I called her on Saturday and she had us booked for Sunday. She took them both at once and is extremely knowledgeable on how to deal with dogs. Usuually when I pick them up, they are shaking and hating me for taking them to the groomers, but they were happy and jumping around when I picked them up from A-1. She used a hydro-alergetic shampoo which is good as I forgot to tell her that they were alergic to everything. So great service and great pricing for my puppies. Pricing was $35-$40, well worth it.

I originally took my dog and cat there after meeting Dr. Bob @ a resto in downtown Belleville. I…read moreneeded traqulalizers for a plane ride to Calgary. The woman from the counter took my dog away in a back room or somewhere down a long hallway to weigh him etc...my cat another woman looked at at the counter. Fast forward a year or so...I come back from Calgary with my dog, my cat and a new puppy who was un-neutered. So I took him there. It was reasonable as I got him chipped at the same time. That summer my original dog had a growth on his lower groin area...I thought it could be a tick because it was kinda long with a black crusty black top. He was also limping slightly on his hind rear leg. One of the assistants there yet again took him away from me down the long hallway. She came back literally two minutes later and told me that the growth was just his nipple. She suggested that I come back to see their specialist because she thought that he had a torn crutiate ligament. So we went back and met a lovely older french surgeon who spent allot of time with us explaining all there is about his ligament. Because my dog is part bulldog he was going to cut one of his bones and then re-attach it, using flesh like ropes...(or something like this). The entire thing would cost $2000.00 plus HST. Speaking with my parents (whose dog just had the same surgery) and they told me to go and see their vet. So I did. She ended up charging me $1200 plus HST. I told them what the other specialist had suggested and I got a very funny look. They obviously did not want to comment on a competitor. When I took my dog to get his stitches out, I had noticed that the "nipple" had gotten suspiciously larger, so I asked my new vet to take a look. She said "uhm...this is not a nipple, due to the fact that there is a nipple both right in front and behind this thing. It is a growth" She then stuck a needle into it, took a biopsy (?) and looked in the microscope. She showed me what she saw. Oh, by the way, I was in the room with my dog when all of this happened. It was a cancerous growth that I had removed for $350 that day. Being quite upset that it had been diagnosed as a NIPPLE, I was slightly freaking out in the waiting room while they cut if off my dog. One of the secretary's slipped me a piece of paper with CVA on it. I still have yet to file a complaint with them but perhaps this will be good enough. When I got home I called Dr. Burns office and asked to speak to the woman who had made the diagnosis. She was not there. So I proceeded to tell the woman on the phone what happened. Se expressed shock and dismay and said that the woman in question was not supposed to make those kinds of decisions. She said that she would speak with the Doctor about this. I never got a phone call back. In my 3-4 years going there I NEVER ONCE SAW THE DOCTOR HIMSELF. I think that should say it all.

Every test they could muster up they did. She treated everyone of them like her own. Dogs are VERY smart and if the fight to go in, than ask your dog why. We had the Cocker Spaniel, who got sick (brain tumor) and went blind, and Toni cut his hair just to make him feel a little better, she called in an assistant so he would fell safe, Thank You Again.social Toni looks after our Spaniel/ Lab cross and even with his Allergies and SCRATCHING a fine job was done. We brought in our cat who had an infection in her uterus. The Vet mike, told us immediately that we need to take out all her lady organs. He said it won't be more then 350$ total for it! So they brought us "Carrie" the most unprofessional woman ever and she was the office manager. We explained that we were told it was gonna be that price and that we even SIGNED a paper for the estimate to be cheaper. Me and my boyfriend are never disrespectful to anyone especially a place we highly respected. The lady was getting very angry and upset and said she could take off 40$ and then get mad at mike and we said no! Don't get him in trouble and also 40$ isn't really gonna help us, no disrespect. Her exact words ." I will wave 133$ and then you can take your business else where!" I said what! We love you guys we don't want to go else where! And she said " well it's now coming out of our pockets and we have a loss now!!" As she yelled! And we said omg why did you say that to us and she kept going " we make enough money here, we don't need your money." She walked away and started yelling infront of the customers saying we just aren't getting anywhere! My boyfriend said but you just helped us by taking the 133$ off , why do we have to take our business else where?? And she was so mad and was snarky laughing and went into the back!! We called the OWNER, and we told her the situation and she said " I'm sticking by my workers side , I'm tired of bending over backwards for customers for 29 years" um what? So you give up on your business ? The reason we even called her was to just let her know, that over 133$ of them loosing she kicked is valid customers out! And the owner totally agreed !!!! This means this place is all about MONEY guys ! Not our little animals! I wonder how many other people she kicks out for other discussions that she can't handle! Guys!
