I joined mainly for the hot tub, which has been closed with no solution for much of that time. While here, I was recruited by multiple staff to work here. When I applied, simply to help with pool closures and not because I needed a job, I never heard back. I didn't really use my membership over the summer, and returned to find a hot tub that was still closed and a basketball court that is half closed, with a very slow timeline for repair. Also, the basketball court area has no air flow and is dangerous for use. Have had issues with staff and their lack of communication the whole time. When I raised my concerns and cited my reasons for canceling my membership, their coo sent an email before having his first cup of coffee in the morning, or so it seemed, showing zero effort to resolve issues. I wish them the best and hope they find experienced and skilled staff that can lead them in the right direction. I won't be back and don't recommend it, but you can check it out. Value wise, it is significantly more expensive than other options in the area, especially with so many of their amenities out of commission. It is probably also worth mentioning that I sponsored their March Madness Pizza Party and Mini Golf/Ice Cream field trip.

My two pet peeves about this Y; the equipment is pretty dated and seems to be geared mainly to men and the female lifeguard. Almost every time I got to swim she barks at me for something. Like, before I have a chance to set my towel down she's yelling at me to rinse off. She makes my most mellow part of the day really uptight. Otherwise, quite a lovely establishment especially for Midcoast Maine.

One of the wonderful things since the former BNAS was decommissioned by the Navy is that much of the infrastructure is now available to the residents of Brunswick, where I now live. This includes places like this. While not fancy or particularly high-tech as fitness facilities go, there is a gym for basketball, a small fitness room with treadmills, free weights, and other cardio equipment. There are also a host of classes ranging from yoga, pilates, barre classes, etc. I've done some of their beginner's yoga classes and they're great! What I like about the Landing as the days get colder and I'm not going to get out on my bike or run outside, is that I can drop by (it's 3 miles from my house) and find a treadmill available in the morning or early afternoon. After spending the morning looking at a computer screen, I'm due for a dose of endorphins. Oh, and the staff here are just amazingly friendly and welcoming. After a recent experience with another fitness facility on the other side of town that made me feel like I was imposing on their little clique of insiders, this is refreshing and how I want to have my doses of fitness administered--with a smile and a friendly greeting. Is that so hard to do?

We have the family plan so there is also childcare on sight for during your workout session. I'm beyond impressed with Lydia that works with the kiddos. The Zumba classes are so fun and I feel like I can stumble through the steps with no judgment. Instructors are wonderful, have great energy, and are always there to help. So thankful for the YMCA in this area. It was just what this family needed to stay active, healthy, and happy.

I love this gym for what it is, a community based organization that provides many services to…read morelocals and summer residents. I don't expect it to have lots of amenities as it's a YMCA. But 1. To discuss is the view. I don't know of any other gyms anywhere that you can be on the treadmill and look at a harbor and boats moving in and out. It makes your workout so much more motivating and relaxed! You can also see the Rockland breakwater. Other things to love: -it's not crowded. At all. There are several elderly people who come in each morning to also workout and they give me such motivation also. The Rockport YMCA is a bit more of a scene and mostly younger people (under 40-50, my scale is high because it's Maine!). -it never smells like a gym. Not sure how they do that. -easy parking and very easy to walk to downtown Rockland from the y Cons -not as many classes as the Rockport YMCA. However, this means that the classroom space is usually available if you want a quiet place to do weights. To sum up, if I am doing my own workout, I go to the Rockland YMCA. If I want to do classes, I go to the Rockport YMCA. The Rockland y is such a gem and I'm so thankful it's in our community.

She is mostly non-verbal but has plenty of smiles and high fives for her friends & staff at the center. Loves going out for snacks (who wouldn't?) & even shopping for them, which is NOT a favorite most of the time @ home. Interesting activities and field trips which are usually in the local community but some are further. She LOVES to ride and gets plenty of that daily! Great community resource for our adults with special needs. The staff are WONDERFUL and most appear to love their jobs. Very important in this field.

It was an amazing night and over $42,000 was given to Make a Wish to Grant local children with life-threatening illnesses a wish of their choice. This event is held every year about the same time. The Brewer Kiwanis group offers a fun night with a silent auction, candy buffet and dancing.
