I have been here SO many times. I love having a local coffee with a drive through that just happens to be on my route to carpool. My go-to is an iced caramel macchiato, but the Lorraine's Mocha and a lot of their seasonal drinks are also really good. Also, their organic iced green tea with peach is perfection on a warm day. After years of coming here I finally got food and was not disappointed. I will definitely be grabbing lunch here again in the future. read more

I went through the drive-through at Lorraine's today after church to get a smoothie. I got a large smoothie that was mixed with half mango and half Acai Berry and pomegranate. The attendant that took my order at the drive-through menu was professional, and made sure to clarify what I asked for. When I got to the drive-through window, there was no attendant present, but someone came to the window within a minute and checked to see if I was already being helped. My order was ready shortly thereafter. I gave the attendant, my reward card and my credit card, and she rang up my order and stamped my reward card, but never asked if I wanted a receipt. I realized when I got home that I did not get a receipt and forgot to ask for one. I always enjoy the smoothies that I get from Lorraine's. We've seen Lorraine Jordan on various shows like Song of the Mountains, and enjoyed the performances. But seeing her and her Country Legends at her Coffee House is a cross between the Grand Ole Opry and Larry's Country Diner. We were amazed at the musical and singing talent on that stage. It was a country spectacular! It seems everyone was gathered around friends and family, though it was a smidgen tight on the seating. The food, coffee and ice cream treats were very good. My wife and I are frequent customers of Lorraine's lunch menu. We spend in excess of $250 per month on lunches. The chicken salad sandwich is great. HOWEVER, when I called to speak to Cindy the manager she was not in. She called me back later. The tone of the call was hostile from the start. Her demeanor was very brash and not a friendly tone. As a customer I did not expect this type of tone. We spend on average $25+ per lunch if not $44+ drinks included. But that has sadly come to an end. I can't continue to patron a store that has a manager that doesn't appreciate customers or their concerns and is brash in any way. Tone infers a lot in communication and it was apparent she has a lot to learn regarding communication skills and customer service. read more

Another local coffee shop yay! I randomly stumbled upon this place while driving through Garner and am so glad I did! I always order the White Mocha iced coffee with slightly less syrup because I don't prefer all pumps as it's too sweet. The girls working the drive thru window are always so nice. Stopped here for coffee, tea, and pastries during their renovations. Currently only their drive thru is open. This worked out well since we were planning to order take out anyway. When we arrived there was one man (with no car) and a truck in the drive thru. Waited a few minutes and then they took my order. The menu is posted outside and is easy to read. They do not list their daily pastries, muffins, and cakes, but informed me of what they are currently offering when I asked. We decided on their blueberry scone and chocolate braid to accompany a caffe mocha and hot black tea. I particularly loved the decadent chocolate braid and hot tea. My fiancé enjoyed his caffe mocha. Looks like chocolate milk and has a great flavor. The scone was a little too sweet for our taste. Before we left, they also asked if we wanted any pup cups. We said yes and she gave us 2 (one for each of our dogs drooling in the back seat). Overall, we had a good experience and would recommend this establishment to others! read more

Being that I am a local garner resident, I tend to always find myself stopping by lorraines for drink. I LOVE the fruit smoothies they make and have never had a problem with them. However, I recently became addicted to caramel iced coffee. I normally go to Starbucks or Dunkin, but today I decided I would give lorraines a try since they have never let me down before. In all honesty, this was the worst iced coffee I have ever tasted in my entire life. No joke. I don't know if they made it wrong or what, but wow this is bad. The texture is off and the flavor is borderline disturbing. Needless to say I am very disappointed. This is the third time I have been to this coffee shop. I was interested to see what it would be like when they were building/opening since I think this spot used to be a compound pharmacy. What a transformation! It is really a great spot to grab a coffee or treat. They have a drive thru window and lots of indoor seating too, including couches. They have frequent buyer punch cards, too. The most unique thing about this coffee shop is that it apparently transforms into a quaint little concert venue at night, stage and all. They always have concert dates listed in the shop and on the website. Hope to bring my husband out here for some music one night and check it out. I've been going here for a good while now. I most always go through the drive thru. A few times I've gone in to sit to drink my coffee. They are always polite. Their coffee drinks are the best I've had anywhere. They are always consistent, not different each time like DD. Also you can get a card that they punch each time. This leads up to a free coffee or whatever drink you like on the menu. My kids love their hot coco and lemonade. I've tried them and they are awesome. If you really value a great coffee drink or lemonade or tea then you owe it to yourself to try them out! You will be going back again and again. I go by there several times a week. read more

Our favorite hangout! We moved here from AZ and discovered Loraine's on the first day. Matt quickly learned our names and drinks and his barista sixth sense gives him the ability to have them ready almost before we get to the counter. Carmen perfected my chi latte to give an example of their great skills and customer service. These two baristas always make our day! There are several additional baristas, Bryce, Veronica, Robert and Mason who are also wonderful staff. If you want a great drink and a friendly smile, this is your place! read more

I really hate to do this. My hope is that this will be taken as constructive criticism and not as oh there's just some disgruntled lady let's ignore this review... I rarely give under 3 star reviews. I am not disgruntled actually- I'm just disappointed. I ordered Lorraine's Mocha and a fruit smoothie and both tasted painfully sweet, fake, and cheap. So my hopes is that this review will help push for a bolder more refined flavor to the coffee drinks and a real taste as in add in at least frozen fruit and not just mix + ice for the smoothies. If you don't want to then perhaps it's best to have a small menu of drinks done really well rather than a handful of mediocre offerings. The cookie was also subpar. Inconsistent service; sat at the drive in order screen forever with no response and then pulled up to the window to see if there was anyone there, which there was. Loraine herself was standing there talking to whom I presume was one of the managers who saw me but proceeded to ignore me and then walk away. Not only that but the employee who was making coffee saw me and continued to ignore me. Once we got there attention it took ages to receive our order. This is such a great place for coffee. I have been by a few times and love the free wifi and super friendly staff. I always ordered regular coffee or iced coffee with sugar free syrups. They have quite the selection of drinks and specialty drinks. The quality of their coffee, food and syrups is also very good. They have an offering of sandwiches, bagels and pastries. They aren't made in house but brought in fresh daily. I haven't been to any of their live music but apparently they attract quite the crowd. Nice spot for Garner to have. read more

I stopped by this place after going to a movie at White Oak, I have drove by this place a few times and always wanted to stop so this time I did. It was exactly 3:00 PM I was with my wife and I was curious on what time that they closed it said that they closed at 4:00 PM, so my wife and myself decided to give it a try the young man that waited on us at the counter asked us what we wanted, we had said we were not sure as we needed to look at the menu on the wall he seemed to be very impatience and he wanted to hurry us a long. So my wife was going to have coffee and I was also so he asked again what we would like in a hurry kind of manner, we replied coffee then he replied that they were out of coffee I replied isn't that the name of the place Lorranies Coffee and Ice Cream, he replied but we are closing in a half an hour and do not want to make a new pot, I replied that the door said you close at 4:00 PM he said yes but we have practice at 3:30 PM because they have live music in this establishment. Well at this point after feeling rushed by this rather rude young man and then having no coffee when you are a coffee house and then telling us that they close at 3:30 PM instead of 4:00 PM like the door said. Here is an idea put a note on the door saying that you close at 3:30 PM instead of 4:00 PM like the engraved sign on the door says, and get some help that knows how to communicate with customers, because we thought we had at least an hour before you were going to close, I do not believe I will be returning I thought this would be a good experience but we were highly disappointed. read more

I've only here during the day for coffee a few times. Friendly staff. Brew is mediocre at best. I found out from a staff person that it's not locally roasted, but instead distributed by Coca-Cola. Its very bright with fluorescent lighting but no natural light, so though two couches are comfortable, it's by no means warm and cozy here. Perhaps this atmosphere is better at night. Its not a coffee shop I would go out of my way to get to... Not in an area with numerous coffee shops selling locally roasted beans. read more
