I had a good customer experience putting my first two teenagers through Code4 but they really let us down on my third teenager when they cancelled her Monday morning appointment two days before her DMV behind the wheel driving test. The school's scheduling office blamed me for the cancellation because I didn't respond over the weekend to a Saturday or Sunday phone call from their business number. No voicemails were left after either phone call and I was up in the mountains over the weekend with the entire family with spotty cel phone coverage at best. I got home late on Sunday evening and a noticed a text message from Code4 from about 4 hrs earlier that had 30 minute ultimatum to respond to the text or be cancelled, which we certainly were (cancelled). To be completely fair to the entire school, the Code 4 driving instructors were very polite, patient, and professional. God help you though if you make a Monday morning appointment and miss the scheduling office's calls for confirmation over the weekend. They'll cancel you and blame you for it. In my experience, good customer service will at least hear you out and offer to reschedule you. Code4 doesn't seem to take into account your prior business history as a reliable customer who never missed any appointments. I think we had about eight appointments with three kids. The demand for driving instruction must be high enough for them not to care so much about retaining customers or protecting a reputation. My last teenager is going to precisiondrivingschools dot com. I never leave a review but I feel like I need to on this My husband and I called them for over two weeks by phone left messages because we needed them to send us the original paperwork for our son after he passed his driving course. They never responded then I emailed them. They said they would put it in the mail it never came I had to email them two more times and they said again it was in the mail. It was never in the mail. I had called to make an appointment, however, I was sent to voicemail due to it being close to closing time. I went ahead and left a voicemail not expecting any reply until the next day. I ended up receiving a call right away, but was greeted by a cranky woman named Carla I believe. She already seemed on edge to begin with, so I tried my best to be kind. She acted as though I had bothered her. I explained to her my need for an appointment, but she had no drive to help me. All she would say is "I'm almost off the clock." A driving instructor claimed to have my appointments set up and ready for me to get my license this week. He didn't show up yesterday, the day he stated he was going to be here and I called that day asking about the situation later, to be told that they do not have me scheduled at all but they can put me in for June. Did he lie and now I can't get my license as promised? I am so confused and actually really mad about this. Both of my boys were trained by Code 4 Driving School 2 years apart. The first one trained during Covid and the most recent just finished this week. This school is amazing! All trainers were great with my kids and taught them exactly what they needed to know to be great drivers. We used Code 4 driving school and were very happy with the service. My daughter had different instructors each time and they provided great instruction and suggestions to improve. She was going through lessons during the pandemic and when the DMV had to shut down for a period of time. When my daughter's dmv test was rescheduled we were able to get her in for that last minute lesson so that she would have all of the requirements completed. I feel like $300 just went down the drain. Written permit help was all online, dmv offers all this online free. My daughter got one in vehicle lesson. Went to schedule the second one after several months and they tell her they are booked till mid July! 2 months waiting, while the permit is only good for 12months. After getting my learner's permit at 16, failing my first driving test, and then getting two more permits, I decided it was probably time to take my lessons over again. I never felt like I was being screamed at, and whenever I made a mistake, I felt that they were helping me fix it rather than screaming at me for making it at all. We prepaid for all the services my son might need to prepare for his license. Driver's education (online only due to Covid), 6 six 2-hour behind the wheel lessons, and the use of the company's vehicle for his driving test. The website isn't very user friendly but we managed. The driver's education was really thorough and my son passed his written exam on his first try. It's a go at your own pace lesson plan so he was able to review anything he felt he needed work on. After the first day, his login stopped working but a quick email to the company and it was fixed in no time. I called to schedule my son's behind the wheel lessons and the first available date was 3 to 4 months from now, depending on if we were willing to pull him out of school for them. We ended up calling around and getting in with another company the next day so I emailed about a refund on the unused lessons. I never actually heard back from them but received a refund within a week of sending the email. The only things I feel could use improvement are making the website easier to navigate, either hiring more instructors or taking on less clients so wait time isn't months out, and better communication between the company and customers. Aside from those small adjustments, I really appreciate how quickly and easily the process moved for my son to get his permit. read more

I went on a practice drive today before my DMV appointment, the instructor was knowledgeable and he really helped me out by pointing the things that I must work on before my test. However, the instructor didn't wear a mask (even though we were in a closed space together for over an hour), and he didn't do any type of health screening before getting me in the car (now imagine how many people touch that steering wheel every day!). This is very irresponsible for a business during a pandemic. I hope that they implement some sort of protocol to keep their customers and employees safe. PS: I wore my mask the entire time to protect the instructor, I would have appreciated the same courtesy. read more

The best! After a fiasco with another local driving school, I called Code 4 and it's been perfect. Stuart, my daughters instructor is kind and knowledgeable. My daughter only wants him when I call to make her appointments, we've only had him. I went with the 2 hour instruction for my son to teach him the more difficult things that are required for the license test(parallel parking, 3 point turns, etc). He knows how to get in the car and drive but isn't the greatest and would not have passed a driving test at that point. I figured it would be easier and less stressful for him to learn from a third party and they'd give him some useful critique and tips. The lady didn't go over ANY required material or techniques and told him that he's ready for the test and basically took him on a 2 hour joyride. I purchased the three driving sessions, two hours each time. My son felt as though they really prepared him for all kinds of driving situation. The instructors seemed very competent. The last session was driving in downtown Modesto and going over the items he would be required to perform on the Behind the wheel test. She also had booked the drivers test for us and my son was able to go straight from his last tutorial session to his DMV test.
