Coco's Bionicos is another Mexican themed juice bar in Hawaiian Gardens that carries milk shakes, salads, sandwiches, tortas, ice-creams, coffee and specialty items (bionico, raspados, diablito) that you would typically expect to find in such a setup. A couple of days ago I was in the area for work and wanting to have a simple Bionico for lunch decided to give Coco's Bionico a try. Coco's Bionicos is located in the same lot as Walmart so I had no difficulty finding it or getting parking in the large lot at the peak lunch hour. Upon entering it looked to be very clean and inviting. It had a couple of tables to eat-in but it seemed to be essentially a to-go place. I decided to get a small bionico ($5.5) with everything to go. I paid cash so I'm not sure if they take cards. What I noticed was that prices for the medium and larger were higher than the typical range that I'm used to, so I had my doubts about the size of the small. These were confirmed when I got my order. It was a really tiny snack size box. The good news was that all the fruits were fresh, the crema was sweet but not too sweet and they give you a lot of it. The bad news is that the papaya was a bit raw so it had to be discarded which turned the small portion even smaller. There was also very little granola and it did not have a nice crunch to it. Overall it was not bad if you are looking for a quick snack but I would not recommend it for a complete lunch substitute. Price wise, even though it was in-lines with what I'd pay for a small at other locations, when factoring in the small portion it works out to almost 30% more expensive. I doubt that I will return and will probably make the trek to Ana's Bionicos in Norwalk to satisfy my Bionico needs. read more

Sooooo I had no idea what to expect when i came here. My family seems to be all about Mexican food.... Which I am not... I walk in and it is super cute and the man behind the counter is super sweet. This is a sweet little store in a somewhat abandoned plaza. The big supermarket has closed down in this area and so it's hard to get foot traffic around here. However, the workers here really awesome. They're sweet and nice. They recently put up a more visible sign so I hope more people can wander into this place and discover their delicious bionicos (mexican fruit salad). Bionicos are always a hit at any potluck party! The only reason I'm giving 4 stars (still being generous) is that the meat they used in the torta I ordered (carne asada) was microwaved and so tough and dried out that I couldn't even eat it. I was super bummed!!! Like they overlooked it and then stuck it in the microwave for way too long. I would suggest you just stay away from their hot food items and stick to the yummy fresh stuff. :) read more

Okay, so I love Bionicos, strawberries & banana mix, with all the toppings to be exact. I usually don't try a lot of places cause most of them use cheap store-bought bottles of Lachera! Ummmm NOO!! It should taste homemade thick and rich like your bisabuela made it! Now I've been buying only the best, the good stuff from only two places, one in Compton behind Tom's Burgers and one in Downey on Paramount! (neither are affiliated) I'm not getting paid to pump these other places up, so I'll just leave it at that! But if you want something to compare some bomb Bionicos, that's where you start! I digress! Now Coco's was mediocre at best! The cream is not rich and thick enough! I think the biggest thing that really disappointed me, was the pricing! For the smallest, he charged me $6.50 (high) and I always ask for a small 1/2 cup size of extra cream on the side! He had the audacity to charge me $1.75! WAYYYMENT REALLYYYY $1.75?!!? Nahhh bruuhh who the heck are you fooling!! I've gone to the other places (where the cream is rich, delicious, and way better) and a $1.75 will damn near get you a quart-size cup! I will be a little empathetic and fair here and chalk it up to the rent being higher over there in "Hawaiin Gardens" (emoji eye roll)! But that's bologneee! To sum this place up, would I go back? This is my go to Bionico spot, since its nearby. Fruit is fresh and the cream topping is always tasty. I will bring it to for potluck at work and its always enjoyed. I have yet to try the tortas, but I would recommend it. Service is always efficient and service with a smile. read more
