    Pizza from the buffet
    Steve S.

I needed a quick lunch before I got of town on Monday, and looked around on Yelp. And, will you look at this... a Yelper who I'm Yelp friends with from my own hometown has visited this place. And knowing how much of a pizza snob Tracy W is, I knew I'd find something good here. I knew I had to visit too if she did. So I stopped here for the lunch buffet. I liked the buffet layout. Nice amount of choices. I took tastes of the meatballs, wings, and eggplant parmesan, and found them all to be decent. My first trip to the buffet only had a couple of pizza choices, which were the regular and the plain white. I took a taste of the plain white, and found it to be ok. It could have used more garlic. I went back to the buffet for one more quick bite, and found they had put out more pizza. And there was the white pizza with tomato slices Tracy had mentioned in her review. I grabbed that with a slice of the regular. Now, the regular pizza is just that... regular. I found it to be just OK. But that white pizza with the tomato slice, that was the winner. That slice had all of the flavor that the other slices were lacking. This place to me seems like the type of place where you have to know what to order. Maybe others like their general pizza. But I will say that white tomato pizza is a real winner, and I'd certainly have it again if I am ever in that area. It's a 3 star place because not all of the offerings were great. But that one item is a 5 star item all the way.

Visited here for lunch today with a coworker. We both had ordered different food for lunch and both ended up really sick afterwards. The mozzarella sticks I had were great! The Stromboli I wouldn't order again. Usually we come for the lunch buffet and it's great but we skipped it today due to running late. Our waitress was great. Getting sick made me think twice about returning and ordering specific food. Stick to the lunch buffet if you go.

Fresh with pepperoni, onions, mushrooms and sweet peppers! YUMM!

Ordered take out. One red and one fresh. Can't decide which one we liked better because they were both so delicious! They were ready when I got there and the staff was friendly and pleasant. Can't wait to go back for more! Yumm! thanks for making our dinner awesome!!!

Cold, canned mushrooms, mushy, horrible cheese and I inch of doughy, tasteless crust.

We asked our hotel front desk if there were any local places to order pizza. She recommended Colarussos. We called and ordered a pizza to be delivered. After waiting over an hour with no delivery, we called and we were told that it was on its way. After another 30 min, the pizza and salad was delivered. The pizza was cold and the appearance was extremely unappetizing! It had a pale "mushy" cheese on it that looked almost like a sauce. The crust was over an inch thick and had no flavor whatsoever. The mushrooms were out of a can. After calling to express our concern that the pizza was not cooked, etc, we received no explanation or apology. We were told that this is how the local people like their pizza and that the cheese was a "blend"!!

Shrimp and pepper pizza. Delicious. Old fridge pizza is unique from other pizza in that it's rectangular instead of round.

Great Old Forge style pizza. Hot wing pizza and steak & cheese calzone are also great. Always good service.

So starting off, I went to Ipanema Grille with my husband and wife, with a gift card. It was a…read moreChristmas gift. Not some place we would necessarily go to on our own, but it sounded fun. There was the option for Rodizio (endless table side meat with the buffet as well) or Boardwalk which is just the buffet. We chose to do the Rodizio all 3 of us. The buffet, was underwhelming. As a positive I will say each item we grabbed from the buffet was absolutely delicious, the correct temperature, and FRESH! They refill their boardwalk bar constantly. The buffet just didn't have many options. There were 2 tables basically side by side. One hot side where there was garlic broccoli, brown sugar carrots, mac and cheese, beans, rice, mash potatoes, and sweet potatoes, shrimp (which my wife adored) etc. In the middle a very amazing yucca stew. Then cold side had regular salad bar options, tomatoes, cheeses, lettuce, dressing, potato salad, pesto pasta, etc. Maybe if we went with the boardwalk option which was $39 something we would have been fully satisfied. However we did pay $70 each for the Rodizio. There were 13 meats, we were there for 2 hours and didn't try all the meats. The meats came pretty slowly with big breaks in between and some cuts of meat went right by us over and over. As well my husband and I requested medium rare, and consistently were offered well done or very well done meat. As well some of the meat was under seasoned in some cases. Some of the meat when it was actually medium rare was absolutely phenomenal, like the lamb with rosemary was all of our favorite. Again to some positives, the owner was very involved, walking around and asking everyone how they were, the entire staff was friendly. The tables were cute with candles in the middle, and the atmosphere was cozy. The place isn't very big so as more people fill in it gets a bit loud and hard to hear your gaucho say what meat they are offering, but they kindly repeated for me over and over despite my terrible hearing. The drinks seem to be amazing, we tried both sangrias white and red, and then got a pitcher we ended up taking most of home (yes they let you!). Which I thought was awesome, and the sangria is to die for! Like I said the meat was slow and inconsistent, but worse was our server, which I will not name because she was a teen and maybe this is her first job, but she consistently walked past us without checking in. Finally we flagged her down to beg for a water refill, and she refilled half the rooms water and stood talking in the kitchen for a bit, before getting us any. Now lastly to dessert. I got the liquor chocolate cake, it was delicious, but in my opinion quite small, though admittedly I'm a fat girl, so I like a good size dessert. My wife also got a dessert, the flan, she also complained it was small. They also only put like 3 strawberries on each which was disappointing because it enhanced the flavor a lot. All in all, it's a fun experience. 10/10 for kindness and vibes. 9/10 for the quality of the buffet. 7/10 for buffet variety 5 or less really, for actual service. Our bill was for three rodizios, two desserts, one beer, one glass white sangria, one glass red sangria, and a pitcher of white sangria. Mind you it was a Tuesday and they do sales of almost half price on sangria by the glass and pitcher. Our bill came out to about $308. I don't feel our experience met expectations. When we go out for anniversaries we drop $300 or more without thought and a good tip, (special occasions we go all out). So we considered if we liked this place coming back for our anniversary, but I wouldn't bother. I left a small tip for the lack of service, and would never go back. I still would recommend it to others if they have patience, maybe speak up more than I did about meat preference, and just want the experience. Go and see for yourself, but just keep in mind to be vocal about preferences, and ready to wait.

This made my daughter so uncomfortable that she had to turn away to avoid her gaze. I didn't even stay at the restaurant after such a lack of respect, which left my daughter in tears and feeling insecure.

There was enough variety (sushi, italian and asian-style hot dishes, salad, fruits, etc.), and while everything was pretty mediocre, we were hungry, so it sufficed for us. There was a lot of sushi, but all the rolls were pretty simple (the filling for most of the rolls were one of cream cheese, crabmeat, and some tempura) and had a lot of rice. I wish that they displayed the ingredients in their sushi and dishes though -- they were only labeled vague names like "Beauty Roll" or "Dynamite Roll." I thought the meats were cooked pretty well -- at least the ones I tried (Thai Chicken, Pork Chop), and I also liked the asian-styled Mixed Vegetables. They had a whole section of fried foods, which I didn't try. The Lo Mein (noodles) were bland, and the fried dumplings weren't that great (the dough was waay too tough). The quality of the meal really depends on the timing. When we got there, a lot of the dishes were looking that they had been sitting out for a while (the pizza looked cold and dry, there wasn't a lot of food left in the tins, etc.), but it all looked a lot better and appetizing when they brought out the newly-cooked food, obviously. We got there at about 3:30pm, which was a weird time, and they "restocked" probably around 4pm. I'm not sure how frequently they restock, but it seemed like they do it at a good cadence.
