I cannot speak highly enough about Park View Gallery! Over a…read morefew years I have had a number of pictures framed by Roger and have always been thrilled with the results. He instinctively knows which colours and frames will be best for your picture and, while he offers advice, he never puts pressure to influence your choice. He is always welcoming and helpful and I look forward to my visits. I am amazed at how his frames enhance what I have produced. It's hard to beat having your work professionally framed by someone with Roger's skill and expertise. It's worth every penny! I have just left two more pictures for him and can't wait to go and pick them up in a couple of weeks time!

My family have used Park View for a couple of hanging and framing jobs and even had a piece of jewellery mounted, which highlighting Roger's versatility. At the most recent exhibition the work of Jon Jones, a portrait painter was shown and was in fact the artists first solo exhibition since 2008 and his first in Birmingham for four years. His work was striking and gave a real sense of the lives of his subjects. Park View is expanding with a cafe planned by owner Roger, so if you have never visited then there's all the more reason to do so.

This Max Spielman shop is situated in Kings Heath on the main high street, it is part of a large…read morechain of stores. This is the place to go if you need photos developing, printing off from your digital camera or computer using a memory card or CD or even if you need to get your passport photos done. You can also buy a variety of frames and photo albums. The prices are reasonable and the location is convenient. I have found the manager of this shop to be very knowledgable and helpful but on the days he is not in the other staff seem to struggle coping when there is more than one customer in the shop.

They destroyed my holidays photos. I brought my disposable camera (recently bought) and they asked…read moreme to come back the following day to collect the pictures. When I came back they told me that it was not possible to have them because they needed to change the paper and she was on her own. I told her that it wasn't professional to don't phone the client if there was any issue and avoid the walk to the shop and I insisted to have the pictures along the day. She agreed with bad manners. Next thing when I came back was to see my film fogged and completely blanc. Bad camera? Problem with the film? I don't think so. Probably a horrible staff with rude and not proffesional attitude that didn't deal properly with the situation and found easier to remove my paper memories. I'll never be back and if you are clever you won't do neither

In Birmingham, there are few and far between shops that sell such a wide scope as of collectors items, and this dwindling number is more than likely the result of a rise in internet sales in this area; So it's great that a place like Bob's has managed to exist throughout this climate. The store is surprisingly big inside, as appose to the small appearance from the street, and it literally stocks every toy/building hobby imaginable. There are boat building kits, train sets, die cast cars and tanks. Bob's also caters for niche collectors too, and there's a great selection of Star Wars models sold inside, such as star fighter ships. I bought my first scalextric from Bob's, and I used to have great fun playing with it as a young'n. (Writing this really makes me want to retrieve my set from the loft actually) Prices for scalextric cars aren't cheap, and tend to reach around £30 per car. But then again, the models are so detailed and delicate, it's definitely worth paying the cash.
