses, medical assistants, front and back office they all truly care about their patients and are all amazing. There were times we were in their office weekly and never once did they make me feel like I was crazy for being there so often - they know I just want what's best for my son and being a first time mom, that is so comforting. Their after hours inquiries are always addressed and promptly if I might add! You leave a message and you're called back - no matter what time, no matter what question. Even during normal business hours you're contacted back when leaving messages. Sometimes the doctors are the ones returning the messages and I think that right there says it all. Every time I've called for a same day appt, they've been able to get us in. This office truly cares about their patients. We love you guys! Thanks for taking such great care of my son. Dr Pecht and all of the staff at Coastal Pediatric are amazing! They are so kind and helpful and have gone above and beyond for us when our son is only 3 months old. They've helped us with formula samples on more than one occasion and have answered questions over the phone without requiring a visit each time something came up. Dr Pecht doesn't push medicine right away and wants to try other approaches first and that is so important to me. Thank you all for making the Dr. visits so easy and wonderful! We have been going to Coastal Pediatrics in Ventura for over ten years now and absolutely love the doctors, nurses and office staff there. The doctors are great with my three kids and have helped us with a variety of illnesses and injuries over the years. We mostly see Dr. Pecht and Dr. Blank - their bedside manor and attentiveness to the kids are wonderful. The nurses always return our calls promptly when we have medical questions, and the doctors are quick and responsive when we have had to reach out the on-call doctor on the weekends. I am writing this review while I am filling out my insurance claims because the medical group "doesn't do it". I have had 2 experiences so far with this medical group, both of which were not very comforting. We read the great reviews of the medical group so we wanted to give it a shot with our first son. Visit one: Came in filled out the paperwork and sat in the waiting room for 80 mins. Then we were brought into another room and waited there for additional 40 mins. It was over an hour and a half for the doctor to see us. Too long for an appointment. Visit two: Came in, refilled out all previous paperwork because the nurses seemed to have misplaced it. Waited again for 45 mins to be escorted to a room, then additional 20 mins waiting for the nurse. Waiting over an hour for 2 appointments got on my nerves a little. Fast forward to today. The medical group, forces its patients to file their own insurance claims even though there was at least 5 nurses in the office at any given time talking about such things as "What they wanted to do in Camarillo that week, what shoes was working best for their "heavy" work load. TL:DR Great doctor, horrible office. Too busy for it's own good, makes patient do their legwork for them. read more

I interviewed with Dr. Nichols - liked her professionalim immediately. When our baby girl was born July 2018 we started going here (been almost a month at the time of this review). Nichols was on vacation at that time so we saw Dr. Blanks twice and Dr. Pecht for follow-ups. I have to say that I could not decide who of the two is more friendly and personable - both handled our little bundle with so much care. You can tell they love their job. They were super patient with us new parents and answered all our questions with detail. I love that the practice always saves open spots for emergencies or "walk-ins". And they really took good care of us and ensured we are well informed on all things baby. All the staff is friendly and professional and they accomodate you without any hesitation if you have questions or need to reschedule. Given we talked to three different doctors from this practice I can also say that they all seem to agree on their fundamentals (vaccination, breastfeeding, supplements for baby) which I like. The practice overall seems to be a very positive and productive work atmosphere and we never had to wait very long. read more

We have been seeing Dr. Pecht at Coastal for both of our children (6 & 10) since my daughter was 8 weeks old. The staff has always been delightful to deal with. My kids have felt very comfortable with Dr. Pecht or any of the other physicians. While our kids are for the most part healthy when we have needed help on a more complicated issue Dr. Pecht has always been great about understanding and helping guide us through the process of getting to a diagnosis. Scheduling appointments has always been a breeze and we've used both the Ventura and Oxnard locations. My kids like that they can borrow a book from the office and bring it back on their next visit. This is a great thing to offer and better than a silly plastic toy or sticker that they'll be bored with before the car ride home. I definitely recommend Coastal Peds! read more

My three kids have been patients of Coastal Pediatrics for 4 years now, and I can't even say enough great things about them. Dr. Blank has been absolutely wonderful and caring, providing the best care for all of my children; one of my children, in particular, is very special needs and he has been INSTRUMENTAL to her healthcare team. Referrals and authorizations are always processed quickly and efficiently with no issues, all the staff members I have met (which is probably all of them at this point LOL) are super nice, scheduling is a breeze, and they always fit me in very last minute if I need. On-Call services are great too; I always receive very quick call back from the doctors or nurses. We have been with Coastal Pediatrics for 10 years now and we have received excellent care. I have one child on a regular RX and we are able to call and get the refilled without any issues. Anytime we have questions or forms that need to be filled out it is done in a timely manner. My children love coming to the Dr. because of how wonderful all the staff are and how personable the Doctors are, especially Dr. Pecht, whom we see most regularly. Dr. Pecht has been our family pediatrician since my youngest was born (our children are now 6 1/2 and 4 1/2). He is very professional, courteous and provides great medical advice and healthcare. When our children are sick, we have no trouble making same day appointments to see a doctor and have had appointments with all staff members (Drs. Blank, Nichols, Fostakowsky and Judy Driscoll) and have always felt their medical attention towards our children and diagnosis is both sound and accurate. As a full time working mother, I appreciate they can always accommodate immediate needs and offer appointments in both their Ventura and Oxnard locations. Called ventura office and never recieved call back. called oxnard, told them im very concerned. spoke to marissa. Explained emergency. 5 yr old son bit on stomach by spider. Has red line traveling up stomach towards his heart. She said they couldn't see Dr. Blank until 11:30. I said I need to have him seem now. She said they couldn't. I said I would take to ER. She said we would need a referral to go and as long as they have availability in the office they won't approve referral to ER. Again explained I am concerned for my sons life. After arriving at ER I called them back to ensure they cancelled the 11:30 appt as a courtesy to them. Marissa again answered and sounded annoyed that I went to ER anyway. I explained emergencys can't wait for an appt. 5 minutes later she called me back to tell me that when the ins. Co. Calls them for the authorization she said they will deny treatment authorization. Not only do they put patients life T risk by telling people not to go to ER in an emergency but during this stressful emotional time they call you to harass you and make you feel stupid for going to emergency room instead of waiting two hours for an appt. marrisa said she has never heard of the issue i was describing about the spider bite so she didnt feel it was an emergency and since i couldnt provide the actual spider for proof she didnt believe me. why can a medical asst with no medical crudentials make a medical decision of emergency vs not urgent? This is very dangerous medical practice. read more
