Sky Side Exteriors was hired by my general contractor to do the vinyl siding and soffit work for…read moreour new home build. The installation occurred in or near December of 2024. I "took ownership" of the completed build in April of 2025, which is when the one year warranty on the entire build began. The total cost of the siding materials was $14512.78 and the total cost charged by Sky Side Exteriors (for their labor only) was $30,060.00. Of this 30K, $24300 was for the vinyl siding, the rest for facsia and soffit and cleanup. Over the time that has passed since taking ownership, there has been a common theme: 1. Random pieces falling off or coming loose, which shows evidence of installation failure 2. Certain rows being "too close together" so they don't lock together properly and come loose 3. Certain rows where nearly all the fasteners had completely fallen out because they weren't appropriately secured to the ICF wall. 4. Almost all rows showing bubbling, which is caused by a mixture of fasteners not being centered in the slots and also being too tight (the manufacturer installation guide video requires a 1/16" gap between fastener head and the vinyl). 5. Whenever rows have fallen off (or been detached as part of a repair) these fastener flaws are present on nearly all fasteners. The location of the manufacturer installation documentation and videos can be found in my review photos. Or just search for: Certainteed Mainstreet vinyl siding installation You want to find the "product page" and on it in the "installation" section you will find videos and a PDF document quite easily that show all the things the installer should have done differently. As to any claim this is a "poor quality product" I would just say: 1. The manufacturer provides a lifetime warranty from a materials perspective 2. My previous home, built in 2011, had this exact same siding, and we had zero of these issues. The whole reason we chose this product for this build is because we had 13+ years of great ownership experience with it. The first few flaws were at least somewhat addressed by the installer, however as failures continued to happen, Sky Side no longer replied to my general contractor who was contacting them for warranty repairs. Hopefully these facts will be useful to others considering the services of Sky Side Exteriors.

We have owned a duplex in CDA for about 15 years that has always needed a new roof. We finally had…read morea good set of tenants on both sides with steady income coming in. It was time to replace the roof that was perilously old after a large windstorm blew off a patch of shingles. Our contractor put in a huge bid, hoping that our insurance company would simply write them a check. Didn't happen. I did an extensive review of roofers in the area and settled on North Idaho Exteriors and one other. Both jumped off of the page. I had solid bids fairly quickly from both companies. Chris Haley reached out to me and sent me all of the information. Chris noted to me that they couldn't get started on it for 3 months but would send a crew out to cover up and patch the exposed area of the roof. A huge help! Wil McGuire called me and let me know that they were going to knock out the roof the next day. I was impressed that they were able to finish the whole project in a day. It makes it much nicer for the tenants. Wil kept me informed of the progress throughout the day with copious photos, videos, and explanations. Sadly, all of our plywood sheeting needed to be replaced as it was very soft and rotting out. There was also a ceiling joist that was in need of repair. The whole tear down and installation was finished within the day. The only downside was the extra cost of the plywood (which I had anticipated). Chris helped me out and matched the other bid that I had received to help soften the blow of the additional cost. The communication process has been amazing. Chris and I have had many very nice conversations (talking about baseball and our kids). Makes it nice when you have a personal connection in addition to the business transaction. Very nice, smooth, and easy transaction with a very high quality, warrantied, roof. I highly recommend!

We recently bought a home that desperately needed a new roof and mold remediation. The mold issue was a huge health concern for us since we have three very young children and I have asthma. It was urgent to get the roof done ASAP, since it had to be completed before they could start on the mold issue. I talked to several roofers in the area and did several bids. North Idaho Exteriors was the only one that was concerned about my family health and willing to re-arrange their schedule to help us out (due to our time crunch). It started leaking within 6 months and wouldn't come out and re-repair nor refund the fee. Had a "partner" reach out to me to discuss the fix and three times I was ghosted on just trying to get a temporary fix until I could get a proper fix in place.
