I requested a plug relocation, troubleshooting of another electric plug receptacles and a generator transfer switch install. They quoted me $1,100 without even setting foot on my property and required 100% payment upfront before they'd even show up. I've never heard of such a thing. I actually couldn't believe what they were telling me while talking to them. I understand 50% down the rest due at completion but 100% upfront without even looking at it or setting foot in my property tells me they do bad work or will show up when they feel like it and people have been refusing to pay. I called to have my bathroom electrical connection redone, but wanted an estimate first. Dan said he would come to give me an estimate, but his receptionist canceled on the same day. Then he sent a journeymen electrician who did not give me an estimate, but started to work as though it was a done deal. He did not introduce himself nor did he leave a bill when he was done. I didn't know it was double what I wanted to pay until I got a bill in the mail a week later. When I called, Dan was very rude to me (was it because I was a woman?) and insisted it was all my fault because I arrived home 10 minutes late. I stopped in to arrange for a site visit to get a quote for installing a generator. I made an appointment for a specific time and date. On the day of the appointment I arrived early and waited for 2 hours Nobody from Code arrived. I did not get a phone call or text from them. If they dont care about getting new business what would service be like after they have your money? Totally unprofessional! read more

Code Electric put in a generator for us after a winter with more than a few power outages. Their bid was less than my other estimate and less than the price that Google said i should expect to pay. They showed up on time and completed the work competently and cleaned up afterwards. They patiently explained care and maintenance of my new generator and i couldn't be happier with their service. I have used them many times for smaller jobs over the years and have always been very satisfied with their work. read more

I called Code to have a tech come to my house because my bathroom power had gone for 2 bathrooms on the 1st fl of our home. I was not told what the minimum service call fee was and I did not ask. The electrician arrived, I explained to him what I had checked in the first few minutes he was in my home. He went into the first bathroom and stated, "It should be fixed now". He went on to explain that there was a GFI outlet near the floor in the BR, it tripped, he reset it, and he was right, all was well. In a matter of 5 minutes he was out of my house and stated that the company would send me a bill, implying a small charge. I thanked him and that was it. About a week later the bill came in and the charge was for $81.50. Now, I didn't have a problem paying a reasonable amt, like $25 or so, for their help but $81.50 just seemed out of line. I called the co. and spoke to Mgr Dan. I explained my difficulty with the charge and he stated that this is the "minimum amt" they charge for a Service Call, min. 1 hrs work or less. I explained to him that I appreciated everything the electrician did, but stated that this is not how good business is done. I stated that if I was charged a reasonable fee, they would be my electricians forever. He would not waver on the charge, stated, "He fixed it for you, didn't he?", and our call ended. Now, this company has lost any future work from me, and I really liked the electrician that came to the home. In this day and age all old fashioned ideas like, hey, we fixed his problem with no effort, let's charge him a reasonable amt, may not exist anymore. I guess if I would have known the 1 hr min. charge, I would have kept the elec. at the house to check some outlets for another 55 minutes. The above episode is just unfortunate in my opinion and this review is mainly for any future customers of the above company--ask min amt charged. Also, check for gfi circuits located near the floor (really should be by a water source). Tx. read more
