After the previous landlord, Katie Rogers, left, I complied fully with every instruction given by…read morethe new landlord, Amanda, in order to recover my security deposit. During my tenancy, the ceiling collapsed due to a faulty AC system that caused a significant leak. This was a maintenance failure -- not tenant damage. Katie had maintenance repair the issue, and the leftover paint provided came directly from that repair. I used only that paint to address the affected area. "Normal Wear and Tear" vs. Damage: In most jurisdictions, painting is considered normal wear and tear. Landlords generally cannot charge tenants for repainting simply to prepare a unit for a new tenant. Authorized Paint: Because the paint I used was supplied by maintenance following the repair, there was implicit -- if not explicit -- authorization. It is unreasonable to claim "unauthorized alterations" when the materials were provided by management. Despite this, I was charged $1,200 to repaint the entire apartment, plus $240 for blind replacements, even though the blinds were dry-rotted upon move-in. The total charge of $1,440 is unreasonable and unjustified. Maintenance requests routinely went unanswered, and phone calls during business hours were often ignored. Communication was consistently poor throughout my tenancy. After fulfilling all move-out requirements, all of my security deposit except $60 was withheld without proper justification. In my opinion, this was improper handling of the deposit. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution prospective tenants, as this was by far my worst rental experience.

Another low review. We rented a house for a year, and paid pet rent for 2 cats. In moving out we…read morewere informed we would pay 400 dollars for "kitty litter removal and cat odors.". We scrubbed the house and used disinfectant on our move out. There was no trash or smells. Just another cash grab. Tennessee Valley rep would not listen and hung up at the end. When we moved in, the house had grease and dirt under the stove and refrigerator, the vent over the stove was also caked in grease, so their in-house cleaning staff must have a list of things to look for, like pets but not common things like actual cleaning. Also house has lichen growing on the outside and they would not clean when asked. Will not recommend

Paula and Deanna are amazing. We were looking for a unique property-and Paula did not stop (for…read morealmost 6 months) until she found the perfect one for us! This team is very impressive. They are very knowledgeable about the area, prompt and responsive in communication, honest, and made the entire process of purchasing a home as stress free as possible. We were out of town and Paula and Deanna set up viewing appointments as soon as we sent them a listing, went to the listing and took videos and pictures, and gave us their honest feedback based on what we were looking for. These ladies didn't sugar-coat things and didn't give us unrealistic expectations. They were forthcoming and upfront with us throughout the entire process which I find is rare nowadays and I appreciated. During negotiations, Paula handled everything. She put out fires (before we even knew they were happening!), set up and attended inspections, negotiated on our behalf, and really had our backs while still being the most ethical, honest, and professional realtor I've ever come across. This was by far our most pleasant real estate transaction experience and it's 100% due to Paula and Deanna. They are truly a joy and pleasure to work with and I would recommend them to everyone I know and even to people I don't know! They are amazing!

Our family often says that we need a Paula and Deanna in every aspect of our lives: the people that…read morewill go above and beyond on our behalf; the people we can count on to do the job as well, if not better than we would do ourselves. After working a year together through the thick and thin of selling two homes that needed substantial face-lifts, we came to trust and rely on the Knoxville Living team to assist ailing family members understand the selling process, represent our family's interests when managing contractors or attorneys, and be more than just guides to selling our home. The term "realtor" does not encompass the lengths these two wonderful ladies went to to ensure our homes had the appropriate updates, finishes, and behind the scenes paperwork and care that went into being their best for the next owners. Although we were selling modest homes, we felt the care and attention by Paula and Deanna was as if we were selling multi-million dollar properties; they showed us luxury in the home-selling process.
