My Aunt & Uncle recommended this playground in Webster Park while we were in town visiting. I saw a sign saying that this playground was dedicated to a little boy named Jack who passed away in 2016 at the age of 3. (So sad) Jack's Place is such an awesome playground! The recommended age range is 5-12. There are so many neat aspects of it including some unique spinning "rides", numerous slides, swings, lots of places to climb and a rubberized digging zone. There are a few benches around for the adults. Our kiddos had so much fun here! Highly recommend! read more

There's another Jack's Place playground in Webster Park at the corner of Holt and Lake Rd. The playground is really nice. It looks new and is in a great location near the lake on warm days. Plenty of field and a couple of picnic tables. I don't recommend eating there based on our experience yesterday. We were invaded by what looked like fruit flies times 1,000. It literally rained bugs on us at the picnic table within one minute of sitting down so we booked it out of there and ate down the street another playground before returning. There are a few different activities for the kids, some the same as the location in Penfield such as the sand pit (here it's rubber), the big standup spinner, and the signature dinosaurs. Plenty to keep the kids happy. My kids loved it here! read more

Lovely area to frolic with your dog, bring kids to the playground, have a picnic and walk up to Lake Ontario! We came here on a whim while driving around but will be back to explore more. Only downside was that someone had their very aggressive and mean dog roaming without its owner so that was a bit scary. read more

We enjoyed the beautiful sunset overlooking Lake Ontario. The views were just magnificent. We also took a nice walk onto the pier. A great grassy hill for sitting. Parking is free. read more

Oh Webster Park your beauty is so profound, serene and calming, you seem to ignore Ontario as she litters your shores with driftwood while bait fish dart in between your rock laced jetty. Your meadows are rich with buttercups that flow towards the banks of your babbling brooks. At dusk the winds whistle through your pines that line the trodden trails that are filled by day turning eerie as the darkness chases the light. Your empty swings sway long after the children's laughter fades with the day. Your lone light blinks like a nocturnal creature guarding your shore illuminating the concrete path still wet from the fresh water spray as the wave eternally lap eroding what man has placed to bridle your will. WOW! Spent two days of my weekend here and I am not sure how I've never been before? What a beautiful (and huge) park filled with hidden treasures and so much to explore. I spent some of my Friday afternoon playing tennis with my sister on the tennis courts at the center of the park. While the courts have seen better days after a long winter, they were completely empty and provided some gorgeous views (both scenery and DOGS) for our "match." On Sunday, my fam and I decided to take my nephew to the playground for a little picnic and play action. The playground is well equipped with swings and tons of shade. We took a drive over to the pier and walked that, even though the water levels are insanely high right now. It was still a stunning view and not overly crowded, which was nice. I can't wait to go back for more tennis and a hike at some point in the very near future. Other highlights: some awesome shelters, both covered outdoor and full indoor lodges. With gorgeous views everywhere you look, this park is a must! read more

My family has been coming to Lake Ontario every summer since 2005. Webster Park is a staple in our itinerary for the week. It's a lovely park with walkways and paths. The pier is nice for pictures! Lovely sunsets here. read more

Another beautiful Rochester Park with lots to see and enjoy! I like this park because it makes up a bunch of different types of area with a beautiful lake front area for swimming, fishing, and just relaxation. There are some fantastic hiking trails which are well marked and give a good workout without being too intense. They're good for all seasons and are especially beautiful during the winter for snow shoeing or cross country skiing. Down on the lake side there is a pier to enjoy some incredible views. There are tons of different shelters here that can be rented in advance for parties and celebrations including a super pretty one on the bluff overlooking the lake. Great park, good amount of parking, and lots to do and enjoy! read more

Went for my club Annual BBQ. The White House Lodge is on top of the hill with the backyard looking over Lake Ontario. We had a great BBQ with ribs, hotdogs, burgers and all the side dishes. The place is spacious and inviting. There is a big lawn that looks right into Ontario Lake. The view spectacular with glorious Sunsets. One problem for the first time visitor is the official address. Half way down the road. If I had not found someone to direct me to the Lodge I wouldn't have found it. read more

I love bringing my toddler here! Gorgeous walk along the water. We especially like the little creek leading up to the lake as it's shallow enough to explore and we often see ducks. There are areas to picnic and tons of photo ops! read more

This is my first time back at the park since early this year. This small waterfront area isn't a place for swimming. To me it's more for walking and sitting to just enjoy the water. There's a bridge to cross over the creek and you are able to go to the pier from here. I see people fishing sometimes, mostly from the creek though. The water was calm today but I enjoy just a few waves so I can hear them splash against the boulders by the water. Thankfully it wasn't too busy. read more

This park is quite large so prepare yourself with a little online research so you know before you go. There are several loop trails we hiked, many of which connect, but the markings are less than clear compared to a state park so be mindful of that and keep the map saved on your phone so you don't get too off track. It's great for an afternoon walk or a change of scenery for a dog walk. We took a longer trek to get some hiking in for a hour or two at our most recent visit walking the west loop, meandering through Ryan's point and a few other connecting trails. There are a few spots along each loop that connect to the road and lead to cabins, fire pits, and picnic tables. The trails themselves were easy to walk, some ranging in difficulty with some more incline/decline on the west loop. Following the major windstorm this past winter there were a few trees down on the trails - nothing we couldn't navigate around. Hopefully they can clear that soon or redirect the path. We parked in the Nature Preserve lot on Whiting Rd and accessed the trail across the street. There's a portapotty at the entrance should you need to use the facilities before your trek. There's also a campground, which is great for a close-to-home getaway. You enter off Lake Rd. It's a big open area and there were a mix of tents and campers when we were last there. read more

Great Park for all seasons! The pier is a must see, kind of like an uncrowded version of the beach in Charlotte with even better scenery to boot, and the stream leading up to the beach is just lovely. This past week I went adult sledding with some friends on one of the hills and had a blast. It's a very relaxing area. read more

Traveling in a 38 foot coach we stayed 5 nights in a site for big rigs. Our site was on the south side, we were next to 5 or 6 other coaches and there was good room between each. The park is flat so it looked like most of the sites were level. I would never want to stay in their main camping area because there is not much room between sites. Our only complaint was that most sites lacked gravel. So if you know it is going to be raining your heading into a mud pit once you pull onto your site. Is it that hard to put a little gravel down on the dirt? Our satellite did not work here because there are large trees everywhere. If you have a dog there is ample area to walk your pet. The park is located in a quiet area. read more

This is a diverse park that is home to high-pine covered trails and lake front, so you get a good mix of scenery. The trails are suitable for running or hiking. There is even a campground there-- it's not the best campground but I think it would be great for area families that want to test the waters bringing little ones new to camping out-- not too far from home in case plans need to change. There is a small pier that juts out into the lake, I see fishermen out there frequently. In the winter the Rochester Cross Country Ski Foundation grooms the trails. I'm not sure why the other reviewer gave this park a negative review because of the off leash dogs? That is the fault of the dog owner, not the park. There is a leash rule at this park just like all other parks in the area. read more

There is a problem of unleashed dogs at this park. Beware. During my walk today, there were so many unleashed dogs that I changed directions three times to avoid them. Upon making my way back to the parking lot, three large dogs rushed me and when I called out to the owner to control them, she "went off" on me! Lied about them being on a leash, cursed, name called, and made excuses for her lack of control. No apology. When I took out my phone to record all of this, she fled hurriedly to her vehicle and sped away. I contacted the park staff and the Monroe County Sheriff. If any of you have similar encounters, don't hesitate to contact the Sheriff. This is not my first review stating this problem. Over time I have been jumped on, rushed by a pit bull towards my dog, and my dog was bitten by a golden retriever requiring over $500 in vet bills. Be forewarned!! read more

Hidden Gem of a campground a stone's throw from Lake Ontario. Apparently, it is a favorite of locals who are just having a grand old time. It has everything that one expects (and doesn't expect) in a public park campground. We loved how every site was somewhat secluded by trees and bushes. read more
