On June 2, 2026, my family did a private Yellowstone Lower Loop tour with @Cody Wyoming Adventures. Mike Burns was our tour guide. Mike was great! He grew up in Cody, so he is very knowledgeable about the greater Cody area as well as Yellowstone. Mike answered every single question we asked. He made sure we saw wildlife and even timed our trip that when we arrived at Old Faithful, we only had to wait 10 minutes to see the eruption. Mike picked us up at our hotel and returned us there. We prepaid $458, woke up before dawn, drove 90 minutes, and stood in the cold, pouring rain before 7AM on a street corner with no shelter, waiting for this company's so-called Yellowstone National Park day trip. The tour van NEVER showed. We called repeatedly. "Michael" kept brushing us off -- "She's only 2 minutes late... she has other stops" -- and told us to just keep waiting. One full hour in the rain later, we asked for a refund. His solution? "Come back tomorrow." (As if we had nothing better to do than waste another vacation day waiting on a sidewalk.) The next day, they denied our refund. To add insult, the "guide" claimed she drove past us THREE TIMES and had "witnesses." Yet never called us -- despite having our phone numbers -- then blamed us for "missing" the pickup! She even admitted this happens often... then hung up on us. BOTTOM LINE: * No-show Yellowstone pickup * No way to reach actual guide/driver * ZERO customer service -- only excuses * NO refund Save yourself the headache and heartbreak. Choose a reputable Yellowstone wildlife tour, Yellowstone sightseeing tour, or Yellowstone day tour with real transportation, real communication -- and at least a shred of integrity. Booked an open air van tour with CWA, called a few days ahead and confirmed pick up location, with Michael, was told where to meet the van and by what time (by 7am). I arrived at the location at 6:52 am, saw the van/driver parked and I found a spot to park. By this time, the van was driving off at 6:55am! I called the main number 3 times, got voicemail and a 2nd number to call. I called Michael at 7:02am to make sure they were coming back. He chuckled at me and said, "It's only 7:02, there are multiple vans" so I and two other passengers waited. We ended up making multiple phone calls to Michael and he could not tell us what was going on or why no one was coming back for us. We finally left at 8am. We waited for an hour, and never saw another van like the one I saw when initially pulling up. Now, the owner Sunny will not refund our money and is making up lies about circling back 3-4 times and couldn't find us. That she has a van full of people who signed affidavits stating she did this. We were on the corner, able to see the main and side road the whole time. That did not happen. Just refund our money, admit there was a mistake made. Be professional. Look at the 1-star reviews on Google. Seems to happen fairly often. read more

I spent hours researching the best Yellowstone guided tours and wanted to make sure our family had the trip of a lifetime. Instead, this company RUINED our day. We prepaid $458, woke up before sunrise, and drove 90 minutes to the designated pickup spot for their Cody Wyoming Adventures Yellowstone day tour. We stood in the cold rain before 7AM with no shelter -- waiting for the Yellowstone tour van that never showed up. We called over and over. "Michael" kept brushing us off with excuses like "she's only 2 minutes late, she has other stops" and told us to just keep waiting. Then switching to "I'll call around, I'll go into the office". After an HOUR standing in the cold rain, we asked for a refund. His only "solution"? "Come back tomorrow." Are you kidding me? The next day they flat-out denied our refund. The guide claimed she "drove past three times" and even had "witnesses." Yet she NEVER called us, despite having our phone numbers. Then she actually said this has "happened before," blamed US, and hung up on me. I planned this Yellowstone National Park tour carefully. I trusted them with our time, money, and a bucket-list vacation memory. Do not book a trip with them, we a private scheduled and they called us and asked if they can move it to the next day we said OK. Confirmed time and location day before. Got up extra early and were at location. other tour buses were there and ours were not. Finally got a hold of someone and they said the guy who was supposed to never showed up. They should of reached out but they didn't and wanted to move us to another day. They don't care and are not accommodating. I definitely recommend go with someone else. read more

Our family was staying in Cody, Wyoming for a few days and we decided to try out white water rafting. I found Cody Wyoming Adventures by simply googling "whitewater rafting" and they had availability for my mom and I on Saturday, July 10th. Being from Las Vegas, this was our first time, so we were super excited for this adventure. It was $40 per person and we arrived about 10 minutes prior to our reservation time. We received life vests and instructions when we got to Shoshone river and off we went. Our group had 5 adults and 2 children. Our tour/rafting guide was a young man from Idaho (so sorry, I forgot his name) but he was great. He helped us navigate down the river, told us when to paddle, and also provided some history along the way. After the event you can pay $20 for a flash drive. I paid for the flash drive and I wish is that there were more action photos of you on the river, but I didn't mind having a few photos as a keepsake. Called twice three weeks ahead to book. They decided to not go on the rafting tour we had booked because it was too cold which is totally understandable. DO NOT book your trip with this company. Called the night before to confirm our trip, we were supposed to get picked up at our rv park in Cody at 7:10am. We waited for over an hour without being able to reach ANYONE, and when they picked up on about the 20th time calling we were greeted with the information that they had "no idea what happened", that they forgot to pick us up. Horrible communication between the office and the drivers. We were later called by the driver who was waiting for us at the wrong place with a similar name an hour away (mind you, over an hour after the scheduled pickup time). Overall, incredibly disorganized. We missed our trip. read more

Deanna was truly a great tour guide. I recommend her because she ensured our experience was great and kept us engaged. Deanna also went out of her way to ensure we captured every moment by pointing it out or offering to take amazing photos of my husband and me. I mean, she took many pictures, and I could not believe there was not one photo that was not perfect. (so make sure she is your photo taker) :) She also wanted to ensure we were getting the expected experience by always asking us if there was anything we wanted to see or to do any of the additional things at each stop. Unfortunately, the weather in Yellowstone for Memorial Day Weekend was very cold and there was a lot of snow. When we first got into the park on our tour, there was heavy snowfall. We were told that the south road was closed and that Old Faithfull was closed also. All of us guests were concerned about moving on. There were 2 tour guides, one was training. They were apprehensive about the weather and never reassured any of us or ever said that it would be safe to carry on. All they would say is "this weather wasn't supposed to be here until later tonight". None of us had a sense of reassurance from them with this situation to carry on or not. If the tour guides were more aggressive and took charge, I think we all would have felt better about it. Instead, they left it up to the guests to decide if we should turn back or not and they took a poll. There were 5 in the other party which included the grandparents, parents and a 4 year old. So it was 4 vs. 2 (my husband and I) adults for the decision. They took a poll. My husband and I agreed and my answer to the poll was that we'd prefer to "err on the side of caution". The mom of the child expressed she also felt better to go back because of the young child. The grand parents did not say much except they said "we don't care, we've been to Yellowstone before, we were just doing it for them" pointing to their children. No one put up any kind of resistance about going back. That was the whole poll and all agreed to go back. I messaged the business owner, Sonny, to request a partial refund due to the trip being cut short and not seeing much of anything in Yellowstone. I guess the other guests asked for a refund due to the weather before I asked for ours. Sonny pushed back about giving them a refund just for the bad weather. I know this because we met the people in the airport when flying out. They said to us at the airport "we probably wouldn't have been able to see anything anyway". Sonny also told me that she does not refund just because we hit some bad weather as she says she states on her website. As you will see below, it seems as if the other party used us as an excuse to enhance their plea to try and get their money back. Seems as if Sonny fell for it. Sonny wrote me back saying "I was told that this tour could have continued but didn't because of you guys were scared". The other guests in the van were very upset because they do not get to finish their tour because of your actions which is very sad because they missed their vacation". "This was your decision to stop. I felt bad for the other guests because their tour was shorted because they were doing what you wanted. I did give them a partial refund because of the situation that they were put in. It was your decision to stop the tour and go back. You could have still seen everything. But you chose not to". "From what the other guests and guides said was that you were acting extremely nervous and freaking out a bit and then the other guests were put into an awkward situation because you were afraid". HOW WAS THIS JUST MY CHOICE AND MY DECISION? WHY WOULD I HAVE SO MUCH POWER? And, I was not acting "extremely nervous" and if anyone knows me, I don't freak out, it's not my nature. As the business owner, throwing in our faces that the decision to turn around was all my fault and accusing me of ruining the other tourists' experience is so wrong and unfair. I was unjustly accused of happenings that did not happen the way it was conveyed to me. Furthermore, this was all concluded without Sonny ever chatting with me about what happened. It's so wrong that Sonny decided to give them a refund and we did not receive one. To put this so heavily on me and accuse me of behaving a certain way is just wrong without ever talking to me and terrible customer service. So, in conclusion, I would not recommend handing any money over to this tour company when there are so many other tour companies to choose from that may handle any problems that could arise more professionally, more fair and with better customer service. read more

My husband and I did both the Open Air Bus Tour of Yellowstone and the Wild Mustang Tour. The Open Air Bus was AH-mazing!!! I highly recommend it! Not only were we inches from the Bison but our tour guide took us to beautiful locations that weren't jam packed with tourists. He knew spots that were slightly off the beaten path. We did see the big ones like Old Faithful (got there 5 mins before it blew) but being able to see amazing sights without waiting 2 hours just to get into the parking lot was a blessing. He really knew the area and where to take us. Lunch was great also. Nice deli sandwich, chips and a super yummy brownie and drink. They also provide drinks and snacks for along the drive. The Wild Mustang Tour was nice. I would never have known where to go on our own. Our tour guide took us out to BLM land. We did have to drive around for a while to find the horses and they were a way out but it was a beautiful drive so nothing to complain about. Also got a chance to see a huge canyon with beautiful landscape that we would never have known about. Can't wait to do the white water rafting on our next trip! read more

The tour itself was good as far as informative and getting to see the horses, we were surprised by our transportation. Never did I read on the website that we would be traveling in an open, safari type pickup. Which would have been fine, although not necessary, once we arrived at the canyon and viewing area. But the drive from town to the canyon was awful! It was a near 20 mile trip...one way!! We were so wind blown that we were not comfortable and we could not hear much of the narration. And like I said, we had no idea this was what we were in for until we arrived the morning of our tour. More information on the website would have been most helpful. And we definitely would not have taken the tour that we did. read more

We did the 1/2 day Red Canyon Rafting. However, this group has several options. We had so much fun in what seemed like freezing temperatures. There was a thunderstormmoving through the area the whole time we were on the trip. The only time we were extremely cold is when we were out of the water having lunch. They provided life jackets and rain slickers for us. We were in a two person kayak (duckies), as there was a large family/friend group with younger kids that really needed to stay together. We felt safe and comfortable the entire trip with our minimal kayaking experience. Our lunch was a well rounded picnic lunch that we enjoyed. The large family/friend group called it quits at the half point due to weather and they were all cold. The owner was able to shuttle them back while our guide took us on the second half of the trip. We had so much fun talking with him about Cody and just things in general. He pointed out several different geographic feature and animals for us. He also was able to give us some insight into places to eat in Cody. If you have a half day to spare definitely do this experience. read more

My wife and I had the Yellowstone Lower Loop tour with our tour guide Casey on Friday, July 17th. Lucky for us, it was a beautiful day! I just wanted to say that it was a super fantastic visual experience, and Casey being the friendly, courteous, and very knowledgeable guide, not just about the lower loop, but other interesting facts about Buffalo Bill Cody, and Wyoming in general was great fun as my wife and I love facts & stats on where we visit!!! But, what left us in an especially, and much appreciated relaxed state, was not doing the driving ourselves and having such a safe and courteous driver as our guide Casey was when we were maneuvering along the curving roads and at times severely precipitous routes (to us Minnesotan's) of the Yellowstone Lower Loop! We can't say enough good things about the whole experience! We will definitely be back and choose your tours for what we have yet to see? And we'd like to request Casey as our guide for 2021!!!
