The sitting areas were nicely spaced, which I appreciated. It was quiet and the music wasn't overly loud, so it looked to be a great place to remote work if you need a spot against the wall to focus, or to catch up with people at one of the circular 4 seater tables near the center of the coffeeshop. There was also a couch area further back, which was perfect for my friend who was pregnant and also for me who is just several weeks postpartum so we both appreciated this comfortable spot to sit! Regarding the service the barista was quick to take my order and gave me good recommendations. She also made the order extremely fast as well! I got the Aversboro mocha with half sweet and oat milk and it was delicious! My friend arrived shortly after and also said her drink was great! I originally went there expecting it to be a coffee shop but while they do serve coffee, it's more a health based shake company that offers coffee and tea with limited customization options. I ended up getting the salted caramel iced coffee and it was yummy but definitely had a protein aftertaste to it that I wasn't used to. Wasn't bad, just I had been expecting a typical coffee that morning. I do want to go back and try the creamy pumpkin coffee but that was more a meal replacement than a coffee so it had to wait until another visit.

There is a small but sophisticated menu that offers quiches, scones, cheesecake and a few savory pastries, all made by a European trained chef who bakes exclusively for The Gladstone. The presentation is awesome. Hours are Tues-Thurs 10am-6pm, and Fri-Sat 10am-10pm. And they are actually open for these hours, they do not close randomly like some other local Goldsboro businesses. This is a really neat place tucked away in Goldsboro, definitely worth checking out.
