The Cobra Lounge essentially has three spaces: the former brewery's bar space (still feels like a brewery), the lounge, and the music venue. They all deliver a top-notch experience! Having read reviews and menus for All Rise Brewing Co. online, we headed in for beers and dinner, then quickly realized the brewery was no more. No complaints, though--what we found was a laid-back, welcoming bar with plenty of local beer on tap and a menu full of interesting pizzas. We tried some beers, and split a Clam Bake Pizza--that was pretty awesome. Classic cult movies playing on the screens (I hadn't seen Buckaroo Banzai in awhile!) gave the place a little added atmosphere. Our bartender was super cool & helpful. The room got close to full as showtime neared, but was always comfortable. Patrons likely vary depending on what music's playing; this night was shoegaze/goth and the multi-generational crowd looked like fans of those genres. We ended up staying for the night's live show, which was a lineup of four bands (one touring and three local, I think) for a very reasonable price. We could take our drinks from the bar into the venue and/or order more in the lounge space. I wasn't alone, but would've felt safe and comfortable on my own there. The venue's an elevated stage with two sets of steps. There doesn't appear to be any back room; gear and cases were piled in an alcove. The sound and lights were good. Bathrooms were just fine. No seats in the venue, but it's cool to come and go to hang out in the lounge or bar. Cobra Lounge has a small, well-lit parking lot and there's plenty of street parking available too. read more

I didn't know what to expect when we purchased tickets to see a show at Cobra Lounge but walked away a fan. The lounge is setup basically in three sections-the bar when you first walk in, the side room (where the show was) and a connection to All Rise Brewing (which I don't think actually brews beer any longer). After getting our hand stamped for the show, you can walk into and enjoy all the spaces. I enjoy the dark and wide open interior-we didn't have any problems finding a place to imbibe before the show started. They had a decent tap selection and your regular booze options behind the bar. While we didn't eat there, the pizza coming out of the kitchen looked solid. We had a great time seeing the show. It's an intimate space and acoustically, it sounded great. Staff were super friendly and the audience (at least at our show) were well behaved. We had a great time. read more

We went to the Cobra Lounge for dinner and a show recently. Since we'd never been to the venue we weren't sure about the bag policy (the website just states no bags allowed), so I messaged them on Facebook and Instagram (which is what the ticket email said to do if we had questions) but never heard anything. Since we were coming from out of town I just wanted to be prepared if I was going to have to take stuff back to the car, etc. Turns out, we didn't have to worry because they were super lax about the bag policy (at least for the Hidden in Plain View show) and I saw people with small backpacks etc. inside the venue. We got there early and had some dinner on the patio - I got the burrata, and Nate got the Korean fried chicken sandwich. The burrata was tasty but needed a little salt. I wasn't super hungry so it was a good portion (although I was pretty hungry later in the night). I had a bite of the chicken sandwich - the chicken was fried really well but it was super messy. You can get a side salad or fries with sandwiches, always nice to have options. The fries were battered and crispy, my favorite kind. The menu had some really tasty sounding options, so I'd try more of their food. The venue itself is tiny, I felt like I was in someone's basement. And it was SUPER LOUD. Definitely bring earplugs! There is a tiny bar right inside the venue but we had an open tab at the main bar. Bartenders were fast and slinging PBR nonstop. They only have a few beer options from their own brewery, I tried their seltzer which was okay, not very bubbly but had real lime flavor. The area is kind of industrial but there was a very fancy looking bar nearby. We reserved a spot around the block on SpotHero and all went well there. Cobra Lounge is a cool place to come for a show or just to grab some drinks. The show room itself is pretty small and can get HOT (we had to ask them to turn the air on) but it's pretty neat to be close to the artists! There's an outdoor area for nice weather days and two separate bar areas that really help to keep the spot feeling less crowded. Highly recommend their chicken tenders. It's more of a chicken parm style and it's absolutely delicious! read more

Had a goofy experience. This was a while ago. Ordered a chicken sandwich & i took one bite and could tell that some of the ingredients weren't fresh at all. My waitress called the manager for me, and i told him about it. He assured me "all the ingredients are totally fresh." I said "well it doesn't taste fresh. the buns specifically taste awful." and he replies, "Oh well the buns were frozen." OH. SO IT WASNT ALL FRESH? ITS A CHICKEN SANDWICH, ITS 3 INGREDIENTS, TOP BUN, CHICKEN, BOTTOM BUN. LITERALLY 2/3RDS OF THE SANDWICH WERE FROZEN. The manager made a big stink about it, not like i was being rude, but more like i was being pretentious about being about being able to tell that their food was frozen. So weird for real. There was another time I walked in and Bone Tomahawk was playing. Like the scene where they saw the guy in half. I know bars are 21+ obviously but geez. My love and I went to Cobra Lounge awhile back - or was it All Rise Brewery? Our visit was on a gray Saturday mid-afternoon, so we came for only a bit of food and drink and not any live music. The place had a very laid-back vibe, and the kind service we received was fine with us. We were not too hungry so we split a Cobra Burger with a side of fries. Although the burger and fries looked basic, it was all very flavorful and satisfying. I enjoyed my Three Orange Wit beer too. read more

Beer and food is always solid if not better than expected. Like the outdoor patio, but it could use a bit of a facelift and cleaning, but they allows dogs so I give them a pass. Live in the neighborhood so we hop in once every couple of months. The young lady who's normally helping us is super nice and attentive. I asked what draft beers they had and the bartender pointed down to a row of unlabeled draft handles.son instead of asking him to list the beers I looked over to a guest that was drinking out of a can and smashed for that. Cobra Lounge is attached to the All Rise brewery. It isn't in a great area, but it's worth a risk to have some beer along with some good ass grub. Lots of house beer along with guest beers on tap. Food is too good to get overshadowed, so get you some of it. The bar seems like a radical hipster's basement, and there's also a nice patio. Business listing for here is kind of confusing but makes sense after awhile. It's the bar that's attached to the All Rise brewery. The bar serves all the beers from the brewery, along with a few others. Cobra Lounge also has a kitchen. The food menu is actually interesting and not like typical forgettable bar food at most places. As for the beer, I've liked all so far. My favorite is the Backlash Jack. It's $7 for most pints, a common price for craft beers. This is an English Brown Ale, with roasted barley and chocolate rye sweetness. As for the food, it's also good. Last time I had the Bulgogi Mushroom And Quinoa Wrap. It's $14, but it's a lot of food. This has bulgogi mushrooms, carrots, mixed greens, quinoa, and red cabbage in a wrap. It's bigger than it looks and took awhile to eat. This was filling and made a good lunch. Get your drink and eat on, and enjoy the cool atmosphere. It's good if you like metal and punk. This review is only for the food portion since we did not see a show while we were there. We really hoped that they would have the hot dog soup but unfortunately it was pea soup. I have heard all of their soups are amazing but the Chicago hot dog one is supposed to be the best. We sat at the bar and the service was good. They have a nice selection of beers and liquor. They have one pinball machine up front which was cool and we played for a while. The sandwich and fries were really good. I can't remember the name of mine but I had some chicken fusion sandwich which was really good. Parking was easy. Great place to grab a sandwich a beer and enjoy some local music. If you like punk music and dive bars this one spot you should check out. Not for the faint of hearted, and I much prefer that. Sadly since Exit on North Ave. closed venues like this have become more difficult to find. While there are larger bars such as Delilah's Chicago the vibe of this smaller space works well. If you're looking for the punk scene, go after the attached micro brewery closes. The only negative I offer is the drink prices are a bit high for a dive bar, where normally a PBR can be had for $3. They only serve their mico-brews so priced a bit higher and no major brand beers. read more

this was my first time. met kate, our bartender/server. it was late afternoon. everyone who came in was a regular. i went there with a regular. drinks were great! except, the melora, a chicago/cobra bar special, super bitter, not like bitter melon soup bitter, but more so... but the roast beef sandwich was on point, as well as the horseradish sauce, delicious. the ambience was cozy and comfortable. great long bar. bar tap areas, and patio space. looking forward to coming back to this metal bar/brewery with charm, even though i'm a classical girl. will definitely be back! try it if you're in town!!! cheers, xiang read more

This place is great! I came here on a Thursday during the day after having the day off and there were a couple regular who were here so it definitely wasn't dead! The atmosphere is pretty sweet and the bartender was an Angel! She was very sweet and made sure everything was up to par. The staff overall was very friendly. I had the Reign in Blood sour and that was super tasty! Highly recommend if you like sours. I had a small bite with the Buffalo cauliflower and that was also very tasty! I do wish there were a couple more carrots on the plate but that's okay! The main dish was great! Over all, definitely give this place a try! read more

After finishing up at a nearby brewery, had to make a stopover here to check out this lounge/brewery/pub. Cool spot playing rock music with a dimly lit interior but welcoming outdoor seating area to enjoy a slightly quieter atmosphere. Was able to get a table for two on a Friday evening without any wait. Lots of options here from All Rise Brewing, ranging between $5-7 on draft. Tried both the Wonder Beer ($7 for 16 oz) and Bock Sabbath ($7 for 16 oz); the former being a hoppy but dry IPA and the latter a balanced/malty finish. Despite having an extensive food menu, wasn't hungry enough to order something significant. Opted for the Churros ($6) - several long sticks of churro goodness. Plenty of sugar and served with a chocolate dipping sauce. Servers here are very nice and did the best they could considering it was a full Friday crowd. Definitely will come back if given another opportunity. read more

I love this place. It's a comfortable spot where you can get up close and personal and see some great music. Great vibe nice crowd. There 2 parts there's the restaurant where there is seating and a bar. There is a beautiful main bar when you walk in also with seating. There is the area where you can dance and see the shows. I did eat here. We had burgers and fries. Simple but good. Those fries were great. Drinks also good. There is loads of parking close. I think they have a parking lot. Not sure. read more

Came by for the first time during COVID and had a great time on the patio. Cool atmosphere, plenty of social distancing, will definitely return. All Rise Brewing had a great selection of beers and I was tempted to try a handful. I ended up getting the three orange wit as I like strong beers and wheat beers and this is stronger than your typical wheat, though not quite an imperial wheat. It was a solid beer but I think I was hoping for a stronger citrus flavor. The Bock Sabbath and the Clara also looked great - next time I suppose. We also shared some apps, nothing fancy, just some hummus and queso. The hummus was good. The queso was an enormous amount of cheese which was pretty decent. The chips were actually not good. they were soooooo oily. Oil with a side of tortilla chip. And soggy, there was so much oil they weren't crispy. read more

I've been describing this place as a concert venue attached to a bar/restaurant attached to a brewery. We went for a concert on a Friday evening and hung out at the bar for a while. Food was very good and their brew, Reign in Blood, was very good. Staff were very nice and helpful. Concert venue is a bit small, so acoustics aren't great, but we had a really great experience! We didn't have a tough time finding parking, but we arrived pretty early. Overall great vibes! Would definitely go back! read more

ALMOST GOT ATTACKED. Just had one of the scariest experiences of my life at this bar, and had to call the police after just barely getting away without being physically assaulted. As my friend and I walked up, we were immediately verbally assaulted by people protesting Gaza outside the bar. They yelled at us as we walked up "Do you support killing babies in Gaza?!!" They were incredibly aggressive and threatening, and it seemed like violence could break out any second. When my friend and I ducked into the bar to get away from them, they soon came into the bar themselves, and it became clear they all knew each other, and were friends with the people behind the bar. My friend and I quickly left, at which point the Gaza protester regulars followed us out, and one started screaming at us through a megaphone inches from our faces. I told him if he kept doing that I was going to call the cops, and that enraged another protester so much that he ran over and started screaming right in the face of my friend as my friend was trying to get into his Uber to leave. It was seriously one of the most terrible, scary experiences I've ever had. At no point did anyone from this establishment even attempt to calm down the situation or kick out the violence, unbalanced people who were trying as hard as they possibly could to start a fight. To sum it up: I feel lucky to be writing this review right now instead of a police report. read more

We came here after District Brew yards was too packed and so glad we did!! You can't tell just from walking past, but they have a really nice fully shaded patio and outdoor/indoor space. They probably have about 12 tables for seating. Service was fantastic, food was surprisingly very good (get fries!!), and beer was very good. Not a ton of variety, but at least one or two of something you would want to try. Prices overall were very reasonable too and we were able to have a fun night without breaking the bank. read more

I dunno labels, it seemed to me like cool laid back people. Solid little bar that also is attached to a brewery called All Rise. They have all their beers that they brew on tap. I had the reverend bobs, and the wonder beer. Both were good but I liked the wonder beer better. I know they have a full food menu but sadly I didn't have enough time to try it, but the food I saw people getting looked good though.
