Cocomero is a fruit and yogurt shop right of the main quad at the University of Illinois. They serve frozen yogurt, teas, smoothies, and much more. This is a very popular spot. My husband and I got a mango smoothie to share. We could taste the fresh high quality ingredients. This seems like a great hangout place with your friends or a nice place to study away from your dorm.

The picture of the coffee where i was mistreated and felt watched

One of the stuff had racially motivated behavior towards me. First he said we don't accept cash, then he said don't wait in line we don't accept card and I have to use the order device or the app. I've vision disability so that's not a good option for me. Although I've ordered coffee there before and paid with cash and card and wasn't asked to use the device to order before. I'd my Afro hair pretty good it attracted him I guess and made him keep an eye on me watching me and keep bothering me telling me what to do where to order and stuff while there were bunch of other people in line and he didn't ask any of them.

Really good froyo!!! Quick and easy service It's quite small with good energy and the ambience here is nice. Very likable place!

I love Cocomero so much it is a classic froyo place with all the best options for toppings. They have something for everyone, if u like sweet, fruity, salty, they have everything! The frozen yogurt tastes so good and fresh (so much better than dining hall ice cream). I ate mine up it was actually perfect. And the window seats upstairs are perfect for watching campus life. I love going here with friends and i look forward to my future cocomero outings!

This is As good as I remember it from 6 years ago. I liked the simplicity of the froyo options and it is cheap. Quality- I got the green tea and taro flavored froyo. The green tea flavoring is great and you can taste it but I thought the tarp could have been brought forth more. It was pretty tasteless. Quantity- 65 cents for each ounce is ok for froyo. There are cheaper places around for ice cream and yogurt. Price- see above Atmosphere- this is what sells it. I like the coffee shop atmosphere and sitting upstairs while studying is nice. Service- good service. It is self serve.

I grabbed an iced Americano and sat on the second floor this Sunday afternoon. The beverage was okay, and the decoration made it cozy for studying. However, it was noisy afterward because more and more people went in, sitting around tables and chatting loudly. The music was loud as well, which made it hard to continue to focus on my work, even though I was wearing noise-canceling headphones. Maybe this place would be better for studying during the holidays!

A great place to catch up with some friends, while also having some great cold drink. Anytime I go yo Cocomero, I get the strawberry and banana smoothie. It is usually sweeter then what I would like my smoothie to taste like, however, it's still a good smoothie overall. They also serve frozen yogurt(plus the toppings) here, and have a lot of seating. Whether that be for hanging with friends, or trying to find a niche place to get some studying in.

Great service and prices but drink tasted a bit too powdery for my liking. The place is clean and quiet enough to study or do homework!

Friendly staff. Teas are okay, mine was bitter though. Decor reminds of an airport lobby café. There are seats by the window. You could sit by the window and work and/or people watch. They have a second floor where there is ample seating, and good for groups.

It's self-serve frozen yogurt. Is this a new concept to you? If so, welcome to America! It loses a star for not handing out tiny cups to sample the flavors. The guy at the counter said the U of I students tend to abuse the privilege. So thanks, Thieving Illini! Toppings were fresh and the yogurt was tasty. It was also cool that it has a second floor, so you can climb the stairs to look out toward campus.

    The topping selection is unreal.

I've made stuff with okara before and like the particular flavor and texture-- it feels drier and denser because of the soy pulp, but it's something I like. However, a few weeks ago, (6/6/26) I had a disappointing experience with a staff member there while picking up an online cake order. On the day of cake pick up, I was done with errands at around 10am, I called the bakery to ask if it was possible to pickup the cake early. The girl on the phone sounded very annoyed with my request (I was just asking, they could have said no) and told me they don't do pickups until noon but I can still come in. So I get there and she immediately starts treating me like I was a huge inconvenience. As she's handing me the cake, she pulls out a receipt and started scolding me that pickups don't start until noon and it's right there on the website. I showed her my email receipt confirming 10:30am pickup and how there's literally two different sections with different times on their website so i was obviously confused. but she ignored my explanation and continued chastising me for the misunderstanding of the pickup times. I just let it go as I didn't want to argue but I left feeling very upset. I think management/owners dropped the ball on training staff on how handle these types of situations with professionalism and not immediately placing blame on the customer. I tried my best to smile and be friendly to her but she was starting to become defensive. There was no accountability for the user interface of their website. She made sure to make it known that it was my mistake alone. I have not decided whether I will continue to support this establishment but I won't be back for awhile.

Drinks and food themselves are very interesting and well made. Not in a "this is amazing", but it was good. My group and I enjoyed everything that we ordered, so the drinks and food were probably designed to please as many people as possible. The variety in their menu is interesting and I'm surprised they were willing maintain their diverse selections. The location is more in a hole-in-a-wall spot. Parking is a pain, but it's in a walking neighborhood amidst a bunch of stores and restaurants. It's a nice place to pop by for a quick drink or dessert after a huge dinner or for a walking break. The biggest concern I had with the place is that it's really not designed for people to stick around. Very few seats or uncomfortable standing areas.
