Cumberland Animal Hospital - Looking out of Exam 1

It's hot and extremely humid out today. Our pup is very uncomfortable inside this tiny hot exam room. They were very kind and brought us a box fan and bottles of water to help with the uncomfortable heat and humidity. We were grateful. The Vet politely greeted us with a vet tech by her side. She was very friendly and her bedside manner with our pup was truly amazing. Our dog had a few issues for them to deal with. They properly addressed each problem we brought him in for and now it's time for him to heal. We just moved to Clinton County and his was the closest Vet to us. I'm not happy with the upselling of everything they think a dog needs or they just want to sell it to you. Shit, my personal physician doesn't do that to me. $260 for meds is a bit high in my opinion. A $850 vet bill is a bit much for an ear infection, scratched eye and his yearly vaccinations I must say. They ran a half a dozen tests too. 2 hours spent at the vet with no A/C is a bit much to deal with. Please take note, this place runs at a snails pace. Nothing is done with urgency. It's a very slow paced vet hospital. It's taking over 30 minutes just to get my dog's meds. That is excessive in my book!

They were very snarky, if you don't answer one of their questions like they want you to they look at your like your dumb. The room where my dog was seen was NOT clean!!! I fully understand that since it's an animal clinic to expect fur here and there, well it wasn't just here and there, it was everywhere!!! There was globs of animal fur, some kinds of fluids, nail clippings, all of the above. Also be prepared to pay 500$+ because everything is wayyyy over priced, just for my dog to get blood work was 430$ and that was the "cheap" "unrecommended" option. The recommended option was 900$!!! If your animal is prescribed medication, be sure to ask all of the questions because they will NOT inform you on it at all. Needless to say, I will NEVER go there again.

Midway Veterinary Hospital - My sweet Boo in pain and feeling sad after complications from his neutering. He's much happier now. Thank you, Midway!

I now know my dog, Boo, is going to be ok. I adopted Boo in Jan. He had a rough start at life, so I promised him I'd not let him be hurt or ignored or cast-aside ever again. Midway made room for me to bring Boo in today, which is good, because he started bleeding right before I walked into Midway. I paid for Boo to be neutered at the Veterinary Center of Somerset. That was a week ago. The past three days, he started to get lethargic. Then, last night, 8 PM, he ran up to me, whimpered and raise his leg. I could see how swollen and bruised he was from the neutering. I knew he was going to get some swelling, but there was a big hard vein starting to pop out. I knew it was bad. I contacted the vet who conducted the neuter. He said to bring boo to an after hours clinic. I drove two hours, waited five hours, and was about to be treated when two pets came in who have been hit by vehicles. Since they were in for more serious trouble than my boo, I agreed to get pain pills and anabiotic's and go to my main vet next morning. The clinic told me to go first thing and it could not wait. sadly, the vet who conducted the neutering did not want to see boo. She told me to come back at noon. Since boo was in quite a bit of pain and we have been at this for 14 hours, I was not willing to be put off that easily. So, I sat in the clinic. The vet finally came in to my waiting room. He jerked my puppies leg up and told me that the puppy would be just fine. I tried to explain that the clinic had told me to come in. He then barked at me that I had to pay an emergency visit amount which is more than twice the regular visit price. I was appalled. I could not believe that he was being rude to me because I wanted treatment for complications from the surgery that he had performed. I paid the emergency fee for the less than two minutes of his time and left in tears. I called Midway and they immediately made room for boo in the afternoon. Everything about midway was different. They cared and they talked to my puppy. They understood that what I wanted was to be assured that my dog was going to be OK. though, it has been an awful 24 hours, the silver lining is that I have found my forever Veterinary Clinic. I cannot say enough kind words about how they treated me today. Thank you, Midway. Thank you for showing me kindness and taking care of my baby. Thank you for understanding how important my puppy is to me. I promise him to share the news, so others can benefit from the amazing service I got today. I highly recommend Midway and hope that anyone who is worried about their pet or bring it to the Midway clinic. They care!!

I was very impressed with Dr. Thorton and the staff who helped hold my dog for the exam. They were very gentle, caring and took the time to answer my questions. I felt like Dr. Thorton was extremely knowledgeable and pointed out a lot of things that were very important which my previous vet never mentioned. She and the tech actually took the time to go through this huge book of prescriptions in order to find me a dog food that was right for my dog! I couldn't believe it! That was immensely helpful since I am not familiar with any of them. They gave me thorough information about my pet's medications and even told me where to get Rx coupons for a discount. Now that we have a new health plan for my dog, I feel like she will be happier and healthier thanks to Dr. Thorton. We will definitely keep going to lcvets! I highly recommend them if you want quality care for your pet.
