This owner and company was great to work with. Our unfortunate experience was having to deal with Choice Home Warranty in the mix. This is essentially the ONLY contractor around that will deal with this warranty company (and for good reason we learned). Choice kept trying to persuade us to "get it fixed, then get reimbursed" by Choice. Luckily, one of our friends was in the middle of a dispute with Choice trying to get reimbursed for months, so we refused that option. It took Choice almost a month to assign someone to repair our AC in over 100 degree weather. We would post requests on the Choice messaging site almost daily, they would be removed. We were told by Choice appointments had been made then cancelled by Cocina (once we had Cocina's name and contact info things became much clearer). Cocina had not made an appointment, it was Choice blaming Cocina, trying to get us to go the "reimbursement" route. We started sharing messages that Choice was sending us, with Cocina - it was amazing. The deceit involved with Choice was unbelievable. They would delete any of our messages complaining about how long of time it's been to fix our repair, or that we were suffering in over 100 degree heat for weeks. I kept screen shots of everything and then the next day our comments would be deleted. Once Cocina was on it, and we were communicating directly with them, our repair/replacement went smoothly. I feel bad for these guys that they are getting a bad rap when Choice is in the background manipulating things. We had an excellent experience with Cocina and wouldn't hesitate to use them directly for AC repairs! read more

Here's how it started, during ice storm my heat pump made a funny noise, I called my home warranty company and they sent out Cocina solutions. After the tech went over the system the assessment was had some ice build up causing imbalance. Made sense since when we turned system on it ran great. He checked everything ,Air handler in attic and outside unit. Said system was fine. I gave him my check for service call. And the next day i go email from my home warranty company saying they denied my claim, And proceeded list items that were bad .And if i didn't have them fixed it would void my warranty on AC system through them, So called cocina and talked to Jose he said they had problem with that tech and released him. He agreed and said they would either send my original check back or refund my service fee, And email my home warranty and explain nothing wrong . After not receiving my check i called weekly and was told its on its way,That was almost 2 months ago And nothing. I decided to go visit the address they had listed on website, Turns out it was and abandoned old taco stand. I assuming they use it as Biz address and work from home. I have made repeated attempts to retrieve my check and no luck no call backs or anything. My home warranty people said no email has come from them. read more

Our AC and heating unit broke on 3.4.2022. We have a home warranty through Choice home warranty. Cocina came out on 3.8.22 to have a look. Then changed it to the 11th. Finally someone came out on the 15th They decided our unit was better off being replaced They scheduled our replacement for 3.28 They told us we had to pay $950 for some electrical work and other fees not covered by CHW. We asked for an itemized receipt and were told quote "Unfortunately we get that question often and since CHW is who the contract is with, we are not allowed to disclose details without their consent. We are not privy to what CHW does/doesn't cover in their contracts I am sorry". We went ahead and paid. They canceled our appt. Said they did not receive parts. On April 11th Choice Home Warranty contacted us that we had to pay $150 for parts not covered. I asked then why are they already scheduling the repair appointment if parts are not even ordered. Went ahead and paid the $150 new install date set for 4.20. Delayed again due to no parts to 4.28. Showed up. Supposed to be a 1 day job. Didn't finish. Came back the 29th said would be done by 12 to 2. Guy left at 3:30 with chest pains and overheating. He was working in an Attic and with electrical alone in the heat! They said someone would come out and finish. They did not. Owner came to gather guys tools. I asked if I go buy a window unit would I be reimbursed because it was hot outsid and we were going to be stuck in the heat for another weekend He said yes. This portion unfortunately was verbal. They came back Monday and "finished" but the unit still wasn't cooling right, but was working somewhat. Owner Jose instructed me via text to give receipt for window unit to worker and they would reimburse us. By 5.6 I hadn't heard on the reimbursement so I texted. Said he would follow up on 5.9 he did not so I texted and said it still wasn't cooling house. He said someone would come out 5.11 and give us the check. They did not have the check and wanted the old unit back before reimbursement which was never agreed upon.He even stated over text messages that the return of equipment was never discussed. If I was just wanting to do a return/refund I could of done that at Lowe's and not gone through Cocina. I figured this would help make things right from this nightmare of a job. 2 months without air or heat and 4 days of install. Do not recommend. read more
