We all sat on the floor with Bear surrounding him with love while photos and videos played on our TV screen and talked about our favorite times with him. Dr Dana did not rush and Bear went to sleep peacefully. She brought a stretcher in and covered him with flowers before taking him to the transport vehicle to be cremated. The Doctor who came to the house was gentle, kind and respectful. She arrived in a small car and on time. Very peaceful and nothing scary about her. My pet was euthanized with a peaceful injection by a doctor who made my pet feel comfortable and not afraid. Also relevant is the employee who scheduled the appointment was very helpful and provided much needed therapy for me as I phoned the business number to schedule an appointment. It was an emotional conversation for me and she was pleasant, professional and pleasing. I appreciate her too. However, knowing the time wasn't quite right for that, with their guidance and excellent vet care, Jelly had more and better quality of life with me. Dr Dahlgren provided excellent care and was available when the going got tough, whether by text or visit and you know things always seem to happen after hours - and having Dr Dahlgren available to advise versus not knowing if a cold show up at some ER was warranted. Along with our primary vet at Betty Baugh's I am confident both Jelly and Boone got amazing care. Emma was visiting monthly and was always able to find the meds Boone needed at the mg best so I didn't have to cut pills etc and when you get a few meds going, it is very very helpful. Gail gave wonderful care with massages and Brandi was gentle and kind on the phone. Dr Dahlgren spent a complete Sunday reassuring me of how to get thru the day, from upping some anti nausea meds to a diet change. I sent pics of things I am sure she has seen before but who wants that diarrhea pic. I just love her and them. I am forever grateful.

I had sent them a photo for his urn and everything when I scheduled the appointment. When I called to find out what the delay was and they seemed to act as they didn't even know I had an appointment. I scheduled the appointment with the owner Eric Hicks by phone 2 weeks before. The gentleman that I spoke with at the time of appointment was not the owner. He told me they could send someone out now, but luckily my veterinarian was still at my house and was able to take him and have him cremated with them. Shout out to Oakes Animal Hospital in Winston Salem for providing me in home euthanasia and cremation services. They are one of the few veterinary hospitals that provides these services for established clients. I have used Serenity Pet before and even recommended them to my aunt when she had to euthanize her dog. She even used their in home euthanasia services. Which I did not because use, because my dog had a lot of anxiety and was comfortable with his veterinarian. My aunt was very pleased with Serenity services and so was I. I am disappointed that now I am not getting the items that came with the services Serenity offered. You have to understand I was emotionally wrecked and could not wait for 20-30 min for them to come. I'm writing this review mainly because they didn't even seem to care to enough to apologize for the mix up. When they text to use storms as an excuse for not being there. Which would be understandable if they had call, but I got the feeling they weren't coming in the first place. Like my appointment didn't exist. I did text them back to let them know my veterinarian was handling it and I had already told them that when I called. Their response was "Ok". No sorry for the inconvenience on one of the worst days of your life. I have used a few pet crematorium before and have never been treated with so little respect on a already difficult day. I choose Serenity Pet because they are still privately owned. Where everyone I've used in the past is now owned by a corporation. This was a very disappointing experience that I did not expect to have.

They DID NOT tell us that it could cause a "paradoxical reaction" in my puppy. When we described the symptoms they then prescribed MORE of the same medication for him. We finally did our own research and found out that these meds were causing this reaction. And if we hadn't mentioned the possibility of this, the vet would've had no idea. Then when we confronted the HEAD VET at this institution about these problems. I was given NOTHING but excuses and justification for their mistake. I was then told that we were making it a bigger deal than it was. Shortly after, the HEAD VET had a MELTDOWN in front of his paying clients. He REFUSED anymore advising (probably for the best) and then proceeded to walk out on us and slammed the door on us. READ THIS and understand that if this is how the head veterinarian treats his patients, he should NOT be allowed to preform any kind of medical practice. And I strongly advise you stay as far away as possible. If they cannot handle being told when they made a mistake, then they should not be responsible for the wellbeing of our pets. UNACCEPTABLE
