We hired them to build a walkway, patio and fire pit in the backyard. My initial frustration were the delays to start the project. We were told at the beginning of April 2021 that they were about 10 weeks out from being able to start. That 10 weeks turned into 20 weeks by the time they began the project. They were responsive and communicative the whole time. As a business owner and part of a family that works in construction I am very forgiving when the backlog gets away from you due to weather and extended jobs. No harm, no foul. We were just excited to get the backyard completed. This review is in no way a reflection of their skill or confidence in their ability to do an amazing job. However, the walkway required a step [1] to be placed going from my porch down to the walkway where there is a slight slope. When they finished the project this was the only part of the entire thing that seemed to be an afterthought. And sure enough, the step fell apart a day after they left. Nathaniel immediately responded and offered a better solution. We purchased a bluestone tread at their recommendation (an additional $275) and they came back to install it a few days later. After this was done we immediately realized that the step was still not finished. Even with the new tread the step still felt like an afterthought to what is otherwise a very beautiful and amazing job. The step slopes and overhangs way too much with my 4 kids running around. I communicated this immediately and we came up with the best solution after another visit by Nathaniel. At this point in the process we are happy that E-Scapes is responsive and working with us to make sure we are 100% satisfied. We have a plan to make this all that it should be and I was told they would stop by at the end of a work day and knock it out. (This was on September 1, 2021) Fast forward 6 weeks (October 14, 2021)- I texted to ask when they would be coming by to get this step completed. Mark immediately texted back that they've had some delays but we are on the schedule, they'll let us know when to expect them.That was the last communication we had. They have not responded to texts, emails or questions since. What a disappointment! Especially after being told over and over that they guarantee their work 100% and we all agreed that the job was not yet complete because of the less than satisfactory installation of 1 step. This should be a simple, quick fix that would probably take less than an hour to make us happy and post a 5 star review. I really like these guys, we enjoyed the time we have spent with them. But, at this point I cannot recommend E-Scapes to my friends and neighbors (though several people have asked). I am very doubtful of their guarantee for the work done since I cannot even get a response.

He answered all my questions and concerns with understanding and professionalism. Every day Micheal and his staff showed up ready to work and they worked with care for my property as if it was their home. I love my patio so much that I'm trying to find additional areas to improve on because I know that even if I don't know exactly how to execute it Micheal will translate my idea into perfection.

Michael the owner of Spartina starts off his scam the same. Very nice, tells you all of the great…read morethings he will do. Very nonchalant and no problem, can do that attitude. Once hired is where things shift. He claimed to be a mason, which is a complete lie or he would know how to install patio pavers. I hired him to build a Pergola and install a paver patio. He completely destroyed our pergola and patio installation. The Patio is wavy, uneven, sinking in spots, missing correct paver cuts you name it. He put edging pavers all throughout our cobblestone patio. Chipped bricks, didn't even attempt to cut the edging pavers to fit snug leaving up to 2 inch gaps. The pergola is no different. Miss cuts, doesn't know how to measure or use a measuring tape. Every single beam is miss cut and has chunks of wood filled in them to hide this. Complete disaster and should be completely replaced. He completely destroyed the pergola and used the cheapest of wood that is already splitting everywhere. When he pretended to be finished with the project he demanded final payment and said job is complete. Full disclosure I never paid the last payment because he did a horrible job and would not correct all of the issues. Sorry dude, never will pay you for this horrible job. I initially spent almost 8k and he wanted more. I'm currently suing him in small claims court and will prevail. Problem is, he has nothing to get. It's simply about principle. I'll get nothing but hopefully his business will be shut down and he learns a lesson of don't rip people off. Please, Please look at pictures on here and Google. Do not hire him Or you will get burnt. Im more than happy to show anyone who wants to look at his work what to expect. Believe this review and the other bad reviews must be real. He's a little pretender who will not stand by his work. Lastly, as other's have mentioned he has no insurance. If he did he would have sent it to me.
