After switching from another lawn service to Coastal Turf, we had high hopes for a lush, beautiful yard, but the opposite happened. Despite two years of treatments and a lot of money spent, our lawn has never looked worse. Most recently, after three applications within six weeks, it's still full of weeds, and they just couldn't get it under control. Ironically, ours is one of only two professionally treated lawns in the neighborhood (the other lawn is not treated by CT) and ours looks by far the worst. When we brought this to their attention, they blamed it on environmental factors. I'm sorry, but we hired you to work around the environmental factors--that's your business. For reference, what you see in the photos is all over our lawn. We've since fired Coastal Turf and decided to take care of it ourselves. Honestly, it can't get any worse. read more

This company is a scam. We have paid so much money to get our lawn treated and they skip over parts of the lawn. Last time they came out they only treated the side of our yard. I am very disappointed with Coastal Turf. I explained my turf concerns and they provided me with a program. I agreed to most of the program. I asked them to notify me when they would be treating my lawn so I could talk to them about my concerns. They said they can't tell me when they will be in the area. So they treated my lawn the first time without my communication with them. Now 7 weeks later. No service. No communication. In the most important part of the summer growing season. I called the off to ask why I have not received any service, and they said in the summer, we treat ever 5-6 weeks. Well week 7 has come and gone. I asked for the representative to reach out to me. And of course, no communication. This company preaches customer service and no service contract. I am starting to realize it is just a bait and switch outfit. Previously I was using a national lawn care service that uses the color green in their logo and after numerous attempts for them to correct my lawn issues, all without success, I fired them. I was at the Charleston Home & Garden Expo and I asked a sod vender for a reference for lawn care. He recommended Coastal Turf. I set up service with them four years ago. CoastalTurf has been very responsive to my needs. I use their lawn and shrub service and they have been very consistent in showing up on schedule for the applications. When I have a question, their customer service representative has always been very helpful. When weeds show up in the yard, they will send a serviceman to view the yard and take the necessary steps to solve the problem. On some occasions the owner has come to my house to see the weed issue and discussed the recommended course of action. Previous homeowners made several attempts to grow grass in my front yard with no luck. We consulted several sod companies and went with Ross at Coastal Turf to not only install the sod but to also do the pest/weed control. They did the install in April 2019 but I didn't rush a review based on the installation (which they did a great job with). Keeping the grass (based on prior homeowner attempts) was going be the big test. I have to say, I am very pleased with Coastal Turf all the way around. My grass came back nicely after winter and looks amazing. Anytime I have a concern I just call the office and they send someone out to address my concern. A couple months after the installation we received yard of the month. We are still getting compliments on our yard. Everyone I have spoken to has been knowledgeable and professional. My husband and I hired Coastal Turf to try and help with the weeds in our yards. After months of treatments for weeds, moles and even having a supervisor come out and look at our yard at our request, because it was worse than ever. I have been trying for months now to get someone to take my request for an estimate or at least come out and say yes or no to working for me. On May 23, 2016, finally someone came out and did a soil sample for me. On 7/12/16, I received a message with the report showing that the soil was fine. I replied that we would like to have someone come out and see what could be done and give us an estimate. The answer was that a Technician would be out. Approximately 2 weeks ago the Technician came out and said he would have to send out his manager. Today is 9/7/16 and we have heard nothing from them. If they continue to treat prospective clients in this manner, their business will definitely suffer. read more

Very few lawn care services do more than simply dump chemicals on the lawn and make sure they have your credit card on file. Not so with Coastal Turf. They came out, walked the lot, took soil samples and described what was needed to get the lawn in our new home to look better, thicker and be free of weeds. They offered several suggestions as to courses of treatment and when's and why's as to applications and the frequency of their being applied. No rush to sign a contract...in fact, no contract. No effort to get our credit card on the first visit...as had happened with other national turf management firms. These are plain honest people. They tell you up front what is needed, the cost and approximately how long it will take to see results. Which, in our case, will be 2 yrs thanks to a builder who put down essentially dead sod in a rush to get the house ready for settlement. I can't say enough good things about Coastal Turf...the builder, however, not so much! read more
