I was recovering from a c-section hours prior and couldn't get up. As Dr. Blank was examining our new bundle of joy, he needed his diaper changed. Dr. Blank changed him for me!! I knew there, in that moment that we had found a great doctor! I remember sharing that story with one of my nurses and she said most doctors don't so that and that we were lucky to find a doctor like him. I'm the coming months my son would end up in and out of Coastal Pediatrics and the hospital and Dr. Blank was there every step of the way - from fevers to ear infections, RSV and everything in between. We are SO thankful to have found such an amazing Pediatrician. We've also had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Pecht and Dr. Nichols as well and they too, are great doctors. NP Driscoll took one of our after hours calls and was super informative. She even contacted me the next day just to check in on my son! The office staff - nurses, medical assistants, front and back office they all truly care about their patients and are all amazing. There were times we were in their office weekly and never once did they make me feel like I was crazy for being there so often - they know I just want what's best for my son and being a first time mom, that is so comforting. Their after hours inquiries are always addressed and promptly if I might add! You leave a message and you're called back - no matter what time, no matter what question. Even during normal business hours you're contacted back when leaving messages. Sometimes the doctors are the ones returning the messages and I think that right there says it all. I confronted the receptionist and said last week you told me you were accepting new patients, what has changed? She says that they do not accept new patients that need autism screenings. Billing dept mgr and scribe says my spouse has low back pain. He takes an occasional Advil after riding over 40 miles on his bicycle and up in the mountains at 76 yr old. Dr Williams asked me if I took calcium/D3. I have NEVER been D3 deficient and started taking calcium with D3 in it in when 50 years old as Dexa scan said a bit of osteopenia which has changed little in 25 years. We simply answered Dr Williams questions and I asked her to check my husband's hearing. The scribe and Billing Mgr will write in anything they can (true or not) to charge you extra! It was all routine exam, eyes, ear, throat heart, lung, and breast exam for me. No internal exams. We will be changing doctors asap and refuse to pay extra fees for routine exams and to answer questions. We are healthy, exercise, eat right, and NOT overweight. We reported them to Aetna FRAUD dept! I notified Dr Williams. She will be retiring in 2 years she told me. AVOID THIS GROUP with offices located in Ventura and Oxnard. This is the first time they started UPCHARGING despite going there for several years for our physicals/wellness visit!

When I got my new insurance I had to choose a new doctor and Dr. Alcocer with the Spanish Hills Medical group was recommended by my wife's doctor. I was a little worried when I called in mid January to make an appointment and they had to schedule me in mid February. They explained later on that one of the doctors in the group had just retired and that the other doctors had to make up for all those extra patients. They gave me a call the day before to confirm my appointment and told me to come in a few minutes early to fill out paperwork. I arrived 15 minutes early, filled out a stack of paperwork and then waited to be called. They called me in about 5 minutes later. Woah. 5 minutes...that's awesome. I had an awesome nurse who took all my vitals and got me ready for my appointment and then about 5 minutes later I was visited by Dr. Alcocer. He had an amazing demeanor. He seemed like he was not in a rush at all...he acted like he wanted to know everything about me and what he could do to help me with my regular issues like my asthma. He gave me all the prescriptions that I needed with 6 months of refills so I didn't have to worry about waiting for my pharmacy to call in for authorization. That was such a relief from my previous doctor. All in all the whole appointment took maybe 20 minutes, 30 minutes tops. I was completely impressed with the whole experience and I look forward to having the Spanish Hills Medical Group and Dr. Alcocer on my side when it comes to my health. :0)

Alexis Murray is the BEST. She is very attentive, lets you fully explain yourself & your concerns, speaks to you so respectfully, doesn't gaslight you & tries to see things your way so that she can better understand you, & she respects your personal beliefs, & does not come off judgmental nor does she make you feel stupid. Lately we have been going to see Alexis Murray for my son almost once monthly. She is always so patient and detailed with us. She explains herself very well & lets us as parents feel safe enough to ask her many questions & figure out how to go about things in regard to my son's health. She also is so reassuring and makes us feel safe!!! She is a gem there. Astrid is a medical assistant there at Primary Medical and she was also very attentive with son. She made him feel very comfortable and made him laugh. When you have little kids all the little things matter & when they take the extra steps to make sure your child is comfortable it puts us as parents at ease. I, myself have also been seen by Alexis Murray & can attest to a great bedside manner. All in all, I am super happy that my whole family goes to Primary Medical in Oxnard.
