Great local park on the city's edge and Brighton. They say there's over 100 acres here, it's a good size with some great views of the city skyline. This place can get busy especially in the summer months, lots of hiking, playground, basketball and tennis courts. Over the years I've played in some adult softball leagues. Lots of fun . Parking can sometimes be chaotic, there's a few smaller lots along the street. Family friendly park with a few lodges to rent. They have a few events and festivals held here too. read more

Cobbs Hill is a fabulous park- part of the reason for the low stars is our frustration in the basketball court. They recently resurfaced the whole area but there are no lights for it to be used as the day gets shorter. The tennis courts however have lighting... We would like to ask the park/city to consider lighting the basketball courts as they light the tennis courts to provide more equity and access for all. read more

Anyone who is new to Rochester or a visitor I always take them here. This is park has by far the best view of the Rochester city Skyline. The park itself is beautiful as well with the Rochester reservoir located right in the middle on the top with the view and a curved lighted road up to the top. There are trails and walking paths to walk and run and enjoy the beautiful park. Apart from the top of the park the bottom of the park is your normal park with tennis courts and soccer fields and everything else a park has. It is located on the city's edge and Brighton so a great easy location to get to. It is named cobbs HILL for a reason- it's a serious hill which makes it a great park to hike and exercise in the summer days and an even better park in the winter for sledding. If you are new to Rochester or a Rochester native definitely always a nice place to scope out and visit. read more

What's not to love about Cobb's Hill? Beautiful views, family friendly, well-kept, and a great place to do some serious calorie burning. I used to live within walking distance, and would frequently go for runs around the reservoir or painstakingly run up and down the dreaded hill & stairs that lead up to the reservoir. If you're looking for an intense workout with a gorgeous view (and maybe even...dogs?!) I highly recommend giving Cobbs Hill a go. I wish there was a bit more organization in terms of things to do at Cobbs Hill in the winter months. While I am sure there is ample opportunity to snow shoe or even sled down that hill, there isn't anything in terms of equipment rental or organized outings. There are two entrances into the park and both entrances offer different opportunities for recreation. On the Culver entrance, there's restrooms, a lodge, more green space, "lake" Riley, and tennis. The Highland entrance brings you up to the reservoir and frisbee areas. I kind of see them as two separate parks since my reason for heading over to either is usually kind of different. I've hosted an event in the Tay House Lodge, which has an entrance off of Hillside Ave, is nestled behind a school, and is notoriously hard to find. The lodge itself though is wonderful. Equipped with everything you need to host an outdoor/picnic style party (including a grill) it was a great spot for the students I was hosting to play catch, unwind, and relax. Overall, if you haven't gotten around to seeing the park, I would highly recommend carving out ~90 minutes to walk around and see the sights. read more

With the arrival of spring, yet no abatement of COVID forseeable for another couple of months, I'm turning to a safe outdoor activity: taking walks. This park isn't too far from me, but I don't know if I'll make it a regular haunt. I thought it was a bit crowded, especially the parking lots (there ARE free parking lots, fwiw), and there weren't any walking paths I could see. Possibly would be good if you have some hours to lay out and read. There were nice trees. read more

This is one of the most unique and interesting Parks in Rochester with lots to see and one of the best views of the Rochester skyline around. I especially love the trails and the public art displays on the water towers in the center of the park. The trails here aren't necessarily easy, and it's a workout going up these hills. But I love that there is a city park with such diverse landscape and beautiful forest to enjoy it's really a treasure. This is a good place to bring friends of your doggo's for a lovely walk with lots to enjoy. On the one side of the park there is a lake with some shelters and restrooms. Ok I thought I wrote a review.. oh well here it is... I've been on the green space across from the Armory for Yoga classes a few summers ago and it was lovely. So this time after driving around up the winding road to the reservoir and this time we finally parked the car and went over to the bluff/lookout point. There are benches to sit on the view is lovely and if it's a clear day basically you can see all the way out to Bristol. Here's the rub.. what I don't understand is they have no fencing or some barrier as if you walk to far over you will take a seriously nasty tumble or worse. Yes they have signs but they are small and are tagged with gang symbols sorry it's true. The view is lovely, lots of places to discover and sit or walk around the reservoir to get your steps in.. as you walk or drive around you come up to that building where after you walk, run, jog up that hill from the Monroe Street side and get to that building and most people do the Rocky dance of accomplishment which you should if you can do that. Hats off to you.. it's a hidden gem and I'm glad at least this time we got out of the car up here and explored this upper area. This park is really nice. The reservoir being the best part in my book as it is great for walking laps, and seeing great views of the surrounding area's especially the city of Rochester. It's centrally located so easy to get to. Also it's fun to people watch as there are roller blader's, dog walkers, people flying kites, just very nice, relaxing and fun to see. read more

There are lots of guys with Corn Rows at this park. That's why the local name for it is "Corn On The Cobbs Hill Park." Or not, but I'm not sure why not. I was just in Cobbs Hill Park for the first time about 3 weeks ago. I guess you could say I fell in love with it. I've driven past it so many times, but this was the first time I wandered around. In the rain, no less. It's paradisical. It's in the best neighborhood and I can't be sure but I think I like it even more than Buffalo's Delaware Park. Rochester is an unusual town, because you can go from a kind-of-run-down area with lots of dive bars and sloppy food spots and college nightlife, to leafy secluded suburbs within a few minutes. This is especially true with Monroe Ave. If you head south from Monroe, you're in leafy suburbs before you can say "I just puked up my Garbage Plate." However if you head South East along Monroe, something even better happens. You come upon Cobbs Hill Park. Not literally come, but I mean, that too if you wanted. Although you might get arrested for that. Especially if you did it all over someone's corn rows. Anyway, it's a lovely, leafy, beautiful, suburban park, very close to the actual city, a total oasis on the East Side of Rochester. I love it. It's a lot cleaner and greener than you'd expect. It's a very well-maintained park. It may be my favourite park in Rochester. The water in the middle of it is particularly special. And if you get mugged in here and hit over the head, then it can be renamed Clobbered Hill Park in your honour. read more

Has the nicest view of downtown, and so many different little spots to explore. You can walk around the reservoir, go down into a park, play tennis, theres a little area with more woods for a picnic, and then the scenic view. Lots of dogs, joggers, and happy people. Every morning I wake up, walk into my living room and gaze at the beauty that is Cobbs Hill Park. I have a perfect view from my apartment windows. No matter what time of year it brightens my day. I've spent several summer evenings grilling, frisbee-ing, and feeding the ducks by the pond. It's gorgeous over there - perfect for a little picnic. Once the weather is nice I make my way to the tennis courts. They're usually not too busy, often one or two courts open when we walk up so it's rare to wait for one to open up. Walks and runs around the reservoir are relaxing and you get a full view of our tiny city. The reservoir area, to the west (if I have my directions right), is a perfect viewing spot for the city's 4th of July fireworks. You can even catch glimpses of the neighboring towns firework shows before the big one starts. The only downside is that it can get a little sketchy by the pond. People hanging in their cars, sipping mysterious beverages from brown paper bags, but they're harmless. I've never seen anything truly shady take place. Despite that, I love it here and cherish it as my neighborhood park. read more

There was certainly a little something for everyone at this park. It is definitely more of a manufactured park, instead of a park to go for if you want a nature walk. That's not always a bad thing though. The hike up the hill and steps to the reservoir was a bit of a challenge. But if I could get up there, almost anyone looking for a place to go walking should be able to too. I was actually surprised at how much activity there was for an early Saturday morning. The fountain in the reservoir is pretty. The architecture of some of the old structures was pretty. There were also tennis courts, softball fields, basketball courts. It was so clean. I don't think I saw a single piece of litter or garbage anywhere. Parking was fairly easy to access. There are plenty of nice breakfast or brunch places nearby if you are looking for a place to go after your visit. read more

Great outdoor space for many activities. Enjoy by yourself, with friends, or bring a date. Things I've done there include picnics, walking/jogging around the reservoir, sitting out on the hill to enjoy the view, and taking photos! My dance company got some great shots here. read more

Simply a great place to spend some time outdoors. My mom and I have been walking up here for years. There is a nice walkway around the reservoir or you can walk on the road for a more vigorous workout. At Cobbs Hill you will see people waking, jogging, rollerblading, biking, and even sledding in the winter. I've noticed that the later in the day the more crowded it becomes. So definitely come earlier in the morning if you want a quiet peaceful place for your walk, jog, bike ride, etc. No matter what time of day you come, you will get a great view of downtown Rochester! read more

This review is for the softball fields/leagues. Cobbs Hill softball used to be arguably the best in the area. The leagues were competitive and the fields were very well maintained. The league now struggles to have enough teams, mainly because of price. The location is still one of the most convenient but the outfields are not well maintained. There are lots of holes that are injuries waiting to happen. The park is still a good facility overall but the sports need to be improved and they need to start using the internet. read more

Hands down this is one of my favorite spots in Rochester!! This park pretty much has it all with tennis (with lights) and basketball courts, baseball diamonds and plenty of green space! If you enter the upper part of the park by Highland Drive you'll be treated to a totally different feel. There is a rather large water reservoir(sorry no swimming) that has a walking/running path around it that measures .75 miles. On the far side of the water reservoir there is a clearing and it offers the best view of downtown and perfect sunsets. I've made my way here just to see the sun set or to chill out and read a book. There is also a steep-ish hill that offers a great place to bathe in the sun, run/bike up if you are adventurous, catch up on reading or even for a picnic. Cobb's Hill usually isn't too crowded, probably because of it's massiveness but its a great place to send the afternoon or day outside in Rochester! read more

I love that we found this park! The Fitness Court is fantastic! A nice short jog from our Air BnB. For the kids/tweens, they have a playground and obstacle course, plus the basketball courts and baseball field. With Covid there are even hand sanitizer stations. read more

There's really nothing wrong with this park. I like the path around the reservoir, and the great view of the Rochester city. There are hills with stairs to climb/jog, and lots of trees near the base of the hill. The softball/baseball fields are in decent shape. A few minor repairs could be made. The tennis courts are great. You can normally see people playing when you drive by. If you want a more vigorous workout than a jog around the perimeter of the reservoir, you can take a nice hilly jog through the forest off of the Monroe side of the park. The park is near a highway, and two major roads, so it's not quite and serene like some places, but it's alright. This is one of my favorite parks in Rochester, so come and enjoy the views and trails! read more

One of the best views of the city. Has some nice trails that you can explore, and in the summer is definitely a nice loop to walk or run around. Area is well maintained and the people that frequent the spot are generally pretty friendly but will leave you to yourself if you're just enjoying a book and the view. read more

There is so much life there all the time. There are always walkers/runners circling the reservoir, people playing tennis, flag football, dodgeball, ultimate frisbee. You can sled there. Kids play on swing sets. People put motorized toy sail boats in the pond. Running groups convene there. Dog walkers and trail runners enjoy the trails through the wooded areas. In the late spring lilacs bloom there. Also, from the top of the hill you can get a great view of downtown. read more
