What an awesome, fun concert to go to! :-) I've been to this venue several times and it's always been a blast! You park in a cow pasture/field where they have a tractor ride that takes you down to the Codfish Hollow venue. And the tractor runs all night, so you can always get a ride back to your car. Very fun!! There used to be so many trails to explore at Codfish Hollow but they blocked them off, which I was the only thing that I was disappointed about. There were excellent food trucks at this event and a long lawn of mowed grass to sit on with fold up chairs. And also inside the barn was good music and lights which was amazing and awesome! :-) Great place to go and listen to good music and to go and drink and enjoy yourself! This place has been on my list to visit for a long time. Loved that there were lots of firerings dispersed around the pasture plus free, dry firewood. Not sure if it's typical but there was only 1 porto potty (it was October so most campers were in RVs so it didn't matter). My only complaint is I'm starting to turn into an old lady and don't want to stay up and party after the show so was annoyed by how loud it was and for how long after hours. The barn area was amazing and so pretty. Definitely a unique concert experience. Ticket prices are reasonable but can go quickly. read more

This place is hard to describe! It's sorta magical. Imagine driving on gravel roads, being off the grid, no cell service, and finding some signs that say Codfish Hollow.. You park your car and and a gentle man is waiting to take you on a hay ride, down the gravel hill to a huge beautiful barn... The barn is a music venue with full on bar, art space, food truck space and yes you are now in your own magical place where the music hopping, the drinks are dropping, and you can even set up camp and stay over night! I got the opportunity to play here this past weekend and the owners treated us like kings.. Food, drinks, places to stay ect. The show space is beautiful and would also be a great setting for a wedding or other event! The sound was great, the volunteers helping with the event were awesome and I can't really describe this.. It was just out of this world magical and so unique. Lots of bigger artist have played here from Jenny Lewis, to John C. Riley, to Bright Eyes and more.. I can't believe this place exist honestly! I would advice you to check the schedule and make a trip out to see a show.. You won't be disappointed! read more

Bands, barns, booze on the back forty ... what more do you need? Located on a huge expanse of land. You can come in for the evening, or stay in the pasture (cows not included) and camp for the night! Marv takes you up in a tractor where the main events are held for the evening. Food, beverage, and merchandise vendors are located in the same area. The stage is located in a large barn with lights strewn throughout. Very unique experience. The bands are always amazing and talented. read more

Cannot and will not support a venue that promotes segregation and does not honor people's rights to make their own informed decisions on getting a medical procedure done. Many doctors (that won't be on mainstream news) have provided evidence that is concerning about the efficacy and unknown long term effects. The bottom line is YOU are responsible for your own health, not others. If you are sick or compromised, stay home. Healthy people are not a threat. Unvaccinated people are not a threat. We need more musicians and venues to stand for what's right instead of going along with these dangerous and divisive protocols which are not evidence based nor scientific. read more

I have been to Codfish Hollow for their GARP music festival. I'm excited to go back for GARP 2019 this September. Codfish Hollow is one of the best acoustic​ venues I have ever been to before. A wood quonset​t hut shaped​ barn acts like an essentially big speaker to delight people listening outside. Bring your blankets or camping chairs if you plan to listen outside. If you get Barn tickets you'll be treated to one of the most intimate venues in Iowa. GARP has been headlined the past three years by Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats. This venue was a perfect fit for their special brand of soul-inspired​ rock music. Camping nearby in a farm field is included with your ticket. Many will RV camp (no power huck ups, so bring a generator). You can build bonfires with local (Iowa) wood. The neighbor gives tractor rides the half-mile​ to the venue from the campsite. Not only do they strive to be a great place for music, but Codfish Hollow features local artisans selling their creations, craft beer vendors and food trucks to fuel your experience. If you have the chance to head to one of the most beautiful​ places in Iowa to catch a show, buy the tickets. You're​ in for a treat! read more
